This happens in most close knot communities of expats. As a native it is even tougher to see my friends leave after having living in my country for many years it hurts each time. Many come back to retire anyways. I am from and in The Bahamas.

When I was with my friends at the resort, we were talking about it. That we make friends there that are so close they are like family (as our families are so far away) - but the expat community sees people always come and go - and it is so hard to keep saying bye to people you get so close to.
Hi Emilie, just came across your videos whilst looking up some Uganda Vlogs! You've got such a great aura and I have subscribed so I can keep up with your journey! Keep pushing, keep fighting. This is your purpose and your resilience inspires me!! The resort that you visited on the Nile is beautiful! I am considering visiting when I go to Uganda in the summer, however, I didn't quite catch the name. If you see this comment, could you let me know what the place is called? Anyway, best of luck on your journey and can't wait for the updates!

Julien Kababiito unfortunately you don’t seem to have quite understood the point of the video. It was my last day with my best friend before she left the country. It’s not a video about the worst things about Uganda itself, neither is it anything to do with the scenery. The title is the worst thing about LIVING in Uganda - from my point of view. Me - an expat - living away from home in Uganda. In the video it was explained that it is being away from family and friends and then your friends here become like family, but they leave. I’m sorry you did not understand that 🤷♀️
Yes it is hard in the beginning. Take heart it will get better. I lived in Uganda over 20 years and will be back later this year.
Nice time Ruth
