Hey everyone! We're Eric Lagerstrom and Paula Findlay. We're both professional triathletes; we train for and race triathlon for a living.

This week we finally broke down and got an espresso machine for Canada. Paula's parents machine was broken and we were spending way too much money at coffee shops. We got the Breville barista pro and love it so far! We also dropped our new coffee mugs, so check those out if you're interested in the best triathlon mug money can buy :)

I usually get annoyed by RUclipsrs pushing their merch. But for me, you two are different. You work so hard and are so wholesome that I love seeing how excited you are about your merch; and we are too!

I love how Paula is making Eric an honorary Canadian! You've manage to drop the Canadian Tire and Hudson's Bay references! You've just gotta drop the "Don't get too far ahead of your ski tips" reference and a few "eh's".
Due to work load watching this a week late at Calgary airport. Don't know how you guys train in this weather. Just the thought of swimming ( even indoors & heated) is against every primitive instinct in my body. Way to go 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. You guys are a true inspiration. Eric....you look leaner than ever. I can not wait to see you in action in a real race .
Honestly, we stand and stare at the cold pool way longer than we should before every swim. It's brutal. If there wasn't a hot tub... not sure we would have made it this far 😂

Great watch as always only you two could make going to the supermarket as we call it here look interesting. We own a Breville machine also after I had to up my coffee game watching all your videos. training getting wet over here now a couple of hours on the bike this AM. waiting for my Triathlon Life Sunday fix. David, thanks so much :) I always get a little nervous with the supermarket trips.. Hard to know what level of realism is appreciated versus going too far. Good for you getting on the espresso plan! It’s a great hobby/routine 🤙

Love the videos Eric! Full disclosure - I grew up in Edmonton (4 hrs from Calgary - but in the mountains) but now I'm out east. I love the footage of my the Rockies......reminds me of home....and the coffee! I have the Breville Barista Express (your machine without the cool digital display). Yes - it is outstanding.....the espresso is the only thing I have before the early morning workouts (except a waffle if I'm on the bike)......and lattes are great recovery after a cold (Canadian) winter run. Keep the videos rolling......I just need to get my hands on a coffee mug. Cheers - J.

So you went North to Canada to train in the nice cool Canadian winter.... What do Canadian mountains wear to stay warm ? Snow caps.
Another great video I worked in an Italian coffee shop in Montreal when I was a kid in 1984 the trick to great coffee is the more you make out of that machine the better it becomes and never wash it with soap. That shop would make over 700 coffees a day. Enjoy your new machine.

Loved the swim shots, loved the in-depth on the machine and the final product! The blend of life and training was very nice. I think we both picked up the habit of “fancy” coffee and making it a ritual when we were traveling around the ITU circuit. In Europe it’s much more of a relaxing activity than it is a caffeine fix
Was laughing when Paula said, not bad, just want the coffee hotter.. That's exactly what my wife said when I did my first coffee at home. ended up getting one of those thermometer things. If you guys ever end up in New Zealand I'll make you one. Love the channel
We’ll take you up on that if they ever manage to host the 70.3 worlds there. We’re really bummed it didn’t work out. We got the hotness dialed in for the second cup ;)

Yes camera lenses are so expensive. I was a photographer before YouTubing with SLR’s became really popular and learned the hard way about cheaper lenses.

Top notch bean choice with the kicking horse too, which brings me to a question for you. How does the espresso quality from a fancy home machine compare to that of a Nespresso maker?
Is it noticeably that much better and therefore worth the cost and does the answer differ if drinking as espresso versus an americano or cappuccino or cortado?
Awesome! A! But I give it a week. Before the both of you, play rock, paper, scissors on who makes the coffee. Flynn has gotten big.
haha This is actually the first time Paula has been interested in making espresso. Our setup back home is much more complicated. And yeah, Flynn is now a pony.

Great video as always, although I generally like the ones with a little more training. Curious - how do you choose the music? It always seems perfectly matched and as someone who generally pictures my life set to a soundtrack I wonder how you pull that off.

Yikes. That’s what we heard. We didn’t actually start swimming until a month ago because our home pool in Oregon wasn’t open. Still isn’t :(

I think people are buying your items regardless. A preorder is a guarantee to receive limited merchandise. Its a badge of honor in a sense.
I think your business is run in a clean enough fashion that you are not getting a bunch of wahoos who are going to complain after they were informed of the situation.
Buying or selling things on kijiji always feels sort of sketch. Will you guys be putting up any sweaters or long sleeves to your merch site anytime soon? I'd love to get my hands on one to wear during the winter months.

I am 17 and I want to be Ironman
I’d recommend starting with Olympic distance and going fast. You can be an Ironman when you’re 50, take your 20’s to go fast and have fun 🤙
