just found this band. I must say I'm an instant fan. I really love the lyrics seems like they took time to come up with them. They seem like good songs to play at an open mic night or something, I may have to give that a try.
They do interviews in and around these performances, as it's the KEXP format. Some fans like it. There are other videos from other sources for those that don't. Choice is a great thing.
right on. also, this is same dude who wrote "nightclub." Don't get me wrong, I love these kids, but they do what they gotta. Greg Graffin of Bad Religion wears a proud medal that they have never and won't do a song about being a band on the road and blah blah, and these kids did a whole record. i love them. They are smart and beautiful. But their worldview is necessarily limited. That said, I will buy a ticket to the next O97 show near me because its a badass good time.
These guys will go down in history as one of the best Texas bands ever!
The Old 97s are a great band!! Woo Hoo!!
Love this album one of their best!
Great performance by those Old 97's (full performance live on KEXP)
Love it. Saw them at the Bar of Soap in Deep Ellum in 94 and have been a lifelong fan ever since. Keep on the open road!
I miss the Bar of Soap! The Old 97s are a great band!
I gave you a thumbs up for the nice hooters.
I LOVE that place
Love that "Guadalajara" is kind of a companion song to "Dance With Me" and the girls with the flip flop smile.

Fort Worth misses you guys!!!
I love these guys! I saw their show at the Showbox a few years back. "Timebomb" and "Big Brown Eyes" are two of my favorite songs.

Awesome. Great new album as well - start to finish - feels/sounds like one of their first, which is a good thing!

"Keeping it human" Rhett on recording
7 minutes of talking in the middle of a 22 minute performance?

@@EdwoodCA You sound like a real triggered asshole.
John Prine memories
Back when KEXP was good and not hosting a 100 Yoko Ono's.
Suddenly, Rhett really sounds like Neil Diamond to me.
Not that that's a bad thing.
They kinda remind me of old Pavement
I hear it.
Like why the fuck wouldn't they play "time bomb"
dudes ripped off going to california, but its all good.

Listening in 2023 and Rhett made some very prescient comments about AI coming up! Great performance 🎸
