Newbie to your channel and enjoyed your in-depth talk of all the challenging issues, you are plodding through. I’m going to be a neighbour soon (Northern NSW) and was thinking of putting a caravan or dome tent up, so good to hear your take on the painting aspect. Enjoyed thoroughly and learnt some. I also have a couple of border collies as well as an old British Bulldog. All the best with the paint job and look forward to more pocket life living. 👍🏽🐶😎
Hi Amie😊🌻✨.....Thankyou🙏🏽 & Love Your videos 💗💕....I'm currently slowly renovating & painting my caravan as well so watching your videos is giving great advice....Was wondering what brand of sealant you use?....Thankyou again🙏🏽💕✨
Great job, wauw! 🤩 Can't wait to see the next episode 😉 Wishing you all the best for 2022 and I hope you allready had some great festive days 🎄🍾🥂 love, Sandra
Consider raptor liner paint. Its big in the offroad scene atm because of its durability and its DIY friendly. I just painted my jeep bullbar with it and its very cool!
Hi Amie, I hope you had a great Christmas. I loved your video - it was great to see a longer format from you. I don’t know much about painting, but I watch a lot of boat renovation videos, some of them Aluminium boats (e.g. MJ Sailing - early episodes). There are very robust and resilient paints from suppliers like ‘Total Boat’. It might be worth looking at - if you haven’t already done so. Just an idea. I’m looking forward to your Christmas video. Cheers xx
Regarding the hayfever... look for a local producer of raw honey, and consume a tsp or 2 a day. The theory is that the bees in your local area utilise the flora surrounding you to make the honey. So, when you eat that particular honey, it helps your body become immune to the negative affects of the pollen around you. 😉 And again, be sure that the honey is raw, as heated honey is basically "dead", and is no different to eating sugar.
Really love watching your journey and enjoyed the longer episode. Questions sort of related; have you found Samford has gotten a lot busier in the last year or so? And if you were to move where would you like to be? Hope you had a fab Xmas :)
Thanks Jessica :) I’ve lived in Samford for 10 years and definitely feels it’s expanded quiet a bit since. Not much farm land left and lots of new housing estates. Most properties here are 2-5 acres, but where my caravan in positioned is right next to a main road, hence the road noise :( also Merry Christmas to you too!
@@PKTLFE ok great on the paintable silicone! And having just finished the video lol, if it were me, I would roll on exterior oil based house paint, with a primer base layer. It will be cost effective and durable.
I'd stick with your current decision not to use automotive paint. Honestly it's such a specialised paint that requires a high degree of skill under extremely controlled environments to get right...and even then nothing is guaranteed. There is very little chance that doing it outside of a booth will get a good result. Your typical metal coating products from Bunnings are likely to be ok provided you have a clean surface. I was painting my chassis with Rustoleum and accidentally got the side of my caravan. That was 2 years ago and despite being parked in the sun by the beach it's still sticking strong 😀
I think I watched that block once or twice about a decade ago. Those shows seem designed for an older audience, and your video reflects that style. This might be why you’re not getting many views or likes. I clicked on your video hoping to find useful solutions to many problems. However, the excessive talking was off-putting, and I found myself skipping through it, disappointed and without gaining anything of value. Maybe if you pulled the trim and plated it with nickel or black chromium would have been something of value, but you just take short-cuts. and it's a waste of my time.

Good to know Jayden. Does this paint have a course texture to it?
@@PKTLFE yeah it does, you can make it more or less course
You’re doing great, the van is really coming along. Hope you had a lovely Chrissie :)

This is cool! Thanks for taking the time to edit a long video. It's gonna be cool to see this project progress.

I think that tree is an invasive Mimosa.
And just my opinion, but next time use paintable silicone and don't bother with the soapy water!
Thanks for your feedback! Yes the Silicone is paintable :)
