    Thank you for this video. Mouth taping has been a life changer for me. I use white “Paper Tape” that I get at the Dollar Store in the band-aid section. I just put one single piece across my mouth, long enough to have an extra inch on both side. I never have a problem with it coming off at night. My roll of tape lasts a long time.

    Just started mouth taping the last two days. The first night was weird but then last night I had the best uninterrupted sleep I have had in a long time. And have even found that I have been breathing through my nose all day today (muscle memory i suppose). I was recommended to use Kin tape. It is just the right sticky and doesn't leave any residue in the morning.

    I have used this for about 4 nights so far and it comes loose and still get dry mouth. I am on Capp and have been getting more cavities recently than I did when I was a teenager. Now know why, will continue to try the tape and hope it helps. Would really like to get a good nights sleep/rest.

    I am a mouth breather on
    bi-pap. My mouth will even open so far as to catch the bottom of a full face mask in my mouth. Somnifix alone isn’t strong enough to keep my mouth closed. But what you said about surgical tape is also true. My solution is a bit expensive because I find quite often I can’t use the Somnifix more than once. I place a Somnifix then place a 2 inch piece of surgical tape over it. This keeps my mouth closed rather well. Removing it all in the morning is not as painful as removing just surgical tape alone.

    I have been mouth taping with surgical tape for a little over two weeks now, wow what a difference. The problem is it tears my skin to the point of bleeding when I pull it off. I'm going to try this product, my face is too sore to use the surgical tape anymore. Thanks so much.

      @@noone9472 If you are asking why I sleep better it's because when I mouth breathe in my mask, I would also slobber. When I would turn over the slobber would roll around my mask and the pressure would push it out the corners of my mask. Disgusting, with tape I don't slobber so I don't have that disgusting liquid rolling around on my face..

    I'm very interested in trying the mouth tape. I use a CPAP machine and a lot of times the air would penetrate out my mouth and wakes me up. My concern is the slit in the middle which I would think, promote the pressurized air to escape. I literally tried Duct Tape out of desperation. Actually it worked, but taking it off, OUCH! Not recommended.

    I liked these, but between the cost and all the packing I just could see using them long term. Through trial and error I've discovered that the 1" CVS Sensitive Skin paper tape is the best! It's sticky enough, but doesn't feel like it's going to peel your skin off.

    This is an update on my previous post. I ordered some Somnifix Sleep Strips and they were horrible for me. After less than an hour they would come off. I went back to the surgical tape and again it does great. I have learned to be more careful and take more time getting them off. The tape last forever so the cost is very minimal. I can't sleep without them anymore.

    • @usaman7358
      @usaman7358 Год назад

      Wow, long time on cpap. I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea 24 years ago and, believe it or not, I have not had one single day of relief in those 24 years. I try cpap for a week or so, cant stand it, NO improvement whatsoever, then into the closet it goes for another year until with desperation I try again. On and on this has gone for YEARS. ZERO improvement, not one night. Early on had a dental device through my dentist ($1,500), used it for 3 months, NO IMPROVEMENT. Cpap, bipap, asv, NO IMPROVEMENT. Granted, I only last a couple days with each but, come on, I should have felt SOMETHING. Under ASV I had like 3 days of almost perfect score yet FELT NO BETTER. How can one go from waking up 29 times every hour to .5 wakeups and feel NOTHING? I've pretty much given up. Granted, I'm paying the price in fatigue, unable to travel, multiple naps per day, quality of life sadly effected. So here I am 24 YEARS later, and the same, or worse, than I was the day I walked into my first (of 3) sleep studies. I guess the "good" news is that I'm still alive at 61 so I'm living proof that it won't kill you overnight, but kills you slowly. But, what else can I do? Been to 3 or so Dr's by now and its always the same...."stick with it". Never any answers as to WHY I don't feel better AT ALL. Even a 5% improvement would be motivating to me. nada, zero, nothing. I find it hard to believe that I wouldn't feel SOMETHING different (better) after one day, let alone several days. Guess I just don't believe that magically, on the 6th week (I've never gotten close to that long) of cpap, everything magically kicks in. Thanks for listening!

    Hi Dr Burhenee, great video. Have just started taping my mouth of a night and have noticed a difference in the morning. My question however is for my children, like myself they are both chronic mouth breathers. I worry about the long term effects that mouth breathing will have on their facial structure. Is mouth taping something I should be encouraging with them? My daughter is 8 and currently her profile is great, there’s a slight over-jet but nothing out of the ordinary. My son is 12 and has lip incompetence, ive also noticed that his mandible has become slightly recessed which I would say is contributed to mouth breathing. He’ll be in braces within 6 months however I’d still like to address the mouth breathing issue as I’d hate for him to experience orthodontic relapse due to mouth breathing. Would love to know your thoughts on this.

    I probably need a CPAP, as sleep badly and when I do sleep ,I wake up with a headache (not a hangover, I don;t drink) dry mouth blocked nose , catarr etc. I was born with a cleft palatte so I think that causes a lot of problems as I have done this since childhood. Is this going to help people like me, or do i need something much stronger?
