I have this as a rental, it’s not really smooth when accelerating on the highway. But it’s deff cute and feels good when sitting inside.

Great review, I like how you show the small things too, like the turn signal sound and horn sound. Thank you.

the left scroll thing next to the headlight control and the gauge cluster brightness control is to brighten/dim your reading light which is integrated in between your center dome lights and it illuminates your shifter and cup holder region at night

Nearly $44K for this Jeep. Mazda CX5 Turbo which is equally well equipped is $38K. It just seems like Jeep, Ford and GM are unjustifiably overpriced these days. Seems like Cherokee is on its way out all together. Pricing on Compass and Cherokee are nearly identical. Great review though!

Thank you! And yes, American vehicles have gotten quite a bit more expensive the past few years

Your comparing a Mazda, grocery getter to a jeep Cherokee that can go off-road. It’s not a fair comparison really. They are two different animals.

@sbond1963 not even close of a comparison lol, and this jeep has a v6. Not a dead brain engine

most ppl wont/dont have 'piece of mind' with bmw, regardless of 'comfort' and routine maintenance in comparing them,id take this any day over a bmw for the piece of mind alone...but i hear ya tho man and outstanding review!!(btw anyone can buy better tires for an added cost or/and for a quieter-ride)and that expense alone wont come close to bmw ownership to note.

The 2023 Trailhawk with the 2.0 Turbo is rated at 20/26 MPG while the Altitude Lux is rated at 21/29 MPG. You tested the most economical version. Just watching you merge on the highway it seems pretty quiet even at a full throttle (or close to it). In the past year I've driven a Subaru Crosstrek and Outback, both with the base engine, plus a GMC Terrain with the base engine and they didn't seem any quicker. Can't know for sure without driving the Cherokee, but it seems like it can handle freeway duty fine.

If anyone complains about the infotainment. I don't see why. Its a perfect size, set up comfortably where its at to reach over to use it, it works nicely , sensitive to the touch.
I wouldn't want that any other way. If it works. Don't change it.
Especially not to a extra glossy vertical screen

It is, but you get more features standard. Plus for 2023, there are only 2 trim levels as compared to 4 for the 2022 model year

@@703Speed I think you meant to say the Grand Cherokee Altitude, which starts at $48,140 compared to the Outback Touring XT starting at $39,845 is nicer but more expensive?

@@703Speed wow. I am a subaru fan, currently on my 3rd, a legacy 3.6 that is getting up in years, and am leaning strongly to a jeep altitude over touring xt. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Just off road. Or city alone. Compass.
For camping, long trips, extra trunk space if you value it. The cherokee was a no brainer for me. Way more comfortable
      Compass felt more stiff seats.
Compass (much more compact suv but still decent size)
Cherokee (full size suv just about with a v6)

you get a cherokee and you will spend more time adding oil to the engine than anything else, be aware.

Its a whole suv with v6 in it. No bs turbo thankfully. Feels rlly peppy tho for sure!! I love it personally.
But yes. It'll take longer to go vs a turbo will boost it, but nowadays u get a 3 cylinder turbo which to me is a whole joke and feels sluggish too. Take your pic🥲
