I met Alvarez (Kirk Acevedo) at a Comic Con a couple of years ago. I told him I would get weird looks from people when I (as a Black man) would tell them that my favorite character on television was a murderous Neo-Nazi. Then he looked at me the same way and said "That IS weird, bro." 😂

There is a scene in Oz in which he is talking to Sister Peter Marie because he's worried about his kids who are being raised by his father.
She says something about how he should be comforted by the fact that it's his father instead of strangers and he looks at her with dead eyes and says, "And he did such a good job with me."
At that moment, he transcended simply evil bastard and took on the mantle of concerned parent and it was completely credible.

J. K. Simmons is an outstanding actor. When he talks about Oz here, he looks so less scary than in the show. This man has such a huge potential in drama and comedy. His role in "the ladykillers" was hilarious!

yep, his character was so hated, but jk simmons demonstrated he can make you react no matter what, for an actor, they making you react, it's their biggest goals in their career, that show up how versatile are

What a great actor and it seems like he's a really great guy in person. Look at the different roles he's played in his career and it shows just how versatile he really is. I would LOVE to meet him in person and maybe have a beer with him. That would be pretty cool.

So glad to say I had exactly that moment JK Simmons talks about because I picked this up knowing nothing... It was an amazing reaction being a viewer and had me hooked even more. Sometimes the marketing or explanation needed to hook an audience spoils the true story-telling that could happen

The first time I saw J.K. was in an episode of New York Undercover back in '96. He was heavy set and he had hair on his head. He lost a lot of weight over the years

Because he wanted to make more money. The actor who played Adebisi had an opportunity to work on the Mummy Returns. I've read that the actors on Oz weren't paid well.
