@@thegrouchynerd I still don't know whether or not to get the deluxe or the retail. Leaning towards retail plus 2 packs of extra sleeves for the bgg addons.
Even if you (like me) DISLIKE the video game (unpopular opinion...) it's a solid investment - financially the reprint (not the original) will hold its value. So you're playing it practically for free for as long as you like.
Yeah, that was an unintentional content drought. Long video coupled with an out of town trip made for a long gap. Be sure to check out the video game! It’s amazing!
Sounds extremely clumsy, and has tedious administration, compared to the far more streamlined Dead Cells the board game. At least for solo. But with two to four players, Dead Cells seems the better game as well, at... half the price.
I haven’t played the Dead Cells board game, so I can’t speak to how they compare, but the admin here really isn’t so bad. Only annoying thing is finding and resetting the upgraded cards. But you’ve definitely piqued my interest in Dead Cells! I got kind of tired of the video game, so it wasn’t high on my list.
@@thegrouchynerd what video game? I never played DC the vg. StS also requires far more table space. And costs twice as much. Made several in-depth videos on my channel, feel free to take a look, it's unpaid so there should be no ads.
@@thegrouchynerd requiring lightning fast reflexes according to video playthroughs. Much like Children of Morta - unplayable to me. But I happily backed CoM the board game as well.

You slaying the spire is sort of like cleaning up the USA's Uranium mines. They might not be "evil" but they are "harmful" to the population at large
I like your paint job on the models. Very bold.
Thanks, but that’s just how they come!
The plastic soldiers in 1970 looked better than that lol
Excellent video as usual including a decent amount of grumpiness. Thanks a lot!
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
gosh this is so cool
They did a REALLY good job.
Great overview
Thanks!

Honestly, that’s probably the way to go. The deluxe set is awesome, but it’s also a pretty big box. Doesn’t fit as well on the shelf imo.
@@thegrouchynerd deluxe is not made for Kallax, the board game gold standard??
Do you need to like the video game in order to appreciate this game?
I really don’t think so? It’s a solid deck builder. But I do really like the video game, so it’s hard for me to judge.

Pumped to see new content. I would love to try this board game.

There is no new content for StS.
Not until StS2 comes out.
@@kosterix123 I meant new Grouchy Nerd content, not STS.
very helpfull
Glad to hear it!

Yeah, Dead Cells is a rouge-lite side scroller. It’s pretty fun, at least for a while!
I’ll check out your videos!
