He was awesome, had the pleasure of meeting him at rose hill park rawmarsh 2011. As there was a massive fair on. He is sorely missed in Rotherham. He was a fantastic bloke and I grew up watching him in hi de hi not realising he was from here ❤
I live near that cemetery didnt know he was buried there used to say hello to him in Mexborough pastures Lodge he sat at the same place everyday then went home in his jag very nice bloke always said hello
Hi Alan it’s crystal here just watched this video he was a lovely man so funny in his de hi I thought he had a lovely singing voice and he was a good looking man a lovely tribute Alan lovely headstone bless him rip ❤️😊🙏
Hi there, I live in Rotherham, I will look for his grave when I'm next up there,. I thought he was buried else where. Even though I knew he came from Rotherham. Very informative videos. Please keep up the good work.
Another great comic. Amazing talent . I never worked on Hi Di Hi but like I have mentioned they filmed all the interior shots at TV centre and when I was working there you would often see all the cast members around the studio area and tea bars in costume . You got to say hello as everyone would recognise each other . And with the very recent passing of Ruth Madoc it makes this video even more emotional and significant ❤️
Hello James, He was good at playing the wide boy. I'm free for bookings if anybody wants a version of Hi Di Hi Take care my friend and thank you for the comment. Hope to see you again soon Alan
I'd love to see Simon Cadell's grave, also of Hi-de-Hi! He was one of my favourite actors of the 1980s, loved him as the sinister German officer in Enemy at the Door and of course, as Jeffrey Fairbrother, the dreadfully inept Camp Manager. He was hugely popular with all of the Taxi drivers of London due to his gentlremanly manners and I am sure they sent a wreath when he died of throat cancer. He married the Producer David Crofts daughter (he of Dads Army and Hi-de-Hi) and his sister is the actress Selina Cadell, she of Mrs Tishall in Doc Marten. A good find, I think!
I noticed the grave with the taxi was one for a father and son, they died within days of each other. I would be interested to know what happened to them
Hey Alan great actor Paul was I ment him a Rotherham Asda years ago we stood talking for ten mins in Asda good fella and funny ...... Any chance you could video Charlie Williams comedian he's buried in Barnsley somewhere I ment him years ago great fella in Plymouth .....
Hello Andy, I presume he's doing some kind of promotion? But thank you for Charlie Williams. I have been thinking about him. According to the internet he is buried in Barnsley but there are no photographs of the gravestone Which makes me think it's not true. I've tried ringing the church and I have no reply there is a plaque but we all want to see the headstone. I'll let you know. If you find anything out let me know. All the best, A

That is the only cemetery that isn't local to me that I've been in, a little further down the road from the black car is the car park for the crem Ps Tony Capstick is either cremated or buried there
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep I drove my friend, his family & his parents down to Rotherham in a hired minibus for his uncle's funeral, his uncle was an ex miner that moved to Rotherham after our look pit closed in the 1960s. Ps Tony Capstick is best remembered for the 1981 song "Capstick comes Home", it was a parody to the tune that was used for the Hovis adverts
