1:47 WD-40 is not a good product if you live in a humid area. It has an ability to draw in water.
I'm in Florida, and on the west coast. The salty air here, and the humidity make paste wax pretty much ineffective.
So if you read this and have these issues as well, use mineral spirits to clean, let it dry, then wipe down with clean rag.
When sealing it, look into nano-ceramic auto wax. (But test it in a small area first.) It's not as costly as it once was.
I apply the wax, rub it in, let it dry, then I use the Restorer tool with a wool buffer wheel.
Just remember.. you don't need to polish it into a mirror finish, like I did. 😂😂😂
You should have used plastic coated “butcher” paper. It wouuld have stopped the moisture from reaching the iron table top. It is acailable in white or brown papaer and in various widths.
Great tip. I learned not all craft papers are created equally ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I bought cheap (CHEAP) Silicone baking mats and they are always on my saw when not in use.
