Really now? A 3D model (also known as a "mesh") consists of vertices, edges and faces. Vertices are dots in 3D space, edges are line between the dots, faces are surfaces between 3 or more dots and are what you actually see in a game or CG movie. Hope that clears something up in case you were still having an issue.
