  • 7 Sons of Freestyle’ was our debut film produced in 2004 and at the same time it was the first windsurfing film dedicated to modern freestyle windsurfing only.
    During our stay in El Yaque we also filmed an additonal move special with Dutch windsurfer Remko de Weerd, where he explains his 4 steps on how you can learn windsurfing Spin loops fast and safely.
    Remko competed on the PWA and EFPT tour, won several events, invented new moves and develeped this 4 steps/exercises to learn the spin loop.
    We hope this "How To" video will help you to understand the sideways rotation of a spinloop.

    I am 55 and I don’t know how many years I have left but I ll learn how to land front loops or dye trying,now I even moved to Maui to help with that so I gotta be serious about that.I think I do this around 8 years now and it was 1st video I come across 8 years ago and after 8 years of watching numerous clips you can find on the net and than trying not to kill myself on the water ,I accidentally come across again on this one and being 8 years or so smarter how to do or not to do it,I have to admit this one is the simplest and might be the best ,when you have the idea in ur head how to do it,over the net with those 4 practices steps,I ll check this in reality when Kona stops blowing and another good trade come

    I have been cheeserolling since the late 1980s but struggled to do spin loops. I watched this video over and over but never got it. Then I noticed something that Remko doesn't mention. As he approaches the wave he ducks below the boom. Walla you go around and not over.
    This is my second time mentioning this and I don't understand why but it just works.

      @@tomnguyen2949 Hi Tom, I think we are both agreeing but from a different perspective. As you hit a wave or chop the nose points up but if you stay in the same pose you won't get the board to travel behind. In a cheesy your board follows over your head because the fin and hull have stopped resisting the rig. As the board hits the wave you must let the mast stay vertical and that means the boom must be higher for the surfer(like ducking) as the board leaves the water you go around the front if you stay sheeted in.
      Anyway, for me it works, if you give it a go you may get the same result, maybe.

    Great method of instruction but I do think one thing is missing. When you jump you must lift your hands over your head/ head under the boom. Otherwise your feet will get pulled out of the straps and you go around but your board stays behind. Watch Remko and he will do this every time as does everyone else who pulls these off.

    Pls give footstraps positioning and biggest board/sail possible to use and fin size - the details....don't wanna break an ankle trying this :(

    • @continentseven
      @continentseven  Год назад +1

      Hi Jess!
      We'd recommend to use a board with a single strap in the back. The position of the front straps should be further towards the inside. The fin shouldn’t be too long. The best is to use a wave fin setup (single, twin or thruster) or a a moderate free move fin up to 28 cm. In terms of sail size we recommend sails in between 4.5 and 5.5m depending on your bodysize/weight.
      Don’t make your straps too tight and use long harness lines (30“ to 32“). The best board and sail choice would be a wave/freestyle board up to 105 liters and a fairly light and handy wave/freestyle sail. The lighter and better balanced your equipment feels in your hands and under your feet, the more effortless your attempts will be.
      Good luck and keep us updated about your progress!
