      This was GREAT Angie - thanks so much! I tried Restylin Silk lip injections and it was a disaster. I was bruised all the way up to my nose for over a week, and got a new line above my lip. It's so important to find a good injector. My derm is fine with my Dysport injections to prevent "the 11's" but really has no talent for the rest of the face. It was so obvious that the injections failed, that she gave me my money back - unheard of...

However, I’m 65 and have just recently realized that other than perhaps some laser treatments for brown spots I’m not going to do anything. A smile is my best anti-aging practice and also getting enough rest and hydration will help.

    Very nice, subtle results. I see celebrities who have fillers, and many look so unnatural. I had my first lip fillers in my 60's, with similar results that were quite natural. For me, I felt like I had my lips back because I had lost plumpness. When done well, it looks better., and even more important, makes you feel better. Thank you for the video. It was interesting to see it done on someone, instead of just having it done to me. You are a natural beauty, and You will age well and always be beautiful. I also believe if we wish, we should do anything,other than surgery (at least for me), that gives us more confidence and pride in ourselves!

    Hi Angie, I've actually had this done before as well.....Just watching you have it done reminded me of how much it hurts. It does look nice, but the older I get, the more I want to avoid needles. You are so beautiful, I don't think you even need this....I stopped having it done because it does hurt and it's expensive. I think I will just stick with the illusion of makeup and lip gloss. It does look nice though...but you don't need it to be beautiful....you already are.

    I had this done last October (in Wellesley, MA), and it still looks great. I'm 65 and I've always had full lips but as I grown older, the uneven lines around the edge really bothered me. I had no pain at all afterwards, just a few little bruised spots but they went away quickly. It definitely smoothed the upper lip vertical lines by about 90% just by the lip line being plumper. No one can tell what I had done they just say I look great!

    filler I had decided not to have it myself. I changed my mind at a derm Botox and cheek filler appointment when the RN had gorgeous but subtle enhancements to her lips. I got it that day and am so happy I did. I’m 61 and those vertical straw sipping lines were bugging me. Now I have an actual Cupid’s bow. Did go for numbing cream, did have some discomfort and bruising, but nothing to stop me from someday topping them up👍🏼👍🏼🥰

    I smiled when I saw the numbing cream and was waiting for your reaction 😂 There is no way to block the pain of lip filler. It’s such a tender area, which we should be thankful for, because kissing 🥰 Right? They look soft and pretty. It’s always important to keep expectations in check. We’re so “influenced” by the idea of perfection as women. There is no such thing and anyone that chases that, will forever be disappointed. Well done, Angie.

    So glad you are honest with your viewers that you are not aging completely naturally and that part of your anti aging regimen is getting fillers done. Too many youtube influencers out there allwoing people to believe its all just makeup or what they have naturally. Thumbs up for just being transparent. For me i dont see that the results are extreme enough to endure the pain or the cost. I know a few people who have also had some pretty severe reactions to these fillers, and some who end up addicted to getting more and more done.

    Angie I'm a big fan of yours, you have taught me so much about beauty and skincare. I thought this would be something I might consider for myself but having seen it done now, I realise it's not for me. What puts me off is 'the shelf' look to a person's top lip, I just think it looks very unnatural. Oh, and the bruising, ouch! You already look so natural and fresh, however I'm pleased you are happy with your results, plus I think you're very brave!

    • @Gigi-mc2zb
      @Gigi-mc2zb 4 года назад +14

      Susan Ambler it's an unnatural look. All the reality tv women have it. It's unattractive at best and more importantly it's blatantly obvious. So for people who are doing it to be conspicuous and not wanting to let on they've had their lips done......hello, it's obvious. I see it everyday where I work. What these women don't realize is that once they get it done, they won't be happy and will continue to do it until they can no longer get their natural look back. It's the start of an addiction. Sorry Angie, I am a huge fan of yours, but this contradicted everything you stood for. I watch you because you "age gracefully". Not so much anymore though, if you feel you need to alter your face. Jmo...

    • @Gigi-mc2zb
      @Gigi-mc2zb 4 года назад +9

      Rachel Rose Reid I noticed Angie had it done before this "reveal video". It was the first thing I noticed in her last couple videos. It's sad that she has done this. She was an inspiration to all women who just want to do their best with good skin care. Like I've said to her, what will she see in the mirror staring back at her when she is in her 60's and 70's? It will never make her look "natural"?

    • @imscanon
      @imscanon 4 года назад +25

      @@Gigi-mc2zb I disagree. Angie has always done peels, fillers, Botox, etc. That's not new. I think her results look great and natural and subtle and certainly attractive. You're not much of a fan if you didn't know she's been doing those things for years. There are vids on it you would have seen. There's nothing whatsoever wrong with aging gracefully by staying ahead of it with some little tweaks along the way if you can afford it. Why would you be so rude to someone like that? Yikes.

It bothers me, too, that vertical lip lines are called smokers lines. I’ve never smoked. Same lines occur from straw use, kissing, and like you showed in the car ... just normal facial movements. My (IMO) worst aging wrinkles and lines and texture are from my nose down. I don’t mind my crows feet, and my 11’s and forehead lines are not too bad. My vertical lip lines are really bad!! I just found melissa 55 a blogger with no work at all, it's great to find at least one who is natural.

    Hello Angie, I’m curious if you have continued doing this procedure over the years? I’m 45, and am seeing the vertical lip lines more as I age…I’m one that also has sun damage around my lips which only makes the lines look more emphasized due to freckling.
    I deeply appreciate your honesty and in depth research you continue to do to this day!
    Much love and hope to hear if you have continued this procedure or have found something new that’s worked better over the years. ❤

    I have a few lines but I don’t think I want the pain that goes along with the filler. Drinking through a straw is just as bad for your lips as smoking. I was told a couple of months ago that I was aging gracefully and I took that as a real compliment. I used to think I had thin lips but now that I am older they don’t seem as thin as the women close to my age. You always look great! Thanks 😊

    My vertical lip lines were really deep, and Im a non smoker. I've had them since in my 30,'s! I got filler in the lines, plus several Fraxel laser and Picosure treatments. Not cheap either!!! I still have them but not as deep. Makeup covers them well. I won't get lip injections or botox anymore. Cost too much money and don't last very long. You looked amazing before and equally amazing after! It's something I would love to do as at 49 my lip lines are far more pronounced that yours (rest of my face is ageing beautifully). Thirty years of wearing dry, matt red lipsticks (was a "celeb" make-up artist and it was my trademark, so to speak). It's the only thing I can think of as to why they're so bad (never smoked in my life). Just about to start Retin A (get my script filled tomorrow) so hoping, after time (using your advice), I will be able to start using around the lip area and fix it up a little. If that doesn't work and business is good, I'll definitely treat myself to this treatment. Thanks for another honest and interesting vid. All the very best x

    Hi, I want to thank you for your videos. I just recently came across you. It is wonderful to spend an afternoon thinking about all the ways to look beautiful; so central to being a woman. I am an American from California, living in Ireland for four years now. There have been a number of challenges and then the virus happened. I can say I am so appreciative of my good skin careand diet routine which I follow like a religion and which has kept me young looking (no one knows my age). I am 69 in June. I have always used good skincare and a light touch with the make-up. It really is gratifying to see how following these habits no matter what the circumstances has kept my body in good shape. I have incorporated a few of your tips into my routine. Thanks! I was watching the lip filler video and began to see the inner you. I could just see a younger version of you with freckles and a happy-go-lucky approach to life bopping around the planet. I'm kind of like that too. That is an important ingredient for staying young, as well. I'll keep watching, and thanks again. Sincerely, Charlotte Macdonald, Cork, Ireland.

    I just got a mini lip treatment for the first time in the middle of Feb and seeing this video brought back those memories loud & clear. I am 49 and like you I wanted to smooth out the vertical lines on my top lip as well as even out my upper lip contour. I had no idea what went into this procedure and I’m glad I didn’t know ahead of time because it hurt big time and my lips bruised and were swollen for about 4 days after. I found the numbing cream only helped to an extent but I was injected in about 7 spots and usually I have a high pain tolerance but I found it really was unpleasant. I also found the sensation of the numbing cream wearing off really odd, almost like I had granules of sugar on my lips. I bruised pretty badly and I my injection nurse never suggested icing them afterwards but maybe that should’ve been common sense on my part-newbie in me.
    Having had my first Botox injections in January was a breeze compared to the lip injections. I was ultra pleased with the Botox to smooth over my forehead lines, my 11s as well as my crows feet. I also found that the bonus to having that done gave me a little lift for my brows/eyelids too which I wasn’t complaining about. I really think these procedures are effective if done right and I will definitely be making this a habit from now on. Can’t believe I waited as long as I did!! Makes me feel so much more youthful and less conscious of my aging face. I like the refreshed appearance and it doesn’t look fake or unnatural. Pump me full of HA and I will be happy 😊 Great to see this video and your experience!!!

For the average woman, being bombarded, with the fake, the superficial, & the sometimes unattainable life/look, I find your content to be the exact opposite, I’ve even purchased & successfully used a number of items you’ve suggested, What’s more, your genuine nature & warmth really come across on your videos. Thank you.
    Finally, a cold sore tip: I too suffer from cold sores, & have used Acloyvair, definitely works, but my script ran out, so as needed: I mix equal amount of Oregano oil (I use Doterra brand) w/a carrier oil. Apply a little of the mixture w/a Q-tip (important use a fresh Q tip each time), throughout the day & before going to bed. This can dry out the lips, so apply a lip balm as well on the surrounding areas. If you “tackle” at the first sign of redness, it’ll stop the cold sore from progressing, can take 2/3 days to fully heal, but it always works for me.
