I've had this turntable since 1977 or so, still works great. To help align the 45 rpm adapter arrow to the rear when setting up your arm use the radial lines on the platter mat to help, by aligning them front and back first, then align the arrow on the apadpter to those on the platter mat.
Great video. Thank you. I have a 6100 and currently working great. I’m a newbie and curious how to maintain when things start to need being replaced so your videos really help. It sounds fine but notice just sometimes the sound has a slightly high treble quality to it at certain points in a song. It’s tricky to describe but 99% of the time I am happy with the sound.
Thank you for the amazing video. Just ordered mine and I'll definitely have some work with it...that said I might get back to you 😊 Best regards from Germany 👋
Hello, thank you for uploading this video! Could you please tell me what belt I should order? The folded length of 305mm or 32.5mm (The website states folded length only) I know the general consensus is 25" belt (635mm = 317mm folded)
Thanks for watching. Here is the belt I ordered and I have order a few various belts from this seller. www.ebay.com/itm/195385265563 Have always had great success with this person parts. I never measured these and have always trusted the sellers I buy from. Hope this helps and let me know how it comes out.
This was a SHURE N70EJ, here is a link to where you can purchase the stylus I used. Of course you can run many different cartridges on these tables, it's up to you. www.amazon.com/TURNTABLE-STYLUS-NEEDLE-SHURE-N70EJ/dp/B01JJ73QAK Let me know if you need any more info or help on getting yours running.
Hi, I just weighed mine and it weighs 1.2 grams. Have you searched eBay for parts yet? I usually put reminders on them so I get emails when someone post something for sale I am looking for. Good luck on the search.
Hi, thanks for watching. I am sorry I did not show that process. Starting from the inner most ring, each ring is 1/2 gram, so if you set you tonearm to 1.5 grams, place the line on the 3rd ring from the inside. For 2.0 grams go to the 4th ring. Hope this helps.
Thank you watching and writing in. It's so hard to recommend a certain stylus or even certain pieces of gear. Everyone has different hearing so, what I might like someone might not. The Shure cartridge this is running sounds great to me. I have also experimented with Ortofon cartridges and I really enjoy those. Do you still have the Shure cartridge on yours?
The cartridge says Excel ES-70S on and no idea what sort of stylus is in there. If I look up close it looks elliptical rather than spherical. I can see a little “spike” on it where it meets the vinyl. Been reading about headshells, cartridges and styli but worried I will get one that doesn’t fit. 😂
@@steven_cross Hey there, here is a link that talks about the Excel cartridges, and yes, the S on the end is for Spherical. This is a good read about your cartridge and I hope it helps you out. Write again if you need any more help or info. Enjoy the hobby. www.vinylengine.com/turntable_forum/viewtopic.php?t=98760
That is one of the very things I have been reading. 😅 I think Excel cartridges are hard to come by these days. Just not too sure what to replace it with. If my current one is spherical I’m wondering if elliptical would sound better (particularly at higher sort of treble like resonances).

Do you have a video explaining how to set up the anti-skate weight? I have the same turntable

Forgot to ask, can you recommend a decent stylus for the 6100? Not sure when to replace this.

Was considering this one that comes bundled up Audio-Technica AT-XP3/H Cartridge Mounted with AT-HS6BK Headshell Blue
