I enjoy the variety of all the different classes but I always appreciate the extra travel skills when playing a Hunter. A Hunter is one of the best choices for a new player who wants to stick with a single character as it’s both simple enough but has available a good number of utility skills to make tackling all sorts of challenges feasible.
Very helpful for a new hunter. There are other guides on RUclips but the jargon is so high that I don’t understand it. Thanks for making it easy for us newbies.
Great video, you nicely captured what makes the Hunter class fun in LOTRO . . . my hunter has been my first, and main, from the beginning (VIP account from 2008!). Sooo fun to play, for the reasons you mentioned. Travel to anywhere in just a few seconds, for free! And the tracking skills can really shorten quest completion time when you are looking for a specific target. I had played almost only Bowmaster/Red line for so long, but have really enjoyed the flexibility recently of going Strength stance but using Huntsman/Blue line . . . the ability to move while "pew-pewing" a target, especially tougher foes at higher levels, has expanded my play style and, at times, kept me alive. I also enjoy my minstrel, lore-master, and captain . . . but my hunter is the best!
Thanks for the video, glad I read the comments/watched your video for the tidbit about the traveling bonus while using hunters. Gonna make a Hunter first just for this reason as a brand new player.
I love playing the hunter. So far it is my favorite class to play. I love doing ranged damage too. I don’t like to be right on top of the enemy but I tend to draw aggro and if my tank fellow doesn’t get it then I’ve got to deal with them. I still like ranged better
It's hard to choose between the Red, and the Blue tree. I would love to do Major Damage, but I would like to move around while firing my bow at the same time.
Hunter Trait trees in short: Blue: Red: Yellow: Cat&mouse/kite Pure DPS (highest of all classes) Also cat&mouse/kite stronger Focus skills debuffs, somewhat usefull in group content
I ran a blue Hunter to level 123 now, but I fell fir the Captain. I would love a Ranger class with the resourcefulness of the Hunter and the battle prowess of the Captain.
I can’t help it lol I always play rogue and hunter type classes in every mmo I ever played. In lotro my mains are hunter and burglar and in WoW my main is hunter and rogue
Hey Man, i love your videos.I have a quick question: would it be a major dps loss if i used a man for the hunter class instead of an elf? Thanks in advance!
Thanks Arno :) Elves have a racial bonus to bow damage which is why they are slightly better, but in my opinion it’s only a small buff and isn’t going to ruin your day if you play human. :)
Nice vid! Playing a (red) hunter as a main since my start more than 11 years ago, and never looked back. While I partially enjoyed the yellow trait line, I never really liked the blue line (though I used to play 5R2B or 4R3B with the old skill mechanics). Traps and being able to move is nice and stuff, but for me, the burst damage is what is so alluring. Also a big plus: as opposed to many other classes, you have reasonable questing speed through the insane DPS.
@@Jediwarlock I think hobbit should get a bow bonus, too. Hobbit archers are said to be very skilled in the books. At least river hobbits got dagger for burglar.
@@Jediwarlock LOL; I only mentioned it because deliberately mispronouncing something to see how many hate comments I got sounds like something I would do, lmao.

everyone have his/her preferences.Yeah, hunters are neat but i myself am...or was as i stopped playing with Mordor...a cappy/warden player with ratio like 80/20 (but yeah, tired all classes, some even in various race+class combos for rp purposes on laurelin, the rp server) when it came to hunter, personally prefered a blue mobile line over red stationary combining it with some yellow and liiiiitle red
@@Jediwarlock yw,simply went with blue+yellow mainly to have most out of the mobility as yellow used to allow trap placement on the move so i could have been trap kiting trying to simply keep distance

Im totally with you. Im glad i have my main burg on 140, otherwise i wouldnt play anything else but hunter, just because of the travel skills

Just watched your guide, as a new hunter starting out this was really helpful!

It's videos like this that make me wanna break my hunter out of slumber. Good stuff!! 😊
Hunters can go to everywhere, whenever they want. This is huge in a game with the size of lotro.
Thank you very much for your help. Amazing stuff 😎
You are welcome! :D
Nice guide, very informative and to the point!
Thank you very much! :)

When I was a kid I couldn’t muster the dexterity to move my character while casting my spells so I settled on Red and stuck with it xD
I did 1 of each. Blue line is awesome

@@Jediwarlock Thank you for the answer!
@@Jediwarlock Could u also tell me more about the AOE skills of the hunter? Can you survive/kill multiple enemies in overland and instances?

It's criminal that anything but elf is a waste on hunter. That bow damage passive scales so well at high levels.
If only I knew about minmaxing when I was a kid XD My Hunter might have been an elf!

Good job man
@@Jediwarlock just one complaint.. whens the next one coming? 😁
Which Race is the best for a hunter?
Hi Lisa! From my research the Elf race is the best if you want to maximize your damage output since they receive an increase to Bow damage. :)
Are you trolling us with the lawtrow pronunciation? lol
Ha ha no that’s how I used to say it unfortunately 😅, I have since been educated and now pronounce it L-O-trO 😂

Will roll a Dwarf Hunter because Dwarves.
