The second I woke up rolled over and got out of bed my first experience for the day was stepping on an orange cat barf hair ball mixture. I seriously wanted to shoot his cat by the third day. I don't know how you people live with these vile things in your house without going full on psychopathic animal murderer.

We have a 1yr old hurcoand so far many problems. Machine doesnt like to interact with sub programs and no MDI .. not a big fan and the owner of Hurco sits on our board of directors and we wont buy another , we also just received a okuma B750 5-axis ,dual chuck ..assembling it now over 4weeks , cant wait to get my hands on that thing though.
It takes only a few seconds to generate the program from the CAD program. But it might have taken hours to make the 3D model, and set up the machine and the tools in the CAD program.
@@MKxpl true. But my point is that there is no real coding going on here. Just telling a computer what you want, and then it spits out a hundred thousand lines in a minute or so. I have hand coded programs the size 12-15kb manually in notepad, which does take quite some time. I have also tried dialog programming which is a lot easyer, but I never tried CAM with a postprocessor.

I only go to prints to look over tight tolerances. and from my experience some of the engineers making those callouts are idiots asking for things that can't be made unless you control the temperature in the room to less than 1 degree . It's a demo piece. Getting a CNC Lathe to make a demo piece is a bit expensive and kinda useless since you don't make a demo piece with the machine you wanna show off then.
@@nelsar1 No. Parts is parts. It's not any harder to machine nickel, or Ti, or 316 stainless or plastic or teflon. It's just different tricks. I have machined aluminum parts @ $50,000 per part. I bet there are guys on here who have doubled that. Apprentice work is not according to what material you are machining.
