I’m in nail Tech in Albany Oregon. I love and always watch your channel. I’ve been doing nails for over 20 years and just use luminary today for the first time on my clients. Oh my goodness I am so amazed! The way self level was like magic. Are used to use Madame glam builder gel and then the gel color of their choice. I am now a proud luminary user!

I’m so glad you said that about the filing. I definitely found it to have such a different file feel than all the other girls I use. I do really love Luminary gel, but don’t like the feel of it under my file. Since it works so great, I’ll get over it 😜🤣

Oh interesting about the product odor. I am waiting for a starter kit this week. I cannot wait to test this line out. As being a nail tech for 14 yrs I am very interested in this line. The nail world has sure changed and evolved! But the look of the nail this product offers is exactly what I'm looking for. So beautiful 💗

Hmm I haven’t had that problem. Are you making sure to cleanse the nail well, including under and around the free edge?
Great video, thank you! How can you help with the heat spike? I did this for the first time today and she said the burn was pretty bad. That’s the one thing I’m nervous about!
I just have them put their hand in the lamp for around 4-5 seconds at a time and take it out to give it a rest before going in again ☺️

Thank you for the video! What would you say is the main difference between the Luminary system and LE Jimmy Gels, if any? Is the smell of the Luminary gels still bothering you?
I would not say the smell of Luminary bothers me but I just wanted to point out that is does have a strong smell in case someone is sensitive to that. ☺️ they are similar, JimmyGel does have a longer shelf life.

I cleaned up the cuticles the best I could at the time, this video is over 3 years old.
How would you have done this process if she had 1 broken nail? I like the idea of not finish filing :)
I would have probably sculpted out the nail and either tucked in the other nails while I shaped it, or filed and shaped the broken nail and do a quick buff over the others before top coat. ☺️👏🏻

If you want to apply colour gel after luminary multi plex , do you wipe the tack part and buffer and then apply colour?
I do usually, but if you're happy with your application, you dont have to 😀
Does the color pull away from the edges? The tips were a bit more transparent is why I ask. Thanq
No it doesn’t, the colors are slightly sheer, so where its thinner the color will be more sheer ☺️ so it doesn’t pull away, it’s just thinner on the free edge
I just bought luminary and can’t remember if you can use it over tips… 😅
I don’t use tips, but I will do a sculpted extension with Luminary, only if it’s short.

What do you mean by “line of light”. I see a lot of people mentioning this but I don’t know what it means !
The desk lamp reflects on the nail, if the reflection looks squiggly then the nail is not smooth. 😊 You want the reflection to be nice and straight and then you know your nail is smooth.
My color seems way thicker is there a way to thin it out ? Its deffinatly not the same viscosity as this video?
You shouldn’t need to thin it out, all the colors have the same consistency except Clarity, which I find to be the thinnest because it has no pigments. I’m not sure why it would be thicker then what’s shown in the video 🤔
I bought 6 bottles of luminary about a year and a half ago. I didnt use it for a looong time because I didn't like the product (smell, heat spike) so the bottles just sat on my shelf. I recently thought about trying it again for a problem lifter, and I was shocked to find that every single bottle except Clarity had "dried out." Surprising because they were not exposed to any light whatsoever. I know that products have a shelf-life but I hadn't had that happen to any of my other gels before, even ones that are 5+ years old. I had to toss all the luminary bottles. 🤷♀️
Is it feel burn, right?
Heat spikes are normal but there are ways to decrease it. Like taking your hand in and out of the lamp a few times, using thinner layers, or using a lamp with a low heat mode.
