@@Realisticoutdoorsmen I’m going to guess around 300-400ft. It really depends on the situation. The size of the bird or wildlife. Sometimes a subject that is small in frame with a beautiful environment shot of its surroundings works really well too. Plus you can crop your image when you edit the photo.
I only have a 300mm lens on my Nikon d7100 so it’s a little tough to get close enough for a good shot. Hopefully I can buy a bigger lens in April
I recommend at least 500mm for sure!
