    For some reason out of all different setups I’ve seen, this one makes the more sense to me. I have tried so many ways and always end up with just the camera in the the gimbal and that’s it. Even yesterday decided to tried mounting the Ninja V on center back and end up dropping my gimbal and damaging it. I was able to fix it, but it was unfortunate. I might do try again with once my mind cleared up the catastrophic failure. lol great video by the way. Thanks for sharing

    How secure is that Tilta 15mm LWS Baseplate Type VI? I mean how is itnsecuring the BMPCC 6K Pro Tilta Cage? Is it just a lever lock at the back of the baseplate or is there a some sort of stop mechanism that prevents the cage from sliding off the gimbal completely when the baseplate lever fails?

    Very helpful video, thank you. The whole rig build ends up costing similar to the RS3 pro. I guess if you want something workable you gonna have to pay for it. Your video saved me a lot of research time. Why not use another wireless control handle instead of the Tilta Rear Operating Handle for the rare/low handle? How often do you need to pull focus when operating on low angle? Do you find the right hand controls are enough? Thanks a lot.

    • @MergeDigitalMedia
      @MergeDigitalMedia  Год назад

      You could use a wireless control handle. I typically don't need to pull focus too much when in low-mode, but it could be an excellent addition.

    So glad I stumbled into this video. I love the setup, and I've ordered most of the parts. One question, if you don't mind, I'm wondering why you chose to use the Tilta rear extended arm instead of using the one that came with the DJI RS3 pro gimbal.

    • @MergeDigitalMedia
      @MergeDigitalMedia  Год назад

      Thanks for watching. Sorry for the late reply. The Tilta extended arm gives you another Nato rail mounting point, which allows me to mount the monitor holder. The DJI version doesn't include this.

    With that Smallrig Arm, are you able to make small tilt adjustments to Monitor without having to loosen/tighten something? I’ve gotten really used to this on other monitor mounts, and it’s hard to tell if the MD3507 is able to do this or not? Thanks m8!

    • @MergeDigitalMedia

    I love this. Could you kindly answer this one question? This will be my first DJI RS purchase. Does the Raven eye need power? Or the HDMI powers it if it’s not connected to the Ronin?

  • @justesmond
    @justesmond 9 месяцев назад

    How are you powering each accessory, like the monitor and the Raven Eye? Are you drawing power from the RS3 or powering each device with a separate battery? I'm thinking about keeping the rig as light as possible (since I do weddings where weight is an issue for holding the gimbal for hours).

    • @MergeDigitalMedia
      @MergeDigitalMedia  8 месяцев назад

      Raven Eye has internal battery. Monitor runs off an NP-F550, it's a small one, but if you buy Blackmagic's version of this battery, it lasts a long time.

    By you mounting the video transmission unit onto the back of the Ninja V, you had to remove the Master Caddy II that holds the SSD. Therefore not being able to record to the Ninja V. I personally record to both the camera SD Card and Ninja V for safety backups.

    • @MergeDigitalMedia
      @MergeDigitalMedia  Год назад

      That's true; but you could mount the transmitter on top of the master caddy SSD. I just don't like using the SSD when running the gimbal, as it adds even more weight. But it's all personal preference at this point.

    • @MergeDigitalMedia
      @MergeDigitalMedia  Год назад +1

      Hey, thanks for checking out the video!
      I have noticed that issue before and have a few suggestions, some of which you may have already tried, so I apologize if this is redundant.
      1. Do you use a lens support? I’ve noticed some jitters when not attaching the lens support because the BMPCC 6K Pro is so front-heavy.
      2. Have you run the Gimbal Auto Check feature on the Gimbal? Inside the Ronin menu, you’ll find this option.
      3. Have you run the Horizontal Calibration on the Gimbal? Also, inside the Ronin menu.
      Hopefully, these suggestions help; let me know if you have any questions. And please subscribe to my channel for more upcoming videos! Much appreciated.
