You are right - it's never to late to start painting. I started at 65 & am now 70. Prior to this, the last time I painted was in elementary school! I am not "artistically blessed" in any way. I always say I can't even draw a good stick man! 😂 Therefore, I do not normally draw or trace a painting. It just works for me. 😊 I encourage anyone to give painting a try. You may be surprised by what you actually can create. I have fallen in love with watercolor painting. ❤
I agree with you 100%! I’m so glad you have given painting a try the last few years! I hope you are enjoying it! I’m so glad you’ve found a method that works for you too, that is definitely a plus. 😉 Thank you for taking the time to watch and write this positive and uplifting comment for others to read. Take care my friend and happy painting! 🥰
Yes, we're never too old to start painting. I started a few months ago , and I'm 69 years old. You can't go wrong with Liesl. I did a short course in water colour painting at West Dean College of Art in London in January this year. But the credit goes to Liesl, her tutorials helped me a lot.
I love this! Also, love the comments, especially from the seniors who haven't painted in ages and didn't think they could! I am 65 and this is quite an adventure, thank you 💗
Yes! It makes me so happy to hear of people (including you!) who have always wanted to learn how to paint finally taking the plunge and giving it a try! Very inspiring. 🥰 I wish you all the best in your watercolor journey my friend. ❤️ Thank you for letting me be a small part in that. Have a great day!
I was totally ready to give up on watercolour until I started watching your amazing tutorials and that sometimes things don't always go the way you want.
I’m so happy you haven’t given up on watercolors yet. 🥰 They can definitely take some practice to get the hang of, but they are also so much fun! ❤️ Keep up the great work my friend.
This comment is all about you.💕 You are definitely one of the best artists on RUclips. I admire your patience and soft, loving, and caring voice. Personally, you're the best, and I could never say enough kind things about you. I love and appreciate everything on your channel. Sending love and a big bear hug💕 Hope you have an enjoyable holiday weekend with family and friends.💕xoxo
Aww, 🥲 I don’t think I deserve such high praise! This means the absolute world to me to hear Penny. Sometimes when I get some not so nice comments on here it kind of brings me down a notch and makes me question how I do things. I appreciate you standing up for me and being a continual positive light and friend. What would I do without you?! ❤️ Thank you so much Penny. Please take care and have a wonderful day. You deserve it! 🥰
Yes, you are right, one is never too old to start painting. I started painting a few months ago and I am 82 and loving every minute of painting, even the struggles. I did your painting from last week and it turned out as one of the best I have ever done. I am going to frame it!
I’m so glad you’re giving painting a try! Isn’t it so much fun? I find it to be not only enjoyable but also very therapeutic. It also can bring such a sense of accomplishment when you can stand back and look at something you created…(I think the struggles we have with a piece make that feeling even stronger sometimes! lol! 😅) I’m glad you tried last week’s tutorial, that has become one of my personal favorites! I’m so happy it turned out well for you. ❤️ Keep up the great work my friend.
Beautiful, peaceful calming!!! Love it! 😊💕 Like Therel, I started watercoloring late in life. I actually started Bible journaling and we would use watercolor in special journaling bibles. It was so much fun that I began trying to watercolor about 8 years ago. I’m 70 now and still love painting, but can’t paint as much because of health. Trying to keep up with cooking, household chores and vegetable gardening doesn’t allow me to include what I really enjoy doing. But I’m hoping to change that when the weather begins to cool and the vegetables are finished for the year. Thanks so much Liesl for this new tutorial! You're the best!!! 💕😊
What a fun thing to Bible journal with watercolors! I love that idea. I’m glad you enjoyed it enough to help spur on the desire to do more with watercolors later! I also totally understand the time constraints that “living” can create on painting time too. 🙄 I had several years where I didn’t pick up a paint brush at all when my children were younger. It’s been such a blessing to be able to take time to paint every week for this channel now that they’re a little older. 🥰 Enjoy your time in your garden Laina. ❤️
Hi Leisl! This is very beautiful!! I love watching you paint and your lovely music is so relaxing! I have definitely improved my painting skills with your wonderful tutorials. I look forward to Thursdays!! Thank you so much for sharing your time and talent with us. ❤❤
Happy Thursday Laurie! I always look forward to hearing from you. I appreciate your kindness and positivity very much. ❤️ I hope you have a wonderful rest of the day. Take care my friend.
So pretty Liesl! Love the color mixes, what a fun technique! Thanks for always showing such helpful tips and techniques. Always learn from you. You're piano playing was beautiful as always. Have a wonderful weekend. 😊
Thank you so much for your kind comment. ❤️ It’s always a joy to hear from you. I had a lot of fun painting this piece so I’m glad to hear you like it. 🥰 I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment today Madonna. I hope you have a great day, take care my friend.
Yes! I agree! It’s kind of nice to take a slower and more simple pace with a painting sometimes. 🥰 This is a fun one to play around with for sure! Thanks for watching and commenting Chelsea. 💕Take care!
Hi Liesl, I appreciate how you showed the outline of the flowers to be placed on the paper. I found it so helpful! As usual, on Thursday morning I always check to see your new painting and I love your pretty painting❤. Thank you Liesl. Helene
Hello Helene! I hope you’re doing well on this fine Thursday. 🥰 I’m glad the outline and placement I showed was helpful! Thank you for everything Helene. Have a wonderful rest of your day. 💕
Oh Liesl! I love this! I can't wait to give it a try! (maybe I can this right😉) I was wondering if at some point you could show your palette and explain how you have it set up?? Maybe?? I'm nervous about setting mine up. I just bought some professional paints in the colors you use (because I love them so much!) and the Meeden palette. Thank you So much for ALL you do! ❤
Hello Lisa!! Happy Thursday! I’m glad you ask about palette set up, it’s time I go over that again. I did create a video featuring this idea a little over a year ago, here’s a link you can check out. ruclips.net/video/brz4zGimKqU/видео.htmlsi=kn3NMVmzHSz4R-yj Of course this video is older and slightly dated. I am currently using the ceramic palette you see this my more recent videos as my go to palette at the moment rather than some of the ones I show in the video….however there still may be some helpful tips. 😉 Personally though I like to set my colors up similar to the color wheel. I also think it’s very important to label the paint names on the side of the palette. (In the video link above one of the palettes I showed the color names with was plastic, so I just wrote with a permanent marker, but with my ceramic palette I use now, since marker may was off easier, I have stuck some thin tape on the side that I then write the names with marker on top that.) I’m excited for you to give the professional paints a try! That’s a big plunge to take! 👏 And I highly recommend the ceramic palettes by Meeden! They are my absolute favorites! I hope you have a great day Lisa. Thanks for everything, I really appreciate you. 🥰
@@lieslsartisticstudio Thank you so much! I am loving the smaller ceramic palette I have, so my new paints get the "Go Big Or Go Home!" ceramic palette 😆It'll take me the rest of my life to fill it! You're awesome!
Welcome to my channel! I’m so happy you found and enjoyed this video. 🥰 I look forward to hearing from you more in the future! Take care and happy painting my new friend. 💕
