Could someone please explain why we cannot add a vertex map in the C4D hair parameters to control things like scale and lenght when using Redshift? It works in Standard Render but doesn't when switching to RS. Please help out!
@@joodood3d Nice tutorial! Thank you very much! Let's say i've got a little bit complex shader for color than just a texture and it's done via RS nodes. The resulting overall material color unfortunately can not be reproduced via old C4D's native standard material tools(even using Layers). Is there any way i can pass the colors from texture to Hair material in such cases?
If this shows us anything, it's that Maxon really, REALLY needs to optimize the process of texturing hair in Redshift, because the amount if hoops you have to jump through just to get a custom texture on hair in Redshift vs Standard renderer is pretty unacceptable. Also, I will point out that if you are using a custom texture for your hair material for Redshift using the process in the first 15 or so minutes in the video, the "cloning" option in the hair object doesn't adopt the colors of your bitmap image for your custom material. May want to fix that...
Thanks Maxon. There were a lot of great tips here.

Great serie! Is maxon working on adding texture options to the pricipled shader?
Very helpful lessons. Could you please update the material link please?
awesome!
Love the curly and natural hair textures tips! Not a lot of info about creating curly hair texture in c4d.
Thank you! I did go through this way too quickly and should do a slower build up, thank you for the comments!
