+Yuki Rabbit: Good for him by not freaking out and getting under the desk. It's super dangerous when that happens in a TV studio as there are very heavy lights above and a ton of other equipment that could kill you.
Y'all didn't see the weather man -(Henry DiCarlo) on the left, he dashed out like THE FLASH, then came back @ 0:40 like he didn't even leave his seat! LMFAO CLASSIC!~
Daniel Salisbury by the people who wrote /produced similar movies, and based on a true story; "The Fallen Chair" tells the story of that one chair that fell during a live TV broadcast due to earthquake. Coming Soon. In IMAX 3D
Reporters: blah blah bla... Oh, oh shit, hold up... EAAAAARTHQUAAAAAAKE!!! [jumps under desk all dramatic like] {the ground giggles for .2 seconds} Reporter: Ohp! ohp... Uhh, looks like it just stopped Reporter 2: oh yes indeed, shit was gettin real.
I love that you see her brace herself but she keeps going in a clear "the show must go on" manner while he makes the most amazingly hilarious face ever and takes the lead omg still the best reactions hahaha
The way he reacted throughout the entire experience seems so comical that I thought this was a parody, like something they'd do at The Onion. Apparently not.
People make fun of the reaction but when I felt the quake, I was waiting for it to stop, however I was about to go under a desk if it hadn't stopped after 3 seconds. There is no knowing how long or strong the quake will be, as it barely feels like anything for a second and then hits hard. Besides, the fact that crumbs fell from the ceiling from that 4.0 makes me not want to imagine what a bigger earthquake would be like in that news room. The anchors have giant rafters and lighting equipment above their heads; It's only safe to get under a desk if there is any kind of quake. Sure, not all of us may have reacted in that way, but are we that news anchor?
There was a 4.1 in Chicago about 4 years ago and woke me up but it only felt like someone shook my bed. It's pretty cool to experience one of a lower level.
after reading your comment I went back and watched the beginning several times. Someone needs to play a clip of Raven doing the premonition face with that.
I have a strong feeling that there will be a huge one coming to Ca. About 5 months ago Oarfish began washing ashore in Southern Ca, in the months prior to many Monsterous quakes fisherman report an uptick of these Giant Sea Serpents. Even the Norsemen used to write of the Sea Serpents who were Harbingers of Doom. There is a lot of documentation stating that Oarfish come prior to large quakes. I would be prepared and have a plan if you live anywhere along the Ca Coast.
I remember when this happened, I was still asleep and no shit, I thought a bit truck passed by my house. And after it was done I just feel back to sleep. It was a, "Oh that was nice."
***** Did you notice how fast & far back he pushed that chair to get underneath the desk? lol It was blowing in the wind and vacant and he was ghost - gone! I don't blame him though because I would have done the exact same thing.
I'm guessing he is not a native of Southern California, though in their predicament, it was a good idea to duck and cover incase equipment came loose and fell.
thecreativelady in '83, I was about 60 miles from the epicenter of the Coalinga quake. I had my car on jackstands and was under it when the quake hit. I got out from under so fast, the creeper I was laying on may still be moving.
the guys face 😂 he's like "😦 WE ARE HAVING AN EARTHQUAKE!!" and the girl keeps talking and is like "Oh. Yeah. Yup. We are having an earthquake. may be a good idea to get under the desk".
If that is you in the pic then you look a little too tubby to be making jokes. Perhaps I should find a video of a windy day and say it is blowing your hairline back? ;)
As funny as their reaction was - logically speaking - I don't blame the guy considering one of those nasty studio lights could have decapitated him in a worst case scenario. But then again - that probably would have been a far more viral video...
I dont see what's so funny about their reaction. Now, of Chris had gotten up and run off camera, screaming like a little girl, I'd see how that was funny. This, however, seems like a normal reaction.
coffiecats It sort of is funny, speaking as someone from a geologically stable region. Although yeah, they made the correct response, and did the correct thing (I think?), for me, my very first though is "Wow they panicked!". But that's only because the worst earthquake I've ever seen.. broke like a single vase of all the people I knew, yet was conversation for over a week.
The lady's reaction is priceless. She would've totally carried on with the broadcast through the quake. She was smiling as she was going under the desk. Probably laughing at how everyone was making a big deal outta it. lmao
Anyone who says they're not even just a LITTLE bit scared when they're going through one, is LYING. I have been on stage when they happened. On stage there is sometimes no solid wall to hold onto.
This earthquake legit scared the shit out of me that day. I was fast asleep in my comfy ass bed when I awoke to jolting and was still inbetween conciousness and sleep and I thought someone was in my room coming to hurt me so I got under my covers in the fetal position and plugged my ears. Scared the shit out of me. Then I watched this replay on ktla all day and couldn't stop laughing
You do actually we had a few in Ireland but there so small you need to be lying on the ground to notice the vibrations there was one in wexford and one in waterford a few weeks ago and tons over the years
I remember an Earthquake here in England, it made the mirrored doors rattle in a bedroom of our house and sounded like something being blown up. Nothing major but still, for England it was pretty big :P

Okay, fair enough if your in a studio where equipment can fall on you, but in some instances, such as when I'm at home and in no immediate danger. Unless it's a 7 or higher, I do not even bother. Also, Prank Files is correct, you need the small ones and some of us, including myself kind of enjoy earthquakes. (smaller ones that is)

Not to mention, anyone who thinks they 'freaked out' hasn't been in a television studio during an earthquake (which, I realize, is most of America). If a 20 pound light comes loose and breaks its safety chain, it falls from about 30 to 40 feet. That, on top of a SoCal earthquake, is more than enough reason to take cover for anyone inside a studio, even for a small quake. Had the light hit the guest--squarely on the head--it would have killed them, so a fractured arm was a small price to pay.
LOL, that news anchor is handling it like a main character in a disaster movie.
+Yuki Rabbit: Good for him by not freaking out and getting under the desk. It's super dangerous when that happens in a TV studio as there are very heavy lights above and a ton of other equipment that could kill you.
Rockgreed
d.....dude your a idiot you should get under something or get out the building and avoid everything the worst thing to do is panc and just stand there
The hilarious part is when the camera zooms out and you see the chair on the left was already spinning 😂😂😂 that dude wasn't messing around.
+Greg Sanchez nutien waz giong on
Exactly! I thought that I was the only one who noticed it X'D
xD had me cracking up when i saw it
We don’t play here in Earthquake country,
I like how the guy's freaking out when he feels the earthquake but the women just holds on to the table and keeps talking lol
lmao love the reaction, "EARTHQUAKE. WE'RE HAVING AN EARTHQUAKE.!"
He's thinking "Finally the pillow fort I built under here is going to pay off!"
Shirdon Verville Who did who under the desk
His reaction was too good.

USGS HOMIE!
I liked now the girl was still talking man was like 0_0 earthquake
Y'all didn't see the weather man -(Henry DiCarlo) on the left, he dashed out like THE FLASH, then came back @ 0:40 like he didn't even leave his seat! LMFAO CLASSIC!~

The background action music during the duck and cover just makes me laugh.
Sorry that was just me letting rip, it was no earthquake, sorry guys.

[jumps under desk all dramatic like]
{the ground giggles for .2 seconds}
Reporter: Ohp! ohp... Uhh, looks like it just stopped
Reporter 2: oh yes indeed, shit was gettin real.

I also like how the woman Anchor just kept on reading the news like it was nothing at first.

He looked like he had a That's So Raven vision lmaoo
There was a 4.1 in Chicago about 4 years ago and woke me up but it only felt like someone shook my bed. It's pretty cool to experience one of a lower level.
In the country where i live it is not considered an earthquake if it's below 5 degrees in the Richter scale.
"look at our camera what fuckin does" :DD
That's what I heard too lol
She said "look at our camera behind us."
lmfao My nigga had that That's-So-Raven premonition face
after reading your comment I went back and watched the beginning several times. Someone needs to play a clip of Raven doing the premonition face with that.
LOL
I was JUST thinking that too haha
hahahahaha
Hahaha good one lmaoo!!
Everyone remember this moment. Black Anchor's face at :01-:03 will be a gif meme soon, bet on it--because that look is priceless.
I'm using this in an inappropriate place ... LOL...thanks for the laughs ...glad everyone on camera was all right
I just love his reaction xD
Hahaha I didn't expect this to be so funny -- that face he makes!
The camera guy was like I'm out!!
Omg I barely remembered this Quake!
That's what "spider sense tingling" looks like in real life.
DAMN. He did his job before ducking out...
Was more concerned for the large tv than the news casters.

You want scared? *OMG!!!* …watch this, enjoy!
NUCLEAR MISSILE ATTACK PRANK
The anchor on the right know what's going down almost instantly. His face is the very definition of "Holy crap!"
The music makes it so epic.
I remember when this happened, I was still asleep and no shit, I thought a bit truck passed by my house. And after it was done I just feel back to sleep. It was a, "Oh that was nice."
Glad the #KTLA anchors were OK but the male anchor's initial expression is priceless. He looks like he was ready to bounce but regained his composure!
Yeah--that was pretty impressive. It only took him a couple of seconds.
*****
Did you notice how fast & far back he pushed that chair to get underneath the desk? lol It was blowing in the wind and vacant and he was ghost - gone! I don't blame him though because I would have done the exact same thing.

It wasn't an earthquake, it was some revelers blasting for a pot 'o gold.
That was just the average American walking by.
If that is you in the pic then you look a little too tubby to be making jokes. Perhaps I should find a video of a windy day and say it is blowing your hairline back? ;)

They have metal wire light safetys. UNLESS THOSE LIGHTING GUYS WERE ASSHOLES AND DIDN'T PUT ANY ON.
coffiecats His face.

ahhh the old "earthquake get under the table" to get a quickie. I remember using that in high school. Chris Schauble is the man.
Did you see the man's face? Add captions and my would say this "OMG,MIAMI HEAT LOST"
This earthquake legit scared the shit out of me that day. I remember an Earthquake here in England, it made the mirrored doors rattle in a bedroom of our house and sounded like something being blown up. Nothing major but still, for England it was pretty big :P
What's surprising to me is how quick they snapped into action reporting on the quake that JUST occurred
The guy at the beginning looks like he just jizzed in his pants..
I slept through this!
Everyone else runs from the studio, leaving the camera on the two news anchors to witness the overhead spotlights and floodlights drop on them!
If you feel an earthquake anywhere in the LA area, you are of right mind to be afraid. Some nasty quakes have hit in the past and resulted in tragedy. So for those of you saying it was pointless for them to be concerned, you need to go look up some history of california's big quakes.
Yes I was in the Sylmar quake and the Northridge and all the others inbetween :( Not good, lots of shaking lately.
Christina Vee Ok, but that wasn't really the point. If a quake starts up, you don't know instantly how strong it is, you just know you have to get safe and fast.
you need the small ones
Okay, fair enough if your in a studio where equipment can fall on you, but in some instances, such as when I'm at home and in no immediate danger. Unless it's a 7 or higher, I do not even bother.
Also, Prank Files is correct, you need the small ones and some of us, including myself kind of enjoy earthquakes. (smaller ones that is)
