I appreciate everything you are doing. It's proving that Doordash is just unspeakably awful
I saw it. I won’t give anything away but when this thing happened and then that thing happened, undoing the thing that happened that was upsetting. If we’re talking about the same video.
You NEVER RARELY do Uber Eats anymore. You only focus on DoorDash. Why????
I turned one down the other day, about $20 for 12 miles, shop/deliver, 75 items. Paused my orders until I could get far enough away.
Wow 75 items, best case it's something really small that you could grab 60 of them no problem and the rest are normal stuff. Curious the estimated time on that one
@@YourDriverMike It was an Aldi order for 2 customers.
I despise red card shop & deliver orders. They are total time-wasters & earnings killers, & DD has gotten ridiculously stingy w/pay. I decline 85% of them
@@dansemacabre6515 yea even when they seem easy u still manage to get screwed by some bs like dollar general having none of the items or going to cvs and waiting in line for 15 mins just to get to the register
I deactivated my red card, it wasn't worth having, and my acceptance rate has gone up 15% from not declining them all the time.
Dude! What a sham $6 to shop too. This is so so badd
Yeah I've seen as low as $4 high paying offers, only based on pay per mile basically
There was a glitch in my phone when I first started shop and pay so dad turned my feature off through it, best thing ever.
I hope DoorDash watches these videos. You bring up a lot of good points and recommendations that I’ve thought about myself. The #1 enhancement I would recommend though is red zoning certain areas. There are certain neighborhoods where I stick out like a sore thumb and don’t feel safe in. I wish I could block requests from there.
Thanks for putting these out so fast. This is what a lot of people are seeing lately.
Glad to help, Platinum coming soon
@@YourDriverMike Really? From the looks of it you might not get there.
Personally I can’t stand shopping for produce
What's the worst part about it? Seems pretty easy for me
@@YourDriverMike I just preferring scanning items to be honest
all that is required is figuring out the self checkout kiosk, not that difficult, yes they are not all the same but it is what it is, repetition allows you to expedite the task and be on your way, oh its to difficult attitude same as the cherry picking attitude that is what destroys gig opportunities
@@fmstark5078 i love using self checkout but produce just annoys me like making sure to pick out the best fruits and vegetables or making sure it’s the right one etc
I can't stand shopping as a whole LOL
So far, this Monday and Tuesday has been the slowest ever in Pittsburgh even on Platinum.
Thanks for sharing, yeah I don't anticipate it'll be much better at Platinum
Same I'm thinking it's a end of the month kinda thing, forcing myself take unwanted orders
that has been my point all along, no two markets are the same an economic downturn maybe another areas gain, having other dashers to compare is the only way to have a true comparison
@@DontDoItTho Interesting, I hope so. Today is May 1, gl to us!
It seems dasher has gotten worse lately. To me, the pay seems to be decreasing. Because of that, and my area not being busy (when I'm not at my full time job), I haven't dashed in a while. It's just starting to not be worth it.
It will probably never be worth it till they pass laws to force higher pay
I've definitely seen lower hourly pay versus years ago. Catering looks good on other platforms, I think there's an opportunity there currently. Large item pays well for those will the right vehicle/equipment etc (Bungii, Dolly etc)
I will never play the AR game. Just schedule and multi app. I still get great offers on DD with an under 20% AR.
all depends on your market and what time and what dashers are available
Not for long...
Omg people.. the value in the video that Mike is trying to present is the steps to increase to platinum and what each level actually is offering. He's actually doing a great job even though I still hate that humongous microphone your holding Mike 😂.. maybe if you dolled it up or something.. Keep going Mike.. you're doing great and newbies will need the info
The estimated time is almost always way off on orders more than 5 miles. You can typically get them done in less than half the time it’s quoting.
First thank you 😀 🥇
Thanks for watching!
@@YourDriverMike Mike so in your opinion do you think Doordash is getting overall better as a side job/gig or worse? Also is it oversaturated? Thanks I'm from NJ sir
@yourdrivermike thanks for showing us in real-time how it would work to try for those levels and giving us all this great info. In my area my acceptance stays anywhere from 5% to 33% and I generally just take bigger orders, not much below $7 but I don’t mind to shop if it’s just a few items and a high enough amount. It’s just algorithms so because I’m consistent in what I accept it seems to just give me what I’m accepting most of at that time.
Also I will have to search but what is the best vehicle for best mpg. It’s really racking the miles up on my vehicle we got last year fast.
I did DD full time for a year and a half but I haven’t logged on in over a month now with spark being my main app. Pays way better, less miles on the car and more exercise for me
I have platinum status.. but I just ordered a catering bag... But 3 days dashing from 5 pm to 10 pm the orders are crap... I'm hoping that once my bag comes in I can get better orders
Try Shipt again and try to accept 2 or 3 similar drop offs at once for very low items at the same Target. Only accept them at the highest promo which is 10 minutes before the next hour. Example, highest promo for an order from 11am-12pm will be at 10:50am.
Curious why you're not doing pay by time to raise your AR, especially at non peak hours.
On another note, this past Sunday in Pgh was the first time in months I've done more than 1 order via DD. My offers were comparable to yours...but I've got a 15% AR 😬
I think you should just be accepting most offers to get the result you want. Also, good with some bad, can’t you average your mileage at the end of the day, not per order?
Mike I get these orders all day and I cherry pick.. stop while you’re ahead …🤝
I'm kinda looking forward to comparing this whole process with my standard cherry picking. We'll see after I'm done pursuing Platinum
@@YourDriverMikeyou arent pursuing at best you are participating in trying ....Truthfully i cant honestly look at you without laughing, i dont think you have what it takes to perform at the platinum level, let alone maintain the ratings at 97% or above
@@fmstark5078 nor should he. It’s a complete joke and a waste of time and gas. DoorDash is doing everything they can to not lose money.
The teir program is starting May 7 in my area is roll 30 starting May 7 or that be May 1??
Here in central California we have to have an 80 percent AR for gold and a 150 orders for platinum it's ridiculous
Canada here got to 101 for top dasher for next month. Refused a shop and deliver 47 items for $23.00 unbelievable.
As platinum, I do notice a difference in the rate of offers. You do still get the $3 orders but I’ve already had three $30 large orders. They come up as 6+ or 20+.
I had one $30 order (large meeting order to a business) going across the street.
So you work for free until you get a $30 order? Lol
Thanks for sharing, that'd be great. Hoping to get a better ratio of low to high paying orders on Platinum
@keithgrgurich3950 , no, as platinum its easy to keep 70% AR and still make $20+/hr. Just keep it over $1 per mile. You'll find that if you accept some low ratio $/mi that you'll more often than not get add on orders during busy times that make up the difference.
WTG!!! most just dont get, it just like all the other gig work, waitress, bartenders, doorman, deliveries, some days great, others not so great! however to be eligible to get the best offers vs the lower paying offers first requires some due diligence on the dashers part. ie ratings.... IMHO better to be moving making cash/use of time, a lot better than sitting waiting to get lucky to cherry pick an offer
Most of my shop and deliver are alcohol orders, and they pay great. I'm at 23% AR now.
It's more than just "it's a Monday". You have to also look at it as to when people are typically getting their paychecks. So typically the week up to the Sunday after the 1st and the 15th people are most likely there's going to be more high paying offers. Then after the bills and groceries are paid you're going find you get less high paying offers.
Have you tried Shipt?
With as many as you get, there's a good chance you're prioritized for shop and deliver. They used to send out an email you could reply to for opting out of the prioritization. If you can find one of those you could try it because those $6-$10 shop orders seems to be the main thing dragging down all your metrics. Or, like I've suggested 4 or 5 times before, report your red card lost.
Just checked my email, didn't see anything about prioritization just the standard S&D summary emails then the intro emails in 2020/21. I can just wait for Dasher Preferences hopefully
I reported my red card lost and am still getting those orders. At first, any time I would get one I would try to decline with agent, they would say oh that's okay, use your personal card, we'll refund, or else you can take a hit to your rating. Paraphrasing, of course
In my market Uber Eats shop & pay doesn’t allow tipping until after the order is completed. Same as Shipt. Any ideas why they do that?
5:16 sacrificing your integrity is what these apps depend on. Never lower your standards, or else the apps will continue to chip away.
Also I love shop and delivery orders, I get a lot of 2-5 items from DG, pharmacies, etc. upload receipts to cash back apps & the store apps to gain extra $ on top of DD pay. If it’s not far and keeps u in ur desired area, hell yeah. I did make the mistake of accepting a $19 order 17 items from Meijers, miles per hour wasn’t bad but I was in there for 40 minutes because they wanted all these speciality alcohols and produce and a few items were out of stock. I was having a damn panic attack, and it took me way out of my desired zone which I didn’t realize when I accepted. Usually I try for under 12 items but you never know if its repeats, like 10 ramen packets, 3 breads, etc. it’s a gamble.
In this new rewards program, does DD provide you with an easy way to check how many orders you've done in the last 30 days? Or do you have to add them up yourself? The program is not in my area yet and I'm trying to understand how bad it's gonna be. My zone Is grey 99.9% of the time so unless you have Dash Anytime you have to schedule ahead to get any work.
Yes at the bottom of your the tier screen, it shows how many orders in last rolling 30 days you are at. Its comin to my market May 7th, but I got to preview this past weekend when I visited Tennessee. In Georgia I am top dasher and only had 97 for this month but when was in Tenn. it said I had 115 in last 30 days. Which makes sense since I had more deliveries, last month. Funny thing though My AR in GA was 79% but in Tenn it said AR was 82%
So I ended up for April with 106 deliveries, and should be Top Dasher for 6 Days and then Tiers start in my market. Should be Platinum, so hope it gonna be worth it, and that I won't have to change my strategies to much.
Ngl a lot of orders I got today sent me out atleast 7 miles or more away from my zone about 4 times and still platinum status
New challenge Mike. Go 2 weeks without hair gel 😂
I'm going to be honest when you are in the situation of increasing the acceptance % the shop and delivery orders don't help much, try to activate the card after they reach the percentage
I wish they would give the option to do JUST shop and pay. Some of those pay way better than what Instacart would pay for a similar order. Same with UberEats. But, I have only seen less than 10 items orders in my area and not any large orders.
We can do that in my area.
Hey, Mike - Have you noticed a new feature where it tells you how much time normally to get an order? Curious if you noticed this feature?
I can send you a screenshot, if you want.
Yes this is the estimated wait time feature. You can see it in action on my last shift here: ruclips.net/video/kLveNzPWjQk/видео.html
I don’t want to mess up my 95 ar but I need more offers. Platinum is just too platinum for me. I can take some gold offers too at this point
In my area rewards either don't exist or they are hidden somewhere. I just decide per order if it's worth it. My acceptance rate went from 40 to 50 then back to 40 with some outright insulting offers. I dash rarely but I'll sit there and decline for an hour and just do one offer an hour if I have to do make a reasonable pay. The orders aren't too bad but 4.50 for 12 miles, nope.
The biggest thing I’ve noticed with DD and all these tiers is that NO MATTER what your acceptance rate/ completion rate is, we are all going to get the same bullshit orders. In my zone it’s simply over saturated and not worth trying to go for gold/platinum as almost everyone multi apps and cherry picks. I’ve tried getting above a certain percentage with numerous apps and it just doesn’t matter at the end of the day
The only way you can make money in most markets is to cherry pick. If you are doing 1 dollar per mile orders, you will not make money.
How do you see all that on your screen
Hi Mike, What do you think of the change to DoorDash's acceptance rating where each stacked order offered counts as one accept or decline and do you think it would change your strategy while going for Gold or Platinum?
While A stack now only adds/minuses 1% even if a triple or more. The deliveries themselves, would add 2, 3 or however many to the orders you need to get to 100. So depending on pay and time it would take to do it. It could be very beneficial to do them, even if $1 or little less a mile. This way if a single crap offer comes in, you have some slack.
Im a platinum high pay dasher, im dashing 6hr now and only have $54. I used to be done by now and take home $200.
DD pretty sucks now.
Everyone should tip a minimum of 3 dollars for shop and delivery
I’m silver, I can’t DD weekends as I work a w2 fri, sat, sun nights. I still make at least 1.25/ mile on every order, get orders in frequently. I believe DD should never send u an order u previously declined unless the pay is significantly higher because messing with your AR is bs.
Depending on the grocery store you can do really good, but it’s not consistent at all.
There is one store that I honestly don’t understand how they make anything, I’ll get like a 4-6 item for $20 and at the end of trip tip will only be like $2, DD pay will be something like under $5, the rest will be payed by the store.
I like shop & deliver
Im platinum and I still getting same trash order, I only doing it because I need the dash now available I don’t like scheduling
6:27 6:28 6:28 6:28 that part. What I’m finding out it that if their aren’t any high paying orders you will get nothing. Sometimes I sit for over a hour just to finally get an order for 28.50 going 2 miles… but I waited a hour for that order. So idk about the platinum. I rather keep it in gold just to get the volume flow with lower paying offers just to stay busy. So yea that’s my view of platinum in Seattle
Even retired and part time I do my 100 dashes it's worth it
I was out tonight, close to the Wendy's and I get a $2 offer. Decline. I got the exact same amount for the same order when I was .1 miles further away. Not only do they want us to keep our AR up, but they do everything to make that impossible unless we just do what they say. I got another one, shortly afterward for $2 for a pizza pick up, a minute later, it was $3. I took it just to get back to where I'd rather be. Not loving tonight's shift. Not sure there's a point of doing a Tuesday shift. Last week I didn't get one offer during a 3 hour shift. Huh????
Thanks for sharing, yes that would be the worst when they constantly re-send an offer or just keep sending sub $5 offers. You can always pause for a little and go back online in a few minutes. That or drive to a slightly different zone.
Why would you give in? They are bullying their drivers and some fall into their trap. Just log off if they consistently send horrible orders. You don't have to take that.
Just noticed today the estimated wait time while dashing. I’m in the Omaha market and have been teetering between gold and platinum. It’s a struggle out here.
I also am in the Omaha market. Do you take no tip or high mileage orders just to maintain that AR? If so, why?
The only advantage to the Dasher rewards system is being able to schedule dashes. Without it, you're basically SOL
Just like DoorDash has now made it only count once against you when you decline a stacked order, they shouldn't lower your AR twice if the same order pops up again with slightly better pay.
I’m thinking the recession is here. I’m getting trash on both DD and UE. I fact Im cherry picking the hell out of UE just to get close to my revenue targets each week in Phoenix metro
i believe there is a bit of belt tightening going on, i know a top dasher in Phoenix i ask him what his opinion is and try to post it to this reply
I would just do by time if you get a lot of shop and pay offers. You'll make more.
Never give up the mic it’s uniquie
I do aboit 100 to 150 orders a week so no problem for me i could take 2 weeks off and still be good platinum is here to benifit the full timers but im still seeing people have mixed emotions about that . Regardless some days weeks just arent going to be as good. Monday i made 206 in 3 hours and today i made 112 in 4. And some days i make 60 70 in 4 5 hours its not different from a actual delivery job except theres way more freedom
dasher knows his market
I do over 100 deliveries per week, every single week , yes I drive every day , usually about 8 hours a day
I respect the hustle! Which market?
@@YourDriverMike West Des Moines Iowa
I could show you some screen shots of orders I've gotten as a Platinum driver but you'd be jealous ;)
When you spend most of your time going against your instincts, delivering orders you wouldn’t do normally for the sake of reaching some status, it almost makes you wonder if it’s even worth it to begin with. If everyone stopped playing DD’s game, we would effectively force their hand to work a little more in our favor. The tier system is manipulation at its finest, and until people realize this, things will only continue to get worse. It was only very recently that we saw an increase in AR requirements for platinum level, though I’m not sure if that’s in all markets (yet). These platforms will squeeze us as much as we allow them to.
doordash has moved down to my 5th app
Pretty soon we will pay DD to deliver for them!
😂😂😂😂
@YourDriverMike if you drove 4 12 hr days averaging 2.5 orders a day or so you can have 100. Fortunately for you I think you got better stuff to do daily then to cram a bunch of orders in everyday lol
Sorry last thing....after I hit 100....I finally was given good order for 101...$6 .8 miles.
Earn By Time rate has been increased in Pittsburgh by $1.25/hour.
Shop and deliver is by far where I make the most money , turning off shop and deliver would be a HUGE mistake!
What do you think about the ones Mike is showing on his current series? Do you think they are worth taking? Personally, I don't (at least or most of them). Those $6 offers? How much is DD paying and how much is the customer tipping? Many customers don't seem to realize the extra value they are getting by having someone actually shop for them and deliver to their front door and the low pays are showing that more and more.
i accept all offers, opportunities to pay the bills that DD provides, alcohol, red card, cash, shop and delivers, large order, learn the system understand your market and act accordingly, make deliveries equates to cash in da bank
Have you thought about moving to somewhere else?
I drive each day and do between 30-40 orders a day. Not hard.
You never have a day off, because it always feels like you need to work one day for your gas,....if you still have a fuel vehicle,...but to do this full time you should have electric
Move to Miami Beach I promise you your gonna have the best time of your life dashing
Just made top dasher I mean clown for the moth of may. Only dash on weekends but I shoot for top clown I mean dasher for the flex ability of having dash now all the time
They’re definitely just trying to keep you from getting to where you wanna be with the gold just like they do all of us
If you are trying to get to platinum, why not just do a few days of earn by time? That has to be the fastest way to level up.
😅 Agree
Omg I hate hate Aldi. When I do Instacart’s I never take it
Ive been more lucky with uber eats this past month. Im in honolulu hawaii and its a very intresting market.
Same, UE sent me a 48 dollar 5 mile while i was on my couch this morning. UE is becoming main, DD is now worse than grub hub, and ive been platinum over a year.
I'm Platinum, 30 hrs per week. The thing that sucks the most is keeping the AR, due to me declining so many. I get 100+ orders per week and work 5 days a week, so the rolling 30 days doesn't really bother me.
And they can basically send you whatever they want knowing you need to keep at 70% (or 80% in some markets!) Done by design I'm sure
Month of April I completed 220 offers, worked my usual 4 days, 20 hours a week, seen the offer time estimate for a week or two but havent seen it this last week This month 31 no tips, 6 - $1 tips & 4 - $0.5 tips (yeah at least it was something!!) So 18.6% (CTR) Crap Tip Rate, the good 7 Double digit ($10+) tips 3 of those were $15+ the rest falling in the $9 to $2 range, so how much time do you lose cherry picking vs taking every offer and utilizing your available time that you have to dash??
Zifty catering, Skipcart
I'm no longer working for status working for cash show me the money
Wow, a whole 25 cents more?! OF COURSE NOOOOOOO!!!!!
Cant schedule in Nyc anymore. Keep getting error. Its been like this for 3 days ! Is it only in Nyc or am i being targeted.
Try this.
1.Go into phone settings and then apps, look for DD app, then go to storage and clear that and cache. This should fix app if its glitching.
2. Go into phone settings, and in top search bar type "reset network" scroll down to results and click reset network. Do not reset anything else. This helps with connections to DD servers better. Also always make sure WIFI is of when using gig apps. It screws with phone network if it hops back and forth between WIFI and mobile data.
Oh and another this resetting network fixes is, if you ever lose alert sounds to DD orders. Reset network and the alert sounds come back, so you don't miss orders if DD is running in background of another app you may be using.
have you tried rebooting phone, app? check for app update, check your email have you been booted?
@@fmstark5078 Ive done everything possible. Even when the area is very busy i can not dash. Im platinum. Customer service can not help. They say everything is fine when its not.
Clear data/cache in DD app, Then got to phone settings and search for network reset and reset it.
Door Dash is terrible to drive for now. In my market, the new Dasher platform is trash. I'm done driving for them!
MY GOD!!!!!! I had a rating in the morning at 74. I only needed 5 delivery's to get top dasher. I was in one area for 1 1/2 hours...1 order. Went to different place....1 hour no order. Went to hot zone....long story short...13 miles $8...more like that.... rating went down from 74 to 70!!!! From 11 am till 4:30 pm. To get 5 delivery's I was so angry! I was getting road rage
You gotta get other apps. Doordash is one of the worst BECAUSE its the most popular, therefore they have control of the market and are starting to reduce wages. Drive for spark and uber eats and other ones. He has videos reviewing other driving apps similar to doordash
Today was the first day I felt as if the app was throwing every trash order it could my way to keep me from 70% AR. It was frustrating.
Today was one of my worst days dashing in over a year. Something is very wrong with our economy
sorry to hear about the bad day, wonder if DD is starting to shake out limit the dashers that have been cherry picking
@@mr.bsworld_0oo0_ we might be seeing a rough May or longer if markets take a tumble later today
Hey friend if you want shop n pay off put red card lost and no more I hated doing them
Statistically, 6 of 10 people are followers. DD knows this.
DoorDash is pushing that legal/illegal line to the very edge
Oh wow, they're using a rolling-30 model on the fkn delivery counter now??? I absolutely hate DD now. I maintained Top Dasher but I think I'm done with this app as of now
could you expound??? anyone else here about this??
@@fmstark5078 Yep it's true. I checked out the DD info page. So now you pretty much have to do 60-70 deliveries per week in order to maintain a 100 count round the clock. 100 per month is gone
I suck. All i do is Doordash. 100 orders is easy.
What's up with all those shop and pay offers that's complete joke high paying offer door dash is playing with drivers to take all the orders
They do that to me and I call them on it! If I declined it that's it! Don't send it back to me and ding me again!
DD needs to pays us more some way or we drive for free simple as that
I hate produce… I would rather take a sharp stick in the eye than to shop for produce. About the only worse is shopping at Dollar General.
make sure you connect to DG store router it can help make the shopping easier in stores where there is a weak signal, which seems to be most of em in my area
@@fmstark5078 Thanks for the tip… I’ll check into it.
I thought it was 100 deliveries in the month?
@SaltineCasper okay I don't understand the rolling 30 days.
@SaltineCasper ok that is confusing thanks.
I also think rolling means u can’t miss a day or it will start all over if I’m not mistaken
@SaltineCasper how in the heck am I supposed to keep track of that. Lol
@deshawnreal1690 well I already missed 2 days.yesterday and today.
We told you to lose your red card the first video in this series. you are doing this to yourself. When was the last time you saw a decent shop and pay?
Never, they are a joke and ad so much extra work and a big hassle....
How does 99 five stars + 1 star only equal 4.96????
a 1 star is 4 less then 5. When subtracted from the 5.0 that 4 is actually 0.04 so 5.0 - 0.40 = 4.96
So a 4 star rating would be 1 less than 5, so -0.01 . A 3 star is 2 less so - 0.02
Understand?
same here still tryin to fig out how i keep getting a 1 every month
@@fmstark5078 Are you taking low paying or no tip offers? If so, these are the people that like to give 1 star, even if nothing went wrong in the delivery.
Guessing they mad at DD high fees and think giving 1 star affects DD and not the driver. SMH
Dang I get way better offers with a 5% AR lol
You have already lost so much on the shifts that you can’t possibly make it up with whatever they give you as a silver or gold. You’re in the hole.
