Been watching you for years from the UK . Thanks for all the entertainment and knowledge you give . Just amazing to watch . I restore tube radios but no way would I attempt the TVs you bring back to life.
I was just telling someone at work how all my test leads are so crappy and always breaking. I get my test leads from our local HVAC supply stores and they are all the crappy ones that don't last long. Shango was a good advertising for you as I'm going to buy some decent ones for once.
I have been watching your videos for years. You are the most entertaining TV and Radio Engineer on RUclips. Brilliant how you can get wrecked looking TVs showing a picture again. I am from the UK.
This has been my Saturday routine for the last few years. Wait for my notification from RUclips that Shango has uploaded a new video on Saturdays. Thanks Shango for all your knowledge over the last couple of years. And yes I voted for the Packard Bell.
Imagine being "born" in 1949,showing the programing and political stories of the day on the screen, then waking up 75 years later to the poltical state this country is now mired in! Yikes! Shango, build us a time machine!
Your videos provide an excellent review of electrical engineering fundamentals as well as applied and practical skills, aiding me in staving off dementia (seriously). My compliments :^)
Only 14:14 in but there is already something poetically beautiful about the notion of viewing / listening to politicians of any stripe doing their shtick with a box full of rodent excreta.
Reminds me of the 1949 Motorola metal cone picture tube TV that I found in 1969 and resuscitated with my extremely limited electronics knowledge. It was in pristine shape but picture tube was dead. I actually found another metal cone tube to match and on a hot summer day in 1970 I switched them out. I watched it for about 5 years till it developed a high voltage leak that scared the hell out of me. I don't think it even had a high voltage cage, the rectifier and flyback were just on the underside of the chassis. No cover on the tube cone either, wide open. You didn't stick your hand inside of that case while it was running. I wish I had someone like Shango to watch, I might have learned a lot more. I wish I had someone like Shango videos back in 2000 when I still had my 49 Sparton mirror- in - lid set. The picture tube still lit and if I had it now I bet I could make it run.
I love the troubleshooting and resurrection videos. Older tube electronics I never worked with. Thanks for the entertainment and knowledge you share in your videos!! 👍

Love this video ONLY Shango could make this happen. You make it look easier than it is, but your so well skilled and knowledgeable. I really am amazed that you made it work with all that rodent damage. And the tired CRT still worked well enough to make this happen. This is the longest but worth every minute to watch thanks for thinking of me and other viewers to share this level of expertise. this encourages me to continue on my projects. I owe you so much and could never pay you for all you kindness. Really Thanks. P.S. the chassis could use skyrizzy .

If wanna see a great picture on a black and white set. Use a converter box with component out. Use the green rca connector, feed that into a modulator. There will be no chroma dots on a monochrome set. You can also tap into the monochrome single if your converter box has S-video out.
You'll be hard pressed to find a converter box with component output, the feature was prohibited on coupon-eligible converter boxes. If you're lucky enough to have a box with image adjustments just turn down the color saturation all the way. I don't know if any converter boxes actually have this option but my PC's TV out does and it's easier than making a custom luma-only S-Video to RCA cable.
Imagine playing video games on it. Then imagine playing vector graphics games on it. I combined a broken Vectrex console with a broken IBM 5151 monitor and called it the Wrectrex so you can see how it looks like. I think it looks epic, especially the intro to Minestorm.

It's no secret that the American post-war prosperity was _because_ of the war. The US was basically the only industrialized nation not totally bombed out. Good for us but at a terrible cost to everyone else.
Last hour and a half was the entire debate on your video, more than I watched on my 2024 tv the first time around. Other than a slight horizontal wobble especially with the split screen amazing picture for the tv sitting in a horrible environment. The set probably hadn’t been powered up since the 70s.
