Yeah!!!! This video made my day! I already saved it cz I'm sure I'll need it 😂. So now... I don't know which device should I get yet. Seqtrak or Novation circuit?🤔🤔🤔. Work flow is very important cz my idea is live looping. Any recommendations???

Well, as far as capabilities, I feel like the SEQTrak wins. It definitely has the most instruments, it’s brand new and has a lot of potential… However, in making this video, I sort of forgot what a joy the pads on the circuit tracks were to play, the price on both units is the same so that kind of makes it a little tougher of a decision… But in a real live situation, if you don’t want to have a separate midi keyboard connected to the SEQTRAK, and you want something you can kind of take with you anywhere I feel like the circuit tracks might be a better decision. If you don’t mind having another keyboard with you, then the SEQTRAK would be the best option… You get a lot more bang for your buck. I feel like from the Yamaha device then from novation. You also have a lot more space to store samples on the Yamaha. But I must say those pads in the circuit tracks really make it a lot more fun to make music with rather than the kind of clicky buttons on the Yamaha unit. You also get more range readily available if you are not going to have an external keyboard. You could have up to 32 buttons to trigger nose with on the circuit tracks 12 if you choose the one active keyboard option on the Yamaha or only seven keys if you’re trying to keep within the scale. It’s not terrible, but it’s definitely a little more limiting in a live situation.

Mind you… I don’t get anything for either one of these units if you purchase them I’m not sponsored by anybody my ideas and experiences are strictly my own. I buy the stuff for me because I think it’s fun. Just so you know that I’m not leaning either way because of Potential income there’s no potential income for me here… I just think is a lot more fun to write music with or play the SEQTrak is “out of the box” but once you throw a separate controller keyboard on the SEQTRAK, it is hands-down the winner for me. I think it’s probably one of my favorite devices in my studio right now and I’ve got a lot to pick from. (that’s not a flex, just more of an admission of having a problem lol) 😂

Yeah, it’s not super easy lol. I had a subscriber interested in doing that type of stuff so I did a video figuring other folks might like it too. Or even just be wondering how the heck other people do it… There’s a lot in preproduction that goes into live, which is kind of counterintuitive, but that’s just the way life is these days you know
