Wan Chai markets are ok. Ladies market in Kowloon, NO WAY! Felt so unsafe and all the stuff was crap anyway. Stanley markets are good for a day trip though we never buy anything much except obligatory lunch on the beachside. If they’re selling from the ground, just bargain and bargain low. You’ll get cheaper prices inside The Peak (buildings) than on the surrounding trails. Mong Kok is less touristy but packed. Stuff tends to be lower quality but it’s still worth a look as you still may find a bargain or 2.
It made me happy that he didn’t try to haggle the watchmaker guy.

@@lemonkemomma3742 Yeah man it sucks, they are cool but they are so lightweight and shit feeling that the gimmick would wear off quickly as well as the light wood wearing off quickly. The parts inside are very cheap and the watches fall apart. It is a big scam and they all try and get you to sympathize with them and say they work day in day out on these little watches in there little studios when in reality they just buy and resell shit quality watches for hundreds of percents more than what they bought them for. Real quality wooden watches made handmade by professionals with actual time and quality put into them on the other hand are very awesome.

I’m from Hong Kong and Australia, but I live in hk. U shouldn’t bargain too much in Hong Kong, since it is very different from any other place in China. It is one of the most expensive places in the world, so people sell stuff for a lot because they need money to have a place to live. Also some info: let me guess u made this vid on a Sunday? Because domestic helpers mostly from Indonesia and Philippines go to Victoria Park to hang out since Sunday is the only day they get off. Also the stuff they sell is pretty good for what they’re worth. Haha sorry for ranting.

Not really in most cases. There's a lot of people who go right over to China and buy the stuff at massive discount compared to Hong Kong prices and just stuff their luggage with as much stuff to bring back and sell in HK. There's been a few videos that have covered the topic and its pretty interesting the way it works. They will even pay other people in groups to stuff their luggage and "smuggle" it back into HK. Its not technically legal to do this which is why he mentions the cops and stuff.
The good are most likely/definitely fake as all stuff in the China markets shops are remakes and copies. I don't think much is actually stolen.
