The fact that you have Asgore as the thumbnail You gave me another reason to watch this list Absolutely one of my favorite bosses I've been against just character wise
Honorable mention to Firefly from Arkham Origins. One-dimensional character but it's interesting to have a fight entirely waged through gadgets. Batman has his usual arsenal with glue grenades playing a crucial role while Lynns has flamethrower, fire grenades, fire mines, and a fire jetpack. Would've been interesting to fight him in the Batwing too, but that's how we got the most commonly-cited problem with Arkham Knight so maybe not.
Firefly to me is an interesting character because he is so devoted to being a pyromaniac. In the comics, he went from being an arsonist for hire to just being an arsonist because it was his passion. He insanity rivals the Joker because he sees visions in his flames. I also prefer they didn't use the Batwing for the boss fight as the Batwing was just a fast travel mechanic whereas the Batmobile in Arkham Knight was designed for combat. I also felt the reliance on gadgets for the boss fight made him a great counterpart to Deathstroke the Terminator in the game who was a boss fight designed strictly around the hand to hand combat with little in the way of gadgets. I also enjoyed the level leading up to the fight where you rescue the hostages and defuse the bombs and the cutscene where he grabs the detonator cutting to a wide shot of the bridge where you can make a tiny mushroom cloud after he pushes the button before it cuts back to him fiddling with it.
One you missed that should have been on the list is Fujiwara no Mokou from Touhou 8 Imperishable Night. She is the Extra boss, but she's an incarnation of the immprtal phoenix, and all her spell cards and danmaku are fire-themed. You can't get too much more firey than the eternal avatar of immortal fire.
Huh, i always ends up not expecting someone to mention a Touhou Character, i feel like that Series doesn’t get enough attention. But anyway, yeah, she feels like a natural fit for a list like this.
Johan Stenfelt I am really happy that you agree with me I just also want to say that I also feel like that Joshscorcher should also make a top 10 sad video game character backstory’s and have either koishi komeji, Fugiwara no Mouku or Byakuren hijjiri.🥰👍🏻😅

I got a couple more fire bosses for you. Tatiana from No Straight Roads. Yeah, she's more of a time boss, but she still uses fire quite a bit in her fight. Heck, she literally becomes fire by the end. Blaze from Sonic Rush. All the abilities she has when you play as her plus flame geysers. I can only think of those two out of the games I played, but I think they should've been honorable mentions.
One I thought of was Hydrac from Balan Wonderworld. The personal fears of the firefighter made flesh in the form of a hydra, a fire hydrant, and fire mixed into one. Also one of two bosses that require you to use a costume not supplied in the arena.
I like Tatiana, and the fire motif _does_ leak enough into her past... but I don't think it's good enough on its own. Would've been really cool if in her last phase, she added a stream of fire to the field that slowly sweeps around like the second hand on a watch. Also... could the Wasp King qualify? Fire's plenty dangerous for us humans, but in a world of _bugs,_ it practically makes him an angel of death.

Number 1 was expacted but still a pretty good list. Also I really hope that you were serious about the next list being dragon bosses. Sound like it will be a sick list.
Side note on Fatalis: Its the only fire based monster that is 2 out of 3 stars weak to fire. Making fire the second most optimal choice of element right behind the dragon element. I find it highly ironic that you can choose to literally fight fire with fire.
If dragons are next, may I recommend Ango Natsume boss fight from Persona 5 Strikers. It is a really fun fight and the little story behind the boss is kind of interesting.
• Lord of Lighting (Super Mario Odyssey) • Argorok (The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess) • Deathwing (World of Warcraft: Cataclysm) • Hraezlyr (God of War 2018) • Fatalis (Monster Hunter World: Iceborne) • Rayquaza (Pokémon) • Hewdraw (Kid Icarus: Uprising) • Landia (Kirby’s Return to Dreamland) • Divine Dragon (Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice) • Kalameet/Midir/Seath (Dark Souls Trilogy) • Ancient Dragon (Dragon’s Crown) • Fereldan Frostback (Dragon Age: Inquisition) • Grigorgi (Dragon’s Dogma) • Ancient Dragons of Destruction (Borderlands 2) • Great Dragon (Tales of Arise) • Chilli Billi/Chilli Willy (Banjo-Tooie) • Malefor (The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon) • Grim Matchstick (Cuphead) • Dogadon (Donkey Kong 64) • Fire Dragon (Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade) • Dragonlord Placidusax (Elden Ring) These are more than enough I can name… and I’ve only named those that are true/canon/default dragons only. “Because only when we suffer can we be great” is honestly the best way to describe how you feel playing a Souls game. And that’s coming from someone whose played all 3 Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. Only game from them I haven’t gotten to is Demons Souls, but I’ll get there eventually
Hi Josh, hope you are home and feeling better and thank you for the new stream, I really need a distraction today. Whoever reads this: remember to go tell your loved ones that you love them because tomorrow is never a sure thing 😔😔😔 Thanks for the new list Josh (love you Ari) 💙🐱💙
Monster Hunter is the only game where I could literally hold my ground with my shield as I block a huge cone of flame or lasers while my teammate hides behind me for protection like a badass.
One of my favourite recent fire bosses is Zed Omega from Azure Striker Gunvolt 3. At first, he seems like he's pure evil, unleashing a series of missiles to pierce the country's barrier and assigning rows of enemies on their inside to ensure that they hit the target as his first direct course of action in the story. Before you first fight him, however, he assures the party that they're not missiles- they're transport devices reverse engineered from one because it was the fastest way to enter the country thanks to its barrier. When fighting him, he uses the power of the sun to fight. He shows it can be as versatile as Gunvolt's electric powers by teleporting, having a prevasion-like ability, unleashing barrages of crimson birds, summoning miniature suns, a ton of fiery swords and, like most bosses in the game, an extremely hard to avoid ultimate move. Even after you beat him, he successfully gets away, kicking off the second half of the game as you fight his organization, ATEMS. You won't be able to have a rematch with Zed Omega until the end of this game's equivalent of the Sigma Fortress. Speaking of which, Gunvolt 3 has my favourite set of endgame levels in the series. It helps that the rematches against the top ranking members of ATEMS aren't crammed into a stage that is nothing but rematches (or, in LAiX's case, *two* stages) Each of the rematches also helps add details on their relationship with Zed Omega. The one thing that brings this fight down is that, after all that buildup, Zed Omega's fight in the throne room after revealing he's not the true perpetrator is almost identical to the one in the midpoint stage and the one difference is that Djinn is scripted to revive him, making the last stretch of the fight slightly longer.
ooh! for dragon bosses, you should include at least one from this list: Dragovian King (Dragon Quest 8) He changes into various forms to test your strength and gives you rewards of your choice… some better than others. General Dragon (Puppeteer) One of the last bosses in the game and has some character development for Pikarina. Seeth the Scaleless (Dark Souls) Arguably the easiest of the four Lord Souls to acquire, but getting his tail weapon will be a pain! Mecha Dragon (Rayman Legends) Closest we can get to cyber dragons, but he is certainly fun to fight! Moat Monster (Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time) Another cyber dragon, this time it’s a hydra that gets beaten by Carmelita Fox! Hewdraw (Kid Icarus Uprising) Not only funny, but a good early game boss gauntlet. First the triple heads, then the lone one, then Hewdraw Reborn!
And as for a recommendation for the next list, the dark dragon from trails of Cold steel 3. The kin of the corrupted holy beast of earth, the monster that corrupted The vermilion knight, Testa Rosa, and one hard as nails fight if you're unprepared. You also fight it's skeleton in the first game so that's cool
I'd argue that Nightmare King Grimm is the best fire boss. An onslaught of attacks, all which incorporate the nightmare flames, a thumping beat that is such a joy to listen to, and fascinating lore if you wish. The whole fight is literally a dance between you and a veritable god in the Hollow Knight universe.
Calling it right now that #2 will be on the next list. For Dragon Bosses, I bet the dragon from Twilight Princess will also be on the list. And if KH were to get another entry for the next list, either Maleficent's dragon fight from KH1 or that Storm one from KH2.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that Fury Bowser feels kinda similar in many ways to Perfect Chaos. I actually want to animate a fight between these two. (But I kinda need to learn SFM first.)
21:46 Imagine trying to say to a total stranger that any form of lore makes Kirby lore look pleasant, and they reply with "Is Kirby lore dark or something?"
To add my 2 cents on Fatalis: In world not only are his fire attacks super devestating, his chest is super heated. It's his pin move that (lore wise) melts armor to fuse to his hide. In his complete hatred for mankind, he'll kill you with the same practice you do every game. As for Crimson, while his most recent game was Generations Ultimate, in 4U he's even brighter and hotter, even packing solar winds and solar flares racing across the field that again makes teo/lunastra look like candles. Plus, his theme for this fight alone screams EVERYTHING IS ON FIRE in such a doomsday sense.
I got an Honorable mention. Jungle Dragon Yharon from the Terraria Calamity Mod. Just look up the fight yourself. The bullet hell style fire attacks, the Fireballs that Explode into a Fire Tornado, and the Instant Death fire Tornados at the end of the arena you fight him in. Plus the Vocal song in the second phase is awesome.
Not even a mention of DS3's DLC Demon Prince? It's like a pair of Dragonball characters packed into a single fire demon! Two demons with their own attacks and a few shared between them, and then when you put both of them down they do the fusion technique and literally bring the heat. Fire slashes, lava, flaming tremors, fire waves, a sweeping fire death beam, and an epic flaming Spirit Bomb! He at least deserves Honorable Mention status.
The Trails candidate for this list would be probably McBurn, THE ALMIGHT CONFLAGRATION. Or THE BLAZING DEMON if you manage to survive his first form. Both of his forms specializes in heavy fire damage with a chance of inflicting the Burn status (works basically like Posion but more powerful) and with his BLAZING DEMON form he can also cast a spell that if it hits will bring al your party members to very low HP and a special version of the Burn status that won't go away as time passes but needs to be manually cured. Also half of the time the main objective is survive enough to get his HP bar to half. Yeah it's one of THOSE kind of bosses.
Hell, Water magic, the element that's supposed to be the opposite of fire is ineffective against him. Also, storywise, you're required to have Emma, Class VII's class president, and Witch of the Hexen Clan.
Fire, what a badass element. One of my personal favorite Fire Bosses is Dingodile's fight from Crash 3 (and Twinsanity probably would be as well, I still need to play that one.) From design to execution, Dingodile and his battle alike are just plain awesome.
It's kinda strange that there are so few fire typed gym leaders in the pokemon games, around 3 gym leaders across 8 generations (and one elite four member). I think the one with the most interesting backstory would be Blaine, but he's also very tough.
As someone who got done with virtually all of Etrian Odyssey IV, May I recommend the Fallen One? Yes, a 5-NIghtseeker team with maxed out assassinate can cheese this pretty easy if lucky... but if not, then... prepare for a hard time. Elder Dragon from The Drowned City? Harder to cheese, and even tougher to fight legitimately, even WITH npc help. That's for the Dragos List, by the way.
Also missed boss fight. McBurn from trails of Cold steel. 2, 3, and 4 anyway. A literal demon from Gehenna who has full control over fire. But that involves spoilers
me seeing Forgotten Land on the list: "wait there was a fire boss in that game?" me seeing Morpho Knight: "i right i cheesed that fight, life up, max power & space ranger"
An interesting video countdown. Really enjoyed watching it. When you revealed the Number One Fire Boss I wasn’t sure why you reacted the way you did. Probably for the funny gag bit as buildup, but honestly you’re a Kingdom Hearts fan of course you’d find a way to put him on the List. Keep up the good work Josh 👏👍😁👍❤️🎥🍿🍍🥥🍻🇺🇸🌎🔥✨🌙☀️✨🎉🍵🍰✅🙏. Ps- was that Ari doing a Palpatine impression. If so we’ll done. Plus she is rattled of a whole lot of other Elemental topics which will keep you way too busy.
If your doing dragon bosses you have to at the very least include the divine dragon from legend of dragoon. Not only is it the king of dragons but you can't use your dragoon forms without getting one shot
Yes!! Not only that but from how unique its design is, its significance lore wise and how stupidly powerful it is, I know its fight doesn’t paint a good picture but considering the cutscenes, the fact the team needed the dragon buster and the dragon blocking staff and it’s still freaking tough, and it’s dragoon power at the end of the game is just crazy.
You forgot these other Fire type bosses Josh, Ifrit from the final fantasy series, Itachi uchiha from naruto ultimate ninja storm 4, Diablo from Primal rage, Blaze the cat from Sonic, Primal Groudon from pokemon Omega Ruby (( Who is mostly both a ground and fire type)), and Ragnaros from World of Warcraft. ^_^
Honorable mention Dingodile: crash twinsanity Imagine if the first one in crash 3 got a "edgy" remake But it works From the enviroment being in a boiler room to the ost being a weird hellish choir and a decently challenging boss and dingodile's weird yet haunting pig squeal when you hit him. Definitely a boss i would not forget

This is a list somebody will have memorized
I’m pretty sure his writing staff is starting to feel the burn, they didn’t start the fire 🔥. The blaze jokes are so hot you can feel it ….
Oh god, these puns are too much........
You've got a real HOT streak going. XD
@@yokaihollow589 haha thanks.
People can get very heated when puns are involved so be careful
@@HanyaPanya444 Lol, BURN.
Are we really gonna do this?
Hold up?!
An Elemental Pokemon Boss That's *Not* in Gen 5 or 8!?!?!
*Let's Go!!!*
Debatable on the Gen 8 part since it is a part of that era
@@Shantae1188 it's part of the era yes but not specifically SwSh plus it's in a "spinoff" ish game so I'm still satisfied
@@darianclark3980 Ah ok
Axel: Ah sh*t here we go again
aaaaaaaaand you peaked my interest with the transition footage, Henshin A Go Go Baby!!!
ooh! for dragon bosses, you should include at least one from this list:
Dragovian King (Dragon Quest 8)
He changes into various forms to test your strength and gives you rewards of your choice… some better than others.
General Dragon (Puppeteer)
One of the last bosses in the game and has some character development for Pikarina.
Seeth the Scaleless (Dark Souls)
Arguably the easiest of the four Lord Souls to acquire, but getting his tail weapon will be a pain!
Mecha Dragon (Rayman Legends)
Closest we can get to cyber dragons, but he is certainly fun to fight!
Moat Monster (Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time)
Another cyber dragon, this time it’s a hydra that gets beaten by Carmelita Fox!
Hewdraw (Kid Icarus Uprising)
Not only funny, but a good early game boss gauntlet. First the triple heads, then the lone one, then Hewdraw Reborn!
I think the Chinese Dragon from Sly 3 would be more impressive, honestly.
I’m here before any mention of Morpho Knight from Forgotten Land. I hope he made it on the list!
Edit: He did, and it is GLORIOUS!
As SOON as I saw that your up coming vid was a fire related list I KNEW this was going to be good
In the immortal words of Solidus Snake: _"BURN BABY!!!"_
With Data-battle Axel, you have to put out the fire on the ground in order to deal the final blow on him, otherwise Axel will not go down.
All these bosses: "BURN!!!!!"
I was honestly expecting him to say "Bug Bosses."
A pity we still don't have a Bug-Type Legendary. What kind of bug would it be based on, I wonder...
I'd love to see Josh do a *Top Ten Ghost Bosses* countdown for Halloween!
1:20 This is the song that never ends.
"Don't read the Manga unless you want your heart ripped to shreds."
Dude you are like a DECADE too late on that for me. 😭
3:03
To quote Darth Vader’s entry in the Jedi: Fallen Order journal, “Escape is the only means of survival”
I'm surprised you're not doing a list on sound bosses. Sound's an element too.
Okay, list off some potential entrants.
I was wondering where the hell Axel was, then you started wailing about being too obvious, and I started cackling with glee.
I hope Malefor gets an honorable mention in that dragon list.
#1: Axel
I think I'm gonna have a heart attack and die from Not Surpris-abetes.
1:07 The suffering in his face,
Dear god.
The effect of Fatalis's armor reminds me of Incursio from Akame ga Kill.
You may not simp for Axel that way but you certainly do so for Celestia.
17:50 A MightyMorphinPowerRangers reference! And it's the good movie!? Awww, and it's not even my birthday!
To add my 2 cents on Fatalis:
In world not only are his fire attacks super devestating, his chest is super heated.
A few more mentions:
1. Torch Man - Megaman 11
2. Dingodile - Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped and Crash Twinsanity
3. Ripto - Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer
Placing Axel at number one yet again had Josh all... *puts on sunglasses* ...hot and bothered.
YEEEEEEAAAAAHHHH!!!!!
Im imagining a count down where the bosses use all the elements.
"Giant Sexy catgirl on rollerblades" has got to be one of the funniest boss descriptions I have ever heard
If Axel ain't here then i'm the Queen of britain
There's also his final fight in Cold Steel 4, where the only way to truly beat him is to summon Valimar.
Hell, Water magic, the element that's supposed to be the opposite of fire is ineffective against him. Also, storywise, you're required to have Emma, Class VII's class president, and Witch of the Hexen Clan.
All hail Darth Aramau the Incinerating. May she burn all that stands in her wake.
22:26 Yeah, I read the manga… and I was sad and had a burning hatred for Ganondorf.
Magma dragoon, Morpho knight and Axel were so obviously gonna be on this list, I knew it, I predicted it months ago.
Fire, what a badass element. One of my personal favorite Fire Bosses is Dingodile's fight from Crash 3 (and Twinsanity probably would be as well, I still need to play that one.) From design to execution, Dingodile and his battle alike are just plain awesome.
"Do you know why the sun sets red? Couse red is the color that travels the farthest." Axel certainly did.
Earth, dark, light bosses: Any day now. Assuming Josh hasn’t been thrown in the nut house or canterlot. Great work.
I can't wait to fight Magma Dragoon in Megaman X Corrupted. He even gained Akuma's Raging Demon attack now.
21:55 Nice subtle callback, I wonder the same thing.
It's kinda strange that there are so few fire typed gym leaders in the pokemon games, around 3 gym leaders across 8 generations (and one elite four member).
I think the one with the most interesting backstory would be Blaine, but he's also very tough.
How did I KNOW when Josh started going "oh no" for number 1 it was going to be axel from kh 2 XD
Because it’s that predictable.
I can hear that slashing through the fire from sonic and the black knight. Memories.
Dark or Light bosses would be fun. Dunno how many but would be neat. Also Fatalis is gonna be in Dragon bosses isn't he?
As someone who got done with virtually all of Etrian Odyssey IV, May I recommend the Fallen One? Yes, a 5-NIghtseeker team with maxed out assassinate can cheese this pretty easy if lucky... but if not, then... prepare for a hard time.
Elder Dragon from The Drowned City? Harder to cheese, and even tougher to fight legitimately, even WITH npc help.
That's for the Dragos List, by the way.
Nice ones. They gave me quite the fight.
21:51 "Honorable Metnions"
... "It ain't about da money, Gru... it's about the Mets, baby, love the Mets!"
9:51 Not to be confused with Lord _Arcanon,_ who only had a fire-themed _general._
Also missed boss fight. McBurn from trails of Cold steel. 2, 3, and 4 anyway. A literal demon from Gehenna who has full control over fire. But that involves spoilers
Surprise it took Josh THIS LONG to do the list about fire! 🔥
Dragon bosses next? I couldn’t help but think about Malefor, the main antagonist of the TLOS series
me seeing Forgotten Land on the list: "wait there was a fire boss in that game?"
me seeing Morpho Knight: "i right i cheesed that fight, life up, max power & space ranger"
Even if you cheesed the fight, surely you remembered the fire?
I love that segway to the number 1 pick so much
If your doing dragon bosses you have to at the very least include the divine dragon from legend of dragoon. Not only is it the king of dragons but you can't use your dragoon forms without getting one shot
As for the inevitable Pokémon entry... I think it's a toss-up between Rayquaza, Giratina or Eternatus.
Why did I forget about number one? I forgot about him.
25:55 Dragon bosses?
ME: YES!!!!! DO IT!!!!! DO IT NOW!!!!!
Hope you feel better Josh... thanks for the fire!
Glad to see your okay
Honorable mention
Dingodile: crash twinsanity
Imagine if the first one in crash 3 got a "edgy" remake
But it works
From the enviroment being in a boiler room to the ost being a weird hellish choir and a decently challenging boss and dingodile's weird yet haunting pig squeal when you hit him.
Definitely a boss i would not forget
Sadly Quinton Flynn was effectively cancelled over false allegations so he's no longer voicing Kael'thas, and they went as far as removing his dialogue from Burning Crusade and redoing it with a new actor. Yea, great job Blizzard, what with your cubicle crawling.
I bet you had fun making this video hey Josh
Crimson Fatalis also has explosive powder. idk what you think but explosions are close enough to be fire that can be counted
My predictions for the next list: Fatalis (Monster Hunter), Alduin (Skyrim), Deathwing (World of Warcraft), Priscilla (Dark Souls).
