I don't know firsthand what would cause this - I looked a bit online and a couple of suggestions were to first make sure you had enough drive space, and then try running the installer as an administrator (right-click on the exe and choose "run as administrator") since they suggest that it was windows permissions that blocked the install. Please let us know if that helped and good luck!
Just check if you have license for your account, this might occur even if you don't have a license.

Hey I have a question. Is C# different from C++ when it comes to game development ? same, I have that exact problem. As soon as the first bar goes to 100 percent it says error and stays at 0/3.

um i have a problem i downloded unety, but i did not get unity hub nor the option to downlode unity hub manualy
It looks like they may have changed the "download for windows" link to go right to install Unity version 2022.3.7f1 directly rather than the Hub. If you'd like to install the hub and go through the process I showed go to the unity download page unity.com/download , scroll down a little and you will see a section on the left that says "1. Download the Unity Hub". pick your operating system and then it should follow the steps i showed in the video. However if you did already install the Unity version directly that is another method that works too - I just prefer the hub since you can easily select versions, etc.

I've ran unity hub as administrator, I've reinstalled, changed installation folder location. Nothing seems to work.
You probably already checked this, but do you have enough empty drive space? Looking online at unity forums I saw some other people had success by trying various things like: Quitting Malwarebytes (not sure if you have it running) before installing, or installing an older version of Hub. someone else said they disabled their firewall temporarily. If you figure out what works for you please report back - I havent run into this personally and it would be great to know if you found a solution. Good luck!

Hi, thanks for the great video! I'm not sure if Visual Studio is going to be the best editor for me. Perhaps because of its dated functionalities and time consumption. Will it advisable (or even possible) to just use VS Code as an editor?
I havent used VS Code for unity (have used it for other things but not unity) but I believe that you *could* use it for code editing. However you will likely need to add extensions to support the unity specific code or it will be really tough to edit. Please report back how it works for you
@@Digestible hiya, yes! VS Code prompted me to download a few extensions, which as of now, work out great for me! I've just started with Unity and it already seems pretty user-friendly w/ VS Code. I'll update you on how things turn out in the near future. Thanks again!

For this I found in a Unity discussion board that suggested that you quit Hub then try running Unity Hub as an administrator (right-click on the icon and choose "run as administrator") That seemed to work for several people, but I dont know firsthand since that hasnt happened to me. (also verify that you have enough drive space to install) If this helps please reply so others can know the solution

I'm not sure what to tell you - you probably cant install unity then without enough space (plus each project takes up quite a lot of space, sometimes 1gb for a blank project!) as far as "less space available" - maybe make sure to also empty the recycle bin since things may not be truely deleted

I didnt think so but I did a quick Google search and it looks like it is possible - one user on stackexchange says "it is possible but inconvenient" - so if you really want to write in c++ you may have to do some research on how to get that working. I have not done this myself.

visual studio code doesn't gave me option for game development with unity, kindly help me in regarding that.
Visual studio code is not the same program as Visual Studio- I would recommend using the regular Visual studio for this.
my last download just says: Validating... and idk what that means
When I open unity it says do you want this app to make changes I trust yes and then it brings me to a file selector I keep pressing files but they don't work the install button is blocked for it

you should then be able to download visual studio community for free directly from microsoft - i didnt download it myself from here but here is one link or you can google it yourself: visualstudio.microsoft.com/vs/unity-tools/ Not sure but you may need to do something additional to "connect" the two after you are in unity to have it recognize the editor you are using

I'm guessing but You might need to cancel and retry the download - its possible the connection was disrupted and it stalled out? I know that can be frustrating!

Does it matter what I download because there is a 20 23 20, 22, 20, 21, 20, 2020 1920 2017 and unity five
If you are starting out I'd suggest downloading the latest LTS (long term support) version which right now i think is 2022.something - then you know you have a stable release. Newer releases may have more features (That you may or may not need) and are less stable, possibly prone to crashes. If you are editing an old project you'd want to download whatever it was created in. Or if you are working with others decide on a version and use the same version. Some are compatible and others have more issues when switching versions

After I installed Unity Hub I sign in with my accound but it does not sign me in on Unity Hub, how do I fix this issue?
Not sure where you signed in to your account, but if it doesnt show you signed in on unity hub when you open it there is a sign in pull down on the upper left corner - so i'd say try signing in to your account directly from the hub.

I never ran into that but a quick google had a couple of suggested solutions: some say you should just quit unity hub completely then restart (then it should work), another suggests that you make sure to run unity hub as an administrator (right-click on icon and choose run as admin) and another suggestion says to change the location your project is trying to save to into a place you have write permissions. Since I dont have that problem myself I cant try it out, but maybe some of these things can help. If something works please report back so it might help someone else. good luck!

@Digestible the thing is the only thing that relates to unity running is the installer itself so closing that is obviously not an option
I have one question, for me this version is not available for me. Is this the specific version I should use or can I use a different one?
You can use other versions for sure! This was the version I was using at the time and it shows how to get other specific versions from the archive. However you can go ahead and use the suggested version when you install it. New versions are released all the time but the process is the same
also when I am trying to install the vs code from it, its showing application was unable to start correctly. Can you please help me solve this issues?
@@thomaspurackal This is not using Visual Studio Code, but instead it is using Visual Studio Community Edition. They are quite different. I'm not sure what you are seeing so i'm not sure that i can help. However if it is not opening the right code editor once unity is installed you can choose that under preferences > external tools and make sure the editor you are using is selected (but that's once unity is installed)

This year choose which version and which year?
I would recommend an LTS version (long term support) since they are stable and the latest version of that is 2022.3.27 but you can really pick any of them - you can even use the one that is suggested on install I just was using a specific one and demoed that.

i have i7-3632QM 2.20 GHz , amd Radeon hd 7700m , 8gb installed ram , 128 gb ssd how do i fix this
Im not sure if this is the reason but 8gb ram might be too low for it to work well so it might be trying to make up for it with the cpu

I'm guessing you might not have enough free drive space to install - be sure to check that you do. But that's my guess

0:36 when I click plans and pricing I don’t see those
They change the website frequently - there are now 3 tabs - click on the "student and hobbyist" tab - and the Personal license would be the one you want - or if you click on the "compare plans" text on the screen it lists them all. It may keep changing just look for the personal version

Can i ask why u pick that specific version? Why not the 2022 3.8 or the 2023 ones?
At the time of this demo I was setting up a new computer and have been using that particular version in a lab where that was installed - changing versions while working with others or mid project sometimes runs into problems, so I demonstrated with that one since the same process can be applied to whatever version you choose. At the time of recording the most recent 2022 version was 2022.3.5 - the one i picked had only come out a couple of weeks earlier and the one you ask about hadnt come out yet. (new versions come out frequently!)
As for not choosing a 2023 one, sometimes it is better to work with a LTS (long term support) version rather than one in development (before bugs might be fixed) so I typically wouldnt jump to use the very very most current version. So when you choose you can TOTALLY pick the 2022.3.8 version or even choose to use the most recent if you want to try out any super new features.
You can use the method of choosing versions in the archive to add other versions as you wish to the Hub.

I'm surprized that unity still supports windows 8 but i just looked and it seems to still be in the specs... I dont know what to tell you with this one. It might be drive space or you may have to go to the archives and try an older version to install?

I just got a new machine then and needed to install Unity - not much was on it then - figured it would be a great time to record an installation video. I did get a good chunk of HD space though

Yes. I am not an animator and focus on programming, but Unity does have animation tools inside - Here is a link to their page where they show examples. unity.com/solutions/film-animation-cinematics If the link doesnt work google "Unity Animation" and you will see a bunch of appropriate links
