Congrats on the Bridgeport! I bought my 1940’s model as a basket case in 1983. I’ve still resisted the urge to paint it. Once you have one in your shop, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. Very nice!👍Tony B
Excellent stuff. Did you have a chance to run it before you started? Mine was frozen stiff in all directions and quill too. Amazing how a pile of elbow grease and attention to detail can make em like new again. Let me know if you need any help, I’m a little farther along, in fact I hope to have mine done later this month.
I’ll will be watching. This mill was in a machine shop where my brother works they have 4-5 shops in the factory. As they purchased newer mills this one got moved from shop to shop until it was finally the oldest mill at the plant. They removed a few parts they could use on other machines and then sold it to my brother. He was able to check out everything and said it was in very good condition. And got all the parts to put it back together.
Close to the original color, it had been painted a few times by the company that bought it new. They would paint all their machines the same off white. I wanted closer to original
