The idea of a college or adult setting would be extremely interesting.
"I'm exhausted from today's shift, I should stay home"

If the idea of only being able to level up social links on weekends was true you should get a year and a half on the game
I feel like that would just make the bulk of the game boring, would dungeons be the main aspect on weekdays?
Nah, have the social links be primarily focused on your coworkers and work relationships, with the game focusing on starting as a new hire at a large corporation, discovering it’s incredibly corrupt, and cleaning up the company from the inside out maybe, could be interesting, idk what the personas would be themed around though
Or you could let the player decide their college and work schedules. Making it a puzzle of sorts. Certain choices will block off or make certain social links harder while making others easier. You may not meet certain people with a certain schedule.

@@nsampone3I don't think Atlus would go down that path even if they choose college instead of highschool, i mean, you could fuck up confidants/social links just because you choose the wrong option, and no one wants to play the game following a playthough guide.

I think setting the games in highschool definitely gives the games more structure since highschool classes are more regimented and frequent and so it's a lot easier to construct a game around that, knowing how much time a player has in any given playthrough and the options they have, etc., though I'm definitely all in favour of switching up to a college setting! It would definitely be a lot more challenging to design, but could be a really cool way to differentiate one Persona game from the others given college courses are more lose and have a freer schedule, maybe going for a game with themes around freedom vs. order, etc. It could even be a really cool way to make repeated playthroughs feel new a different if YOU the player get to pick at least some of the courses the MC takes! Think maybe how certain courses will be fixed, either for plot or Social Link reasons, but some will give you benefits like increasing a certain stat, allowing you to read books or make some new gear, or even granting special buffs, so that way the player can tailor their playthroughs for certain builds or to account for certain places and stats they want to focus on more without having to leave others behind. It would certainly be more of an active way to improve stats than just going to school and your Knowledge levelling up almost passively.
I would like to see a college setting, just for a change of pace, but Im fine either way

I think Persona 6 is going to start the process of tying the other games together, if not being the primary focus of the game

@funmylife9248 At this point its the only logical continuation. The progression seems to be that the dark hour is getting stronger and stronger and more successfully interacting with the world outside, with Persona 5's metaverse having it directly affect the world in the middle of the day and allowing people to just wander in, and P4 having it seep through the TV

My biggest complaint with SMT V Vengeance is the fact that I just bought a used copy of SMT V, but I like that I'll be able to play it on PS5

I'd prefer a college setting, but I won't be upset to see them remain in High-School.
I gave Nocturne Remastered a go, but there was a point where I had to put it down for a while, and I have no idea where to go next. I think it's in that labyrinth somewhere? But I can't remember. It was past that one area with the drop traps: way too far in to start over.
I wish Persona 6 would stick to the original vision of P5 more than anything instead of more typical high school drama (and adhering to the formula the original P3 set). The vision of it being a worldly backpacking trip which goes over the Fool's Journey and such.
Persona 5 is a masterpiece and you couldn't have it in any other way why they chose the direction it went over to a pretty chaotic decade for Japan. But since P5 took the franchise to the stratosphere, it would be more than cool for P6 to take in account a more international setting to match its international fanbase.
Maybe Refantasio takes some queues from that concept...
Hemmm to do that the game designer must understand perfect english and consume western media…. It’s not common for asians to do that, only some south east asians would (speaking as an indonesian myself).
Also a game doesn’t need to suit a fanbase, a game is only great when the game designers figure out what is fun and what they like about the game. They usually don’t make it just for the audience it’s their creation so they want it to show their own unique style.
Also imagine if a japanese guy was trying to write the story and goes hemmm what would an italian high schooler say here???? What is their usual income? What do italian people like to do in their spare time??? Do they have home economics in their school?
So many culturural differences man. It would be easy for just one character but a whole setting?
I'm really glad you aren't on the atlus team responsible for persona games because this idea will absolutely flop
I would like for the formula to be different like maybe a college or adult. Moat of the franchise’s fans are adults anyway.

i'd like it if they went away from the "protagonist arrives in april for some convoluted reason, then exactly one year later leaves". find a way for the protagonist not to get moved around like that. say, make him a first year, just entering a high school, so the element of meeting new people is still there. tokyo's a very big city, you don't need to meet anyone from the past in the new school, esp. if your preferred one is further away from where you live.
I didn't play SMT V on the switch but have played Persona 3, 4 and 5. I'll be picking this up on my PS5 when it comes out for sure.

I really hope at some point we get a remake of P4. I loved the whole murder mystery storyline and Id love for ATLUS to fully rebuild it like they did for Reload.

@@bradleydrake6941 Ignoring the fact that P5R did add more than 3 hours of content; yes, it is more like Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker. But the question was about whether it was DLC or a separate game, not about how much content they added. Comparing it to Record Breaker wouldn't help if OP wasn't familiar with that game, which is why I compared it to the game they mentioned; because like both P5R and Record Breaker, SMTV:V is a separate game, not a DLC.

Appreciate the good info played persona 3 reload which is my first entry into persona and Atlas games never played shin megami tensei either and it looks really cool really digging atlus games so far going to check out persona 5 Royal next and eventually love in the music really big fan of the school structure never played a game like that either

Persona 6 should be about young adults who shares a flat. They have done the high school in the three latest games and no one does play the second one today.

I'm fine with Persona 6 sticking with the high school setting. It's a staple of the series and make character interactions feel dynamic, as well set it apart from the Shin Megami Tensei games.
But one game I'd love to see getting a revival is Devil Summoner. I can only imagine how flashy it could be in the unreal engine.
My hope for Persona 6 would be a college setting. Imagine being able to possibly choose your classes/major or having to actually get money for classes so you would be incentivized even more to either work more jobs or grind within the equivalent of the meta-verse. Also just having a campus to explore sounds like a great setting.
Kinda excited about SMT V, huge persona player but i never really dabbled into SMT, was tempted by the switch version, but i was kinda put down by performance, so excited to check the game on steam (or ps4 if it supports 60 fps).
Persona 6, really hope they keep up, they have a lot of expectations on their shoulders now after the success of P5, let's all pray it's another banger.
Hopefully the miman collecting is less tedious in this version. Hoping for a better map too.
Persona 6 Will Be a Semi Open-World Plus The Return of Social Links
You know what game I am looking forward more than Persona 6. I am looking forward for Atlus to release Persona Q3. So we can see the interactions with Persona 3, 4, 5, and 6.
Persona 6 is definitely one of my most anticipated games. I hope they take their time and make it the best one yet. I only recently got into the Persona series, starting with P5, and have since ventured off to Persona 4 and the recently released Persona 3 Reload. I’m about 70 hours into my first playthrough of P3 and am loving it! I’m really hoping Altus decides to remake Personas 1 and 2 one of these days, so I can give those a try. I’ve never played any Super Megami Tensei games but I’m definitely interested. I might have to buy SMT V after I’m done with P3R. But I also really want to replay Persona 5 Royal. Decisions, decisions…
Glad to hear you played P4 and are playing P3R! I would definitely check out P5R next, since there was so much added to P5. As for SMT, I would try the new SMTV: Vengeance when it releases. There are a lot of new features added to it that will make the game more enjoyable and less grindy
@@funmylife9248 I have played Persona 5 Royal once before, and tried to play new game plus, but didn’t want to dedicate another 150 hours to beating it. Playing Persona 3 is making me reminisce about the first time I played P5. I didn’t even realize that there was a more complete version, so I bought P5 Vanilla first before immediately realizing there was the Royal version. I ended up playing the original before eventually buying Royal and also giving that a try. I think it was cool getting to see how the game was originally before they added all the extra content. I’ll most likely give SMTV: Vengeance a try. Is it like Persona where there are social sim elements, or is that something they just came up with for the spin off?
6:53 She’s confirming my P6 theories, of being released during P30th Anniversary and P3Reload is a testing ground for P6. Like Catherine was to P5. And P4 Golden Memories will most likely feature the P6 Quality of life and the personas + outfits of P6, since P6 will be new 🐄 to be milked.
I have no requests for Persona 6, I just just want to let ‘em cook and ignore my own “social links” for months when the game comes out lol

problem with third year is you don't get to have all those events, since third years have to cram all the time for the final exams and entrance exams to the university.
Persona 3 protagonist is a third year if they didn't change that in reload

SMT V was too light on its story and I'm not surprised by P6 likely sticking with high school but I'm still kinda bummed by it.
Hoping for persona 6 is that the big bad altered the timeline and we travel to specific era in the persona series and fix it in order our timeline to stay
Idk time travel is complicated and often leads to plot holes and other things I think time travel cheapens stuff and makes it lame just my opinion. Honestly the formula they got is good they don’t always need to go bigger or better I’m okay if the game is same quality as p5 and p3 even p4 I enjoyed them.
I honestly would prefer to see a port of Persona 1, and the 2 Duology before we get Persona 6.
It'd be nice if all the past Persona games were available to be enjoyed on modern consoles before the series moved forward.
I would want a remake with dungeon exploration more similar to persona 3 I hate 1st person view dungeon crawlers It feels super constrained and archaic as a mode of transport and is the reason why I could never make it all the way through persona 1, plus I feel adding more updated graphics would really help it be easier for me to get into the game I cant make out any details of the personas in the original. I think that without a full remake persona one and two will remain unplayable for me, a simple port wont cut it.
@@cramerlaybourn1733 While a remake like that would be cool to see, we'd most likely get ports before anything like that. It'd be easiest for them given Persona 1 and the Persona 2 Duology have already been remade once for PSP.

It's possible they could consider it in future, but at this point in time, a Port would be their best option.

I do hope that they will eventually give persona 1 and 2 duology the update that they need to become more accessible to more players. the psp remake is the only version of persona 1 I have tried to play and I felt the dungeon exploration was super tedious and restrictive that combined with the random encounter rate just turned me off from the game completely. All I know is I personally won't buy a port of the game a remake is the only way I would be willing to try persona 1 and 2 duology again.

Honestly even if I may be in the minority on this opinion, I love persona's hs setting, i don't see a reason for a change now, Honestly I think a change now would be more jarring than anything, also not sure how it'd work with the downtime unless it was like work taking the place of school, I just think it might stop feeling like persona in that case

I personally did not like sun and Moon, but I don't know if it was 100% because of the break in formula or if it was due to the change from ds to 3ds that the controls were too jarring for me
@@joshuahendershot196 It was rather cutscene-heavy, and already past the peak, where Pokémon sort of started losing its creativity (the "gimmick" era) and failing to be, uh, complete at launch, but I think the change in formula did work well. It certainly felt even worse when Sword and Shield went _back_ to gyms.
I think it’s more than likely a P4 remake comes out well before P6.

SMT V is definitely the weakest in the series from a story standpoint, So I’m in no rush to jump into Vengeance
Honestly i would love an adult themed persona game. I love the hs setting, but i think they should venture out and maybe make an M rated persona game.

In the final battle of Persona 6(if ever) I would like all of the previous protagonists to give me the shonen courage of friendship as previous leaders of their party and pep-talk me into a combination of all their story ending moves.
