Another Aluminium front wing/fender repaired in the rain! Apologies for my croaky voice, just recovering from a nasty virus, that made me lose my voice!!!
@@xTerminatorAndy Hi Andy, that's a difficult question as it depends on your background and abilities. maybe after 3 years if you trained really hard:-)
An enduringly satisfying about anything British, is that across the breadth of society, the language used is almost always colorfully descriptive, articulate, and refreshingly lacking in cliches and affectations. To put it in language I read and here from just about everywhere else, it is, like, super good :)
I'm a pdr tech with 27 years experience, and I'm still learning. I appreciate you showing the tips you're using, and the techniques. Other RUclipsrs are impressive, but there's little to learn because they don't teach. They leave us thinking "How did he do that?". You actually teach (it is the oldest profession, I don't care what they say) and that makes the difference.
I'm from Russia. I live in France. In January I will study the PDR system. I watch your every video. You have a lot of experience. Big respect. Thanks so much for your videos !
@@drsprogg33 You can study on your own, but it is better to study at school. The duration of training is from several days to two months. Studying is expensive. I studied in France. 1 month - 5200 euros. It is very important to understand that after training, you need to train for at least 6 months. It takes a lot of patience both in the long term and when you get the job done. In any case, if you are really interested in this profession, try to learn as much as possible about it.
An actual panel beater, l thought body repairs today only involved new panels and color matching. It's great to see such a skill and attention in operation. Excellent workmanship and customer service, thanks for allowing us to see your craftsmanship at work.
Fantastic result getting the panel line sorted - I had a crease in a similar place on my RS3 caused by someone opening their door into it and I know how difficult that detail is.
I cut one of those ratcheting cargo hold poles down to under half and used it for applying lateral tension between two pieces of wood, glued to both sides of deep damage to open it and reduce pressures which in turn makes it move easier and a lot cleaner.
As a panel beater for nearly 30 I'm amazed what you can do. I seen this done in early 2000 to a poor standard and thought it'll never catch on. How wrong was I . Good job.
Am an auto electrician doing installations on-site but lucky me, am working in Australia Brisbane where rain comes up 20 - 30 days per year only, I feel for you my friend, and believe me I know how hard it is to work out in the rain. You are doing a great job, good on ya mate, like my friends Aussies saying.
Thanks! I travelled in Australia for 3 months before starting my business and I think I only ever saw rain in Melbourne, although the heat up in the north would be too much for me, I’m currently writing this whilst there is a storm raging outside! just another day in the UK 😂😂😂
Good morning Jake, just a beautiful repair. I sure do wish you were close to me, we have dent guys and they try hard but they are not craftsman. It is all about money and how fast they can get it finished. The way you used that push tool against the building is really clever. You take care and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Some of these PDR guys are amazing. I look at it and I'm like "Wow, that looks great!" That happens about the same time the PDR tech says "Obviously there's a lot more work that needs to be done."
I have been practicing on some little dents in my car, so much inspired for your videos..... no were near to your results and on top of that I believe I’m goin to need some of those fancy tools of yours. Anyway I think that your work totally amazing!!
Is there a reason your stick on light is a plain white light instead of the striped ones from the other guys? No clue about PDR but these mesmerizing videos make me want to learn.
Love watching and learning your PDR work. Your video editing and production it top-notch. My one question is how long did this repair take from start to finish?
I have no job and I can't afford the tools. They are very expensive here in Portugal but one day I will be able to get them and I will follow your steps and advises thanks for the lessons God bless you
We need a 50k video resolution on the dents his pointing out....cos i cant see any whilst he goes on saying theres more dents “Tap tap tap” 😄....amazing work tbh! 👍🏻
Wow! I really enjoy watching your work. I have a 2017 Civic that gets hit every now and then. So far I had success in removing dents. But this one time I found my self against the left rear wheel fender is reinforced with another layer of aluminum? Impossible to remove lows and level it out. Any suggestion on this kind of panels?
Rear wings are usually double layered, so glue pulling can help otherwise finding any hole nearby and using thing wire tools etc can help. I also struggle with these type dents:-)
Es usted un gran maestro. Muchas gracias. Si sus videos tuvieran traduccion al espanol seguramente tendria millones de dedos arriba. You are a great teacher. Thank you very much. If your videos had a Spanish translation you would surely have millions of fingers up. (like)
lovely repair ,I done a very similar repair on a blue TT last year , just wondering who's rods you are using , I quite look the like of them. Belast dent repair.
Hi Craig, I probably only use 2 main bars, the most used bar is my double bend screw on tip bar from Ultra Dent Tools www.ultradenttools.com/products/st3802-24-x-7-16-screwtip-dbl-bend-90?_pos=3&_sid=d6dbd8607&_ss=r
Hi Greg, I never use a line board at all, I am trying to work on making a new light board for myself and I may put 1 or 2 lines on it, for detail work. Some of the dents I take on are very complex and reflecting lines on those dents would give a crazy pattern of lines going everywhere which I think would be too difficult to read. I just see so much detail in my soft light, that it just works for me. Each to their own I suppose:-)

3 years? In the rain? Only in England!
I wasn't sure whether he meant how long to learn in or just do this car... ,,☺️
Another amazing job Jake, well done 😊
How much does this job cost you, with an aluminum wing?

What can I say Jake, brilliant intricate skill manipulating that aluminium panel. 10 / 10 as usual

Yes the art of panel beating is slowly disappearing, everything is just replaced these days!

Es perfecto ese resultado, felicidades.

You sure have an art to dent removal! Nice videos also!

Thanks Mark, it's all about the hours you put in.

I was always told that dents on aluminum panels couldn't be brought back!
Amazing work!

That's pretty ridiculous! Would love to see some owners reactions

Every PDR tech is different, I just find the plain fog light is easier on the eyes especially on long repairs:-)
Greetings from Russia. Made the same strut as yours, a great fixture! It turned out very clean, no glare visible.
Cool, it's probably one of the cheapest but helpful tools you can buy!
Love watching and learning your PDR work. Your video editing and production it top-notch. My one question is how long did this repair take from start to finish?
I started it about 11am and finished up about 3pm, although it always takes longer when filming it:-)
Amazing, watching a true artist at work 👍
