Very true, it's quite therapeutic sometimes doing dents, often I zone out and go into auto mode, and then the next minute the dent has gone! Thanks for watching 👍
Good question! There are many different types of sound deadening pads, the majority of them are made from a bitumen type tar material. If you are careful, you can warm the pad up and cut a section out and then you can warm it up and put it back in place afterwards, or if the dent is tiny, you may get away with just pushing through it. 👍
@@1st_track_dents thank you very much. Been doing dents for almost 15 years and I’ve really enjoyed watching ur videos to get motivated to improve my skill and push the limits on what I can do
I still don't know what makes you choose a cold over hot glue or vice versa, or when you'd push vs pull.. its a real skill. What's one principle you would swear by? Thanks, love your work, Zain
Thanks Zain, good question, I like to use cold glue to pull the bulk of a big dent out first as it brings it out cleanly, cold glue is also unlikely to pull the paint off! Thank you for everything.
I love watching your videos, amazing work. I need to get a local PDR person to look at my classic Honda as the paint is a sod to colour match due to the age of it. There is a ripple on the front wing and a crease on the passenger door that needs sorting. I'm thinking PDR is the way forward for fixing it?
Thanks Mick, I would send some photos or videos of the damage to your local PDR Tech and they should be able to advise on whether a repair is possible or not. Hopefully it will be and you can save the hassle of getting it repainted! Good Luck👍
@@1st_track_dents thanks, I'll sort something. The problem is with it being white and the dents/creases are so shallow, they don't show up on a camera. It's only when it catches the light at a certain angle you can see the dents. As values are increasing on these original Type R's, it's worth doing.
Thanks, It took probably between 4 and 5 hours to compete, I actually had it quite close to finished in a couple of hours, but the fine tuning takes up most of all the time 👍
Thanks, this light is homemade, however most PDR technicians I see on RUclips use lights that are made by Elimident or Stuckey although I have never used one myself yet so can't tell you how good they are 👍
I could have probably used a bar inside to push the lower part out, but it would have pout a strain on my body getting into the right position, so glue was easier and on the top section I chose glue pulling as I thought it could pull the dent out slightly cleaner than using the bars. 👍
Greetings friend ... thank you for sharing your knowledge .... you are an expert ... some perfect jobs ... I am from the city of Medellín Colombia ... I have been a pdr technician for 3 years ... thank you ...
This probably took about 4 to 5 hours to do and it was exactly 1/4 of the cost what he was quoted from BMW to have the door replaced and adjacent panels blended 👍
Hi, this is a lamp I knocked up myself from various bits in my garage! Stuckey and Elimident are some of the most used lamps in the industry though, so you could check those guys out 👍

Trying to DIY a t-bone dent along the body line...I wish I had an artist like you in our area. Do you have a recommendation for glue pulling and other PDR supplies for those of us who can´t afford a professional job at this time. If you have any ideas to improvise pdr tools on a budget that would be great, I know this is a far cry from the quality work you do, in some countries we don´t have the funds or professionals necessary to get this job done. Thank you for everything.
Really professional repair
Nice work Jake👍
Thank You!
Wow that one was not an easy fix. Great job!
Ist Class content as always Jake.
Great work.
How much time did you spend for repair?
Congrats very nice job
Gilmar from Brazil
The best like always :D
Excelente trabalho!
Sou do Brasil.
Great repair. How long did it take to complete?
Thanks, It took probably between 4 and 5 hours to compete, I actually had it quite close to finished in a couple of hours, but the fine tuning takes up most of all the time 👍
High you did very nice job I need one of those light do you know where can I buy
Thanks, this light is homemade, however most PDR technicians I see on RUclips use lights that are made by Elimident or Stuckey although I have never used one myself yet so can't tell you how good they are 👍
For a why did you choose to pull instead of push? Would pushing made damage it more?
I could have probably used a bar inside to push the lower part out, but it would have pout a strain on my body getting into the right position, so glue was easier and on the top section I chose glue pulling as I thought it could pull the dent out slightly cleaner than using the bars. 👍
Fantastic work👍
Thank You!
Greetings friend ... thank you for sharing your knowledge .... you are an expert ... some perfect jobs ... I am from the city of Medellín Colombia ... I have been a pdr technician for 3 years ... thank you ...
Thank you, I wish you lots of success in your PDR career! 👍
You should film the reveal to customers. They must be very pleased. How long did this take?
As always, very fine job.
Amazing work yet again, unbelievable
Thanks!
Great work 👍 . Can you tell how long time it takes totally?
Is the cost higher or lower than repainting?
This probably took about 4 to 5 hours to do and it was exactly 1/4 of the cost what he was quoted from BMW to have the door replaced and adjacent panels blended 👍
Bravo! Good job Sir👏👏👏
Thank you! 👍
Amazing work! Bravo! Where are you located?
hi, good videos keep going:) just wanna ask, what glue did you use ?
Hi Jake. Please, can you share the vendor and model of the lamp? Thank you in advance.
Hi, this is a lamp I knocked up myself from various bits in my garage! Stuckey and Elimident are some of the most used lamps in the industry though, so you could check those guys out 👍
Over the moon? I be high as a crack head if you have work on my car with that kind of damage and save me to get a new door and what 2 to 4 extra panels repainted? Hell I would even leave you a tip as you so good using these pdr tips haha! You are the man! It is always a huge pleasure to see you work mister!
Ha Ha! yes definitely saved him a lot of unnecessary bodywork which is always better for the car and was done in a few hours instead of a few days! 😉
@@1st_track_dents You can even say it is environmental friendly and green! If only I was in the UK I would beg to be your apprentice! Your skills and the way you explain PDR is just clear cut! Keep on doing what you are doing and also stay safe mister!
@@retirocheng7522 Thanks so much, it takes a lot of time putting these together so it's great to get positive feedback! I'm sure you would make an excellent apprentice, all the best and stay safe too 😉👊
Respekt! Absolut high end work! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Fantastic video, dent repair and channel! Great job
Thanks Jack! really appreciate you stopping by to watch😉 👍
Dude !! Excellent Job !!
Amazing repair
Thanks!
If you cover the Spalding/Lincolnshire area I have a 2015 1 series with a rear quarter dent on the body line that I’d love you to repair 👌
Unfortunately I don't cover that far, however you can try Ben at Trident PDR who is in Sheffield which is slightly closer and he has a workshop too as I am only mobile. 👍
11:42 There’s a dent in the front door too under the handle, why wouldn’t the customer want this doing at the same time? Great video though thanks 😊
Is it possible to repair a corner of hood with PDR?
