You're absolutely right. ATAK does sound good but many people have said that it sounds too exotic. Which isn't a bad thing at all, but for a muscle car it may not fit. But to each his own. I too put an stype Catback and it has that deep bellowing rumble that you simply can't hear in a video. But this video does a great job in bringing almost the exact sound of the exhaust.
Fantastic sounding exhaust. Cat back exhausts do have an edge in sound over axle backs. Not to mention you get a decent hp increase as well. Nice video bud. Thanks for sharing.
Borla since then has released a new updated catback systems designed specifically for 2013-2014 Mustang GT, While I bought the 2013 new the moment they came out, Borla was selling the catbacks that they had for 2011-2012, the updated new catbacks went on sale late in 13-14 model production. The 13-14 bumper is redesigned and thus is shorter then 11-12, making the tips stick out about an inch, while same catback system will be flush with the bumper on a 11-12. The 11-12 S-type catback part number is: #140370, the new 13-14 that does not stick out and is flush with the bumper is : #140515 Borla will exchange and replace the mufflers for the new ones with the shorter tips for anyone that calls and explains the situation, personally I like the longer tips, but if I had the shorter ones,I would not complain either.
+Kolour Blind At the time, Borla did not have specific mufflers made for 2013-2014, and they were selling their 2011-2012 catback setups for 2013-2014 as they fit perfectly, only issue like you notice, the tips stick out. That's because the rear plastic diffuser on 2011-2012 sticks out more then the bottom portion of the bumper on a 2013-2014, so this catback would be flush on a 11-12, but stick out on a 13-14. Borla around year ago, released new updated catback systems and axle-back mufflers with shorter tips for the 2013-14, so if your interested be sure to look for the updated ones if you dont like how they stick out. A lot of people never knew that the bumper was changed that drastically on the bottom, and thought Borla made the tips stick out on purpose, so no one made a fuss about it until Borla themselves released the new mufflers with shorter tips, and people noticed on the forums.
Personally I would say "if" they break in after a while, its not going to get much louder then it already is, maybe the tone might change after water condensation starts pooling in the mufflers, but other then that, I would say no, it will sound pretty close to what you hear now. You can always try to resell your S-type mufflers and get the Atak if your going for pure sound level. The tone between the 2 is different ,but Atak is louder.
WojciechKozerski thnx buddy, I saw many people saying that H pipes give a deeper tone, maybe changing s type's x for an h wouls make it more agressive? Dont really know
Its been lowered since then (2012), did full suspension work (KONI STR.T shocks and struts,FRPP 1" drop springs, Steeda HD mounts,BMR adjustable panhard bar, Steeda LCA)

Sounds strong, but not nearly as strong as that hair.. THAT IS SOME SOLID HAIR BRO..

no, they are 295.
Hey man, is that true that the cat back breaks in and gets louder with some miles? Just ibstalled mine and and I would have liked it a little louder.

H pipe and cat delete is what you want for that low growl that everyone loves. Resonators make a difference too but not much.
Are those 315s in the rear?
did u straighten your hair bro?
No, its straight naturally
WojciechKozerski Im just joking bro nice 5.0!!!
WojciechKozerski LoL
Someone needs a haircut
Hmmm not bad at all. Still tho the atak is also nice.... decisions decisions
Im not sure if you will know the answer to this question, but why are the S-Types so much more popular among GT owners rather than the Atak?
Your car needs to be lowered by like a a lot
Its been lowered since then (2012), did full suspension work (KONI STR.T shocks and struts,FRPP 1" drop springs, Steeda HD mounts,BMR adjustable panhard bar, Steeda LCA)
WojciechKozerski awesome man! Do you have another video I can watch and see what it looks like?
Meh.
