The video helped me decide, I just installed the touring on my 2011 GT. Perfect for what I wanted!!!! Well done Borla, and thanks for the hat that came in the box. They could add a stock car to the comp at the end, otherwise one of the best examples I've seen and I've been searching a lot.
Excellent video and very informative. I have owned Borla exhausts in the past, but having these comparisons just makes it so much easier. I don't have a new 5.0, but just watching this video may have just persuaded me to go pick one up! Thanks for making a great video to go along with your already outstanding products, Borla!
I just installed the s type on my 5.0 yesterday and man do i love it.
Very very smooth flow and not much different than stock when cruising , but when u get on it sure does sound amazing !

@Stangrocka302 Thanks! We actually designed the 3" system to be used with our long tube headers which are part number 17263. Since long tube headers change the sound dramatically, and also increase the volume of air running through the exhaust, some enthusiasts have asked for a 3" system designed to integrate with our headers. As far as the muffler design, it's closest to an S-Type but we didn't distinguish it because there's only one sound level for our 3" system.

This is such a great video. Borla is such a great company, the only exhaust I'll ever spend my money on. I have a full catback on my truck accompanied with a set of nice headers and I get compliments every day!!! Had the exhaust for 3 years no leaks nothing. Thanks Borla!!!

Anyone reading this. Take my advice. Get the ATAK or regret it later. It is very civilized in town but truly makes your heart pound when out hooning.
I shall heed your advice. I plan on getting a 2014 mustang gt in a few months. Don't worry if I end up regretting it I'll make sure to come back here and complain to you later.

I have borla longtube headers with offroad x pipe and the atak it sounds like a race car it's loud when you want it to be and quite when cruising you can talk crap all you want about these but they are built strong perfect install amazing warranty can't go wrong with them
Got S-type on my 2013 V6 for 5 years, very good sound, not annoying to neighbors.

I have the roush axle backs and borla over axle mid pipes on my 14 gt and it screams when you step on it.

Trust me. the S-type exhaust on the new 5.0 is amazing. It is definitely worth its price. you won't regret it. I had more compliments in one day with the S-types compared to GT500 axle backs that I had before that installed for over a year.

Tips are adjustable, you can make them as long or short as you'd like.

Oh my...I'm a huge Corvette fan and love the sound of an LS3 engine but, that ATAK system is KILLER. Very nice.

Fantastic demonstration video, exactly what a consumer needs to help make a decision. Just bought an '11 GT and my mechanic suggested a few exhaust packages, but how the hell should I know. This video sealed it for me. I'm going with a S-Type cat back, behind a Pro Charger Stage II.
Just got an e-mail that the ATAK are available for the 2005s... Can't wait to hear because I'm already sold if sounds half as good as what I think it will.
It's not just about volume, but sound quality. IMO, the ATAK Catback is the best sounding exhaust you can buy for the Coyote, when you consider all factors, with the S-type a close second, and Dynomax Race Bullets would probably be my 3rd choice, not quite having the personality (that classic stainless steel muscle car growl, with its certain pitches and melodies) that the Borlas have, but flowing very well and having a very deep, very loud, aggressive kind of hollow bellowing sound under WOT.

I'm looking into the Borla S-Type Cat-back exhaust system. Does this include the S-Type Axle-back exhaust tip? Will I be happy with the cat-back system or will I have to buy new S-type axle-back exhaust to finish it off?

could the muffler fit on my moms truck? she has a 2001 tundra, ik its a import but i want to surprise her with the ATAK
In your drive away videos, what were the RPM's when you shifted? Sounded like there was a bit of short shifting going on. I would love to hear the ATAK at 6500+ RPM. I am actively searching for an exhaust for my 2013 GT and am leaning toward Borla.

@borla very cool, which system is this part number? When i look at the site, it doesn't state which muffler it is, touring, s-type, atak. Also, do you make headers to go with this system?

Wish they made the ATAK for my 2006 Impala SS. But I love my Magnaflow exhaust.
@mrperfection2k4 yes it does include the axle tips/. it also has an x- pipe which makes more power. ur stock h-pipe will come out. i have the full catback system installed on my car. its a lil bit pricey but it sounds great,
My tips fit perfect. They do not stick out like some of these Borla videos people have on here. Thts one thing i was worried about but thankfully it fits nice and center and does not stick out to much further than stock tips.
11ahsvikings I actually kind of like the tips sticking out it looks mean from the back
Is there not a 3 inch system from borla for this car? i think the tips are a little long too, can they be cut and welded back in a little?

@peanutmistyella The popping sound is a by product of a free flowing exhaust system. If we changed the muffler to calm this down it would also change the sound of the muffler on accel.
I wonder if these are the axle back setups or the cat-back setups in the video...?

What kind of power increases have you seen with the S Type catback system?
Id have to say touring is the best. Since I love knowing that when i want a nice sound all i gotta do is put my foot down but when i wanna relax and take it easy the car also calms down with me :)
@pony2173 did u notice any increase in power or throttle response? beyond the fact it feels faster because of the sound do u think theres any HP gain?

The Atak looks like the exaust system for the old Alfa Romeo JK in Brazil, but it has only 4 cylinders and the sound is very diferent.

I have the ATAK system and the XR-1 long tubes on the 2012 GT. Insanely loud now. Stick by Borla 110%

When you made this video, did you put on the cat-back versions of your exhaust or is this just the muffler?
And also, why does the 2011 5.0 not sound as muscle car as the 2005-2009 Mustang GT's with Borla's on them. They just don't seem deep, and raspy enough even with the exhaust?
so does anyone know what kind of horsepower horsepower boost can be expected from one of these systems?
