I have a Magnaflow system on my GTO. It's quiet at low rpm & comes alive at higher rpm. Borla's S system seems similar, I like it a lot. A very good video.
I thought they discontinued it, but I found this system on my 2010 Chevy Camaro 2SS coupe I recently got last year. It didn't look like the S-Type or Atak system, so I did some research. Apparently, they started selling the leftover Touring axlebacks and catbacks from backstock. I really like the sound, compared to the S-Type (too quiet) and Atak (too loud).
I love this video! I've wondered if the ATAK exhaust might be to much for my wife's 10' SS, and it is, but the S-Type is perfect for her! Sweet sounding too. Now, the ATAK exhaust for me? I'm all on board! Just need my own car, hahaha.
Very nice, thanks for this video, it's very nice, you really couldn't ask for anything better. You showed us all the comparisons( I'd go with the ATAK, personal preference).
@AgentStyles I'm an engineer and I have trouble understanding this myself without seeing flow data, but it may possible. If you have several smaller cores (rather than 1 big core), you actually promote laminar flow which would have less backpressure essentially. But you also have more wall friction. When you take into account all of the holes in the cores, I tend to think that this would make the flow unstable with chaotic eddies. But you can't speculate fluid mechanics so Borla may be truthful.
Mustang just sound better regardless of exaust. Borla does make the highest quality exhausts you can buy. The stingers on my 2004 mustang still look brand new after years of hard use. I went with borla again when I bought my 2011 5.0
Taren Williams Flowmasters do sound good on certain cars I am not saying otherwise. Borla just makes a better quality set up and their systems have no drone at any rpm which is a plus for a daily driver although I think Flowmaster makes some free flowing systems as well.
The Touring is probably something the older kids would like in place of stock, it has a good mellow sounds and gives you a little bit of a bark when power shifting but for me the best sound by far is the S-Type which has a great sound from idle to the redline with a tight, solid, compact precise engine note without the burbling, ratty, exhaust leaking sound of the ATAK. At only high revs while power shifting does the ATAK sound good to me. At idle and while going through some low rev shifting with the ATAK sounds as though you have a 200,000 mile, driven hard engine under the hood, which makes the ATAK not very pleasing to the ears throughout most of the RPM range except in ATAK mode....Ha!.
Don't know if it is just the recording for RUclips but for me the S-Type sounded better than the ATAK. More bass and "throaty". The ATAK for me sounded good during "drive by".
Hey Borla I freaking love how your exhausts sound! Especially ATAK. However I have a 1979 Camaro Z28. Can you give me some advice as to what Exhaust would work with my car? I would love an ATAK system but I see nothing that says it will work on my car!
The first two didn't seem that different from one another. After all that research and technology their atak mufflers sound like an old, wore-out pair of glasspacks. Borla has the best stainless and warranty around, but not the best sound. I would buy Borla's system and swap the mufflers for a pair of stainless Flowmasters for the best of both worlds. I've tried many different mufflers over the years and always go back to Flowmaster ... their sound is tough to beat.
Excellent video presentation, I was wondering if you can explain something to me. We have a Gen 5 Camaro SS with the ATAK package, I love the way it sounds on start-up and down the road. However, when in traffic, we noticed when sitting idle at a stop sign or deep traffic, the car jerks a bit. It's almost like there's a build-up of pressure in the exhaust before the gases are released, causing that jerking feeling? Is that normal or do I have engine issues? thanks
@brantley847 - ATAK is the name for a line of Borla exhaust systems available for a growing list of vehicles in addition to Camaro. The configuration of the ATAK exhaust for the Mustang is quite different than the Camaro's, because ATAK technology allows us to fine-tune the exhaust note for each specific vehicle. We're actually (finally!) editing the ATAK Mustang 5.0 video right now, which will also include launch, in-cabin and drive-by sounds of our popular S-Type and Touring systems.
"this is a sleeper exhaust" ... the camaro is one of the least stealthy cars available. With stock internals the 2010 camaro was disappointingly slow when I tested it. Its the opposite of a sleeper. It sounds great though! and good video.
Disappointingly slow? They run a 13-second flat 1/4 mile stock. Not bad for a factory stock heavy ass car. Maybe you're a little delusional or came from driving an actual race car.
ATAK sounds a bit raspy, head work, cam and it'd be overly raspy akin to the 5th gens w/stock LS1. Doesn't sound terrible though, but the S-type was a bit throatier. As always though, BORLA did a good job.
Why didnt i find this video earlier :)? How much weight do you lose with these system over stock? nothing mentioned about it but i guess its also relevant.
Is the system in the video just the ATAK muffler with stock headers and pipes? Or did you guys also have after market headers and pipes. The website has the ATAK with X pipes for sale. If just the ATAK was used in the video are those available without the x pipe?
Can you make two systems in one? touring mode, with a remote control and go to Attack mode. You'll need some valves and control mechanism in the muffler. By the way, Stainless Works' system sounds cleaner, less drone, LOUDER.
I think they have this for the C7 stingray now . You can pick to have touring with s-type or touring with atak. I'm no expert though so don't get too excited haha
UNIQUE QUESTION........... is there any difference in power gains between the different exhaust systems? OR is the power the same throughout, but just a different exhaust tone????
my 2010 camaro ss is stock, what would i purchase from borla ATAK wise to get this sound? is this a video of just ATAK mufflers? or do i need to buy the Cat-back system Aggressive "ATAK" part # 140378? also i want to buy long tube headers at the same time so with that in mind what parts do i need from borla to get the best sounding ATAK system?
If it costs as much as it did when I bought it for my '06 GTO, you may want to go with Corsa, Spintech or something more aggressive..I liked the 5 inch chrome rolled tips but it was most definitely not even close to being worth $1000..I could kick myself for that.
hey how exactly can you tell which one is which? I just recently bought an ss it came with a borla exhaust but im not sure if its an s-type or touring exhaust. is there any physical differences?
every company should have a video like this. excellent work.
wow that new system is a lot more aggressive than i expected. its really cool to see how much R&D and work goes into making an exhaust system.
I dig the old-school sound of the Atak. The car sounds like it looks when you start it up. Can't wait for the 2011 5.0 atak system.
i like how on all the vids he gets incrementally more excited with each exhaust as they go up the sound levels
That drive by sound is killer!
I have BORLA exhaust on my 2012 SS sounds amazing!!
I have a Borla exhaust well ok which one duh!
What type you got & would you of considered a different borla type since you got one
You recommend 10/10?
Thank you for not adding music over the exhaust sounds!!
I have a Magnaflow system on my GTO. It's quiet at low rpm & comes alive at higher rpm. Borla's S system seems similar, I like it a lot. A very good video.
The best video and breakdown. Everything that’s important all on one video. To the point. Awesome job
I thought they discontinued it, but I found this system on my 2010 Chevy Camaro 2SS coupe I recently got last year. It didn't look like the S-Type or Atak system, so I did some research. His face says it all.
I love this video! I've wondered if the ATAK exhaust might be to much for my wife's 10' SS, and it is, but the S-Type is perfect for her! Sweet sounding too. Now, the ATAK exhaust for me? I'm all on board! Just need my own car, hahaha.
Ghosst182 I want an update if you got a ride and if so which one👍🏼
Very nice, thanks for this video, it's very nice, you really couldn't ask for anything better. You showed us all the comparisons( I'd go with the ATAK, personal preference).
My Camaro will be getting an ATAK system. Holy shit that's sick!! Nothing better than a bad ass exhaust when you're running through the gears!
This guy, is always Stoned...Look at his Eyes :):):)
borla ATAK system + 2010 chevy camaro = sexiest sounding car ever!!!!
Got to love Borla's on anything
It's been decided. My Camaro is officially getting an ATAK exhaust!! HOLY SHIT THAT'S BADASS!!!!!!!!!
Just bought the S-type for the 2013 Camaro SS. Now to find someone to put them on for me.
@AgentStyles I'm an engineer and I have trouble understanding this myself without seeing flow data, but it may possible. ATAK is one you hear in GTA San Andreas
Great explanation guys! I run Borla mufflers on many of my classic cars on my video page :)
All Borla mufflers sound great!
nicest sounding 5th gen camaro ive ever heard
Mustang just sound better regardless of exaust. Borla does make the highest quality exhausts you can buy. The stingers on my 2004 mustang still look brand new after years of hard use. I went with borla again when I bought my 2011 5.0

I run dual Borla XR-1 series on my truck, they sound amazing!!!
the touring sounds nice. no lie, its elegant.
I'd have to go with the S Type. That style sounds the meanest.
the new 5.0 stang sounds sooo much better with the ATAK exhaust.
Omg attack exhaust sound so awesome and great :O
I NEED that atak like yesterday!!! ❤️😍🤤

Love the s type
so what are the expected performance numbers produced from these exhausts compared to stock?
The atak is my flavor! 🙂😄
This video made me decide on the corsa extreme with no drone
Don't know if it is just the recording for RUclips but for me the S-Type sounded better than the ATAK. More bass and "throaty". The ATAK for me sounded good during "drive by".
I'm so afraid! Woooo, shaking in my boots man. Tough guy!
im not a v8 guy or v6 but damn that sounds good. Didn't know they made manual clutch camaros 2010
ATAK all the way!!!
@gixxer1000K Soon! It's in the works. We promise it will be worth the wait.
That one dislike is probably a Mustang Owner!
Sounds awesome!! Great video
The ATAK makes it sound like an SLR!!
That computer program they were using was solid works i use it in my tech class for our 3d printer
Warm, beefy sound of the S-TYPE is killer. I like the harsher sound of the ATAK too. I'm torn!
You guys need to make a video with a I4 with touring and S type
Hey Borla I freaking love how your exhausts sound! Especially ATAK. However I have a 1979 Camaro Z28. Can you give me some advice as to what Exhaust would work with my car? I would love an ATAK system but I see nothing that says it will work on my car!
Sounds great
sounds amazing!! i want the atak for my mustang
THEY ALL SOUND VERY NICE, but wonder which one he think's personally is the absulute best One ?
The first two didn't seem that different from one another. After all that research and technology their atak mufflers sound like an old, wore-out pair of glasspacks. Brian Zaborowski I’m always amazed at how bad borla sounds. Not a fan.
Excellent video presentation, I was wondering if you can explain something to me. We have a Gen 5 Camaro SS with the ATAK package, I love the way it sounds on start-up and down the road. The S-Type is mean yet still practical. The Atak sounds fucking awesome, but imagine the cops constantly harassing me.
how about some decibel readings?
"this is a sleeper exhaust" ... the camaro is one of the least stealthy cars available. With stock internals the 2010 camaro was disappointingly slow when I tested it. Its the opposite of a sleeper. It sounds great though! and good video.
Disappointingly slow? They run a 13-second flat 1/4 mile stock. Not bad for a factory stock heavy ass car. Maybe you're a little delusional or came from driving an actual race car.
they have a video of their various systems on the C6 Vette
They all sound better on the Mustang video they shot!
ATAK sounds a bit raspy, head work, cam and it'd be overly raspy akin to the 5th gens w/stock LS1. Doesn't sound terrible though, but the S-type was a bit throatier. As always though, BORLA did a good job.
Loooool sooooo baked
I have the borla s type with bbk long tubes high flow cats and a volant CAI and I think it sounds the best
@khdude2000 I was testing the SS. Have you driven one? It was a pretty big disappointment to me.
Still love my Bassani pipes
Why didnt i find this video earlier :)?
How much weight do you lose with these system over stock?
nothing mentioned about it but i guess its also relevant.
S-type sounds BAD ASS! the ATAK has a weird high pitch..THE S-type final answer.
Is the system in the video just the ATAK muffler with stock headers and pipes? Or did you guys also have after market headers and pipes. The website has the ATAK with X pipes for sale. If just the ATAK was used in the video are those available without the x pipe?
BORLA "ATAK" at start up sounds like Borla exhaust leak when the rasp kicks in, just my opinion
Any Challenger vids? Hemi's are naturally loud, so I'm curious what your S-type and ATAK exhaust would sound like on one of them.
The touring exhaust sounded the best, the s-type's pitch was a bit to high.
Hey! Are you going to have a exhaust system for a 3.6L 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Thanks!!
4:17 i rather listen to muffler then my wife on the phone....
Is the borla atak exhaust only made for late model cars or can you use them for earlier models as well
Is this the 2,5" or 3" Borla ATAK? If I intend to supercharge my Camaro SS does a 2,5" exhaust (of any brand) will get the job done?
Hello, thanks for reaching out! Our system is dual 2.5". If you are planning to heavily modify your vehicle, you may need a larger pipe diameter.
borla: great with exhausts, terrible with mic placement.
ATAK system sounds like the Mustang in "Bullet".
UNIQUE QUESTION........... is there any difference in power gains between the different exhaust systems? OR is the power the same throughout, but just a different exhaust tone????
will you make any videos for the 2010 v6 camaro???
Are these sound clips for the cat-back or axle-back exhaust systems?
The systems featured in the video are Cat-Back systems!
touring sound good but i think ATAK the one in high pitch
my 2010 camaro ss is stock, what would i purchase from borla ATAK wise to get this sound?
is this a video of just ATAK mufflers? or do i need to buy the Cat-back system Aggressive "ATAK" part # 140378? also i want to buy long tube headers at the same time so with that in mind what parts do i need from borla to get the best sounding ATAK system?
Which one do you need to get pulled over.?
Zen’ō Sama Futuro 全王 what are you doing here Zeno 😂
If it costs as much as it did when I bought it for my '06 GTO, you may want to go with Corsa, Spintech or something more aggressive..I liked the 5 inch chrome rolled tips but it was most definitely not even close to being worth $1000..I could kick myself for that.
A type sounds the best !
freakin' sweet
Keep your eyes on the road
Which choices of your Headers would you reccomend for your ATAK Exhaust? Shortys or Long?
Dat face at 3:50
hahaha
when is the 5.0 vid coming
I just want the mufflers why arent they available. I have borla s right now on my v6 charger
is there ANY Borla exhaust that would fit on a Nissan Skyline R32? I searched on the website in the models. They didnt have the Skyline model >:l
Is there an exhaust system for the 2014 Camaro ZL1?
so how much would a full borla exhaust system cost including headers?
Will you guys make an ATAK for a 2011 V6 Camaro?
I just got borla s type in my Camaro zl1 sorry guys I just doesn't sound better then the stock exhausts. try Atak for zl1 may be that will work..
hey how exactly can you tell which one is which? I just recently bought an ss it came with a borla exhaust but im not sure if its an s-type or touring exhaust. is there any physical differences?
Have you gotten your atak ? If so how does it sound and would you recommend it?
will the touring fit on a 08 dodge charger R/T?!?!?!?!? if so i want to get me the touring!
I need the atak for my 4th gen
I dunno, but imo the s type is number 1, then touring, and lastly the atak, I did not like how it sounds from the outside, but thats just my opinion
I have Borla on my 2002 Z28 Chevy Camaro..
