I just wanted to say thank you. I have a severe learning disability and am autistic, and I never finish projects I start because I can never pick up on things. But your video was so well made that not only did I learn how to knit on a loom today, but I also made an adorable hat in ONE night. I can't wait to check out the rest of your tutorials. Thank you so much!! xxoo
+siorlasair hi! Thank you so much for your comment! So glad to know that! :) I hope you find the rest of tutorials helpful too :) BTW, feel free to send us pictures of your results to info@tuteate.com if you want. We'd love to see them!

Hi I just wanted to say this video is very well done and easy to follow. This was my second hat to loom and it turned out so great. Thank you for taking the time to do such a thorough job explaining everything for us beginners!

Thank u for this!! I was about ready to throw my looms away! Step by step is the only way I can learn. Ty for taking the time to teach everyone how to do this!
Thank you so much for this video. This was my very first attempt at using a loom and your instructions made it very easy to follow . Thank you so much xx
Thanks for this video! This is the first time I actually finished a project on the loom so I knew it would be just practice. It turned out pretty nice!
I love your channel! New to loom knitting and your videos are very helpful. Everything i've made so far turned out so cute. Thank you for sharing! Please keep making more videos!
Im a beginner and I was scared to do this hat, but I made it and I love it, I wrote the instructions on a paper and checked them off, so that way I knew where I was. Its very easy and very cute to wear!
Hi Brunella ! :) The hat is 21cm long approx. If you want it longer, you just need to add more pegs. If you want it wider, you just need to add more decreases (for example, you could work the "horizontal decreases" until peg #11 instead of #10).
thank you so much for sharing this.. it took me a few tries to get the width right.. but i finally figured it out and it made a great looking sophisticated hat for my fiance that matched a scarf i had made him! he loves it! i'm also making this for my nephew in a verigated blue / green / yellow.
My hat came out soooooo cute!!! And thanks for the tips in the comments!!! I'm trying to figure out which one of your projects I'm going to do next lol.
Hi Roxana! Thank you :) What do you mean by "work the string different"? Do you mean why we work horizontally instead of working in rounds? We have worked other hats in rounds (you will see them in other videos on our channel) but here we wanted a hat with "decreases" on the top, so we found this would be an easier way to do that. Hope you like it!
The Cloche is my absolute favorite hat to wear. It just slides over your head and gives you a sassy fun look while keeping you warm, cozy and stylish. I have a large head with lots of hair so i have to make all of my hats. Plus it gives me an excuse to be creative.
Hola Rosa Amelia!
I purled wrong the first 2 times instead of keeping the string in front and purling it there I would take the yarn around the left of the peg and purl there until I was watching the rest of the video and realized I was doing it wrong is it okay that I did that cause I really dont want to start over
Hola! Me encanta el gorro! Me puedes decir cuando montas los puntos de esta manera y cuando los montas de la otra forma, es decir, haciendo las dos vueltas completas? Gracias!
I really like this hat, the simplicity of it but I'm wondering if theres a way to take the brim of the beret hat and put it to this one? Any suggestions? Or maybe a new tutorial? I have made just about all of your hats! So I would really love if you could help me with this. Thanks!
Hi! I was wondering if you knew how I could make the hat smaller for someone with a smaller head. Would I just not go as far on the knitting loom as you did?
I like how the top looks but would like to add a visor, any suggestions? Should the visor be made before the panels or after the panels are made? I'm all ears! Or better still why not another youtube tutorial...
+Nicci C hi! If you want a longer hat, you just need to use more pegs. If you want it wider, you just need to work more decreases (for example, you could work the "horizontal decreases" until peg #11 instead of #10).
Shannon Faith hi! You could add a brim :) (however it's difficult to explain how to do it in a reply). We will try to show that on a future project with this type of hat (you will see we have shared other video tutorials on hats with brims, but not for this type of hat).
Thank you so much for one more time!!! I made it but it's too short. If I'll try it with more pegs at which peg should I stop the decrease? for example If I use 36 pegs I'll decrease 18?
144flower hi! If you just want to make the hat longer, you just need to use more pegs (but you stop the decreases at the same peg we do on the video). If you also want to make it wider, then you stop decreases at peg #11 or #12 (one peg more of decreases means you make your hat 4 rows wider in the end). Hope this helps! :)
Damaris Kee hi! If you just do rows of purls, your hat will be less elastic and I think that it will curl up at the open side... But please tell us if you try that, ok? :)
LeeLu1113 hi! Try using thicker yarn or doubling up your yarn (you could try using 2 strands of your yarn at the same time, as if you had 1 single double-thick strand).
Vanessa Barnes hi! You maybe could try using the half number of everything (for example 10 pegs instead of 20, and working decreases to peg #5 instead of #10).
AMAZING! WOW.... I wish I could make that but, I don't have that kind of knitting loom! Oh well. I do have the other one and, I'm making a baby blanket for my baby cousin! Thank you for the video. I will see if I can get one of those looms like that one! Can you make a video making something with the other loom? Please.
I made this hat this weekend and it was very easy to create; however, I do have one question,,,my sem is very visible and does not look like the other knitting - did I do something wrong??
Tina Chappell hi! You didn't do anything wrong, so the same happened to us. Maybe you could avoid that by doing this: At the beginning, just after casting on the pegs, you could use a contrasting color thread and pass it through all these loops (the first row of loops) and then, at the end of the project, use this contrasting thread to set these loops back on the pegs (instead of how we do it on the video, where we put back on the pegs the space between loops instead of the first loops). I think the result will be more neat in this way.
Linda Dressler hi! You could try this: At the beginning, just after casting on the pegs, you could use a contrasting color thread and pass it through all these loops (the first row of loops) and then, at the end of the project, use this contrasting thread to set these loops back on the pegs (instead of how we do it on the video, where we put back on the pegs the space between loops instead of the first loops). I think the result will be more neat in this way.
Thanks, I think I was putting back on the first loop, instead of the space between. Maybe that was my problem. I will try again as I love the look of the hat.
Okay so I have another silly question lol. I made a hat for my boss' mom and she like it and everything, but she came to me a few nights ago and asked me if I could make her on that was smaller and tighter?? Any suggestions??
Tuteate let say im loose focus cailuse member or door knock and miss a peg kept going How would goes back. Knotting how i would know the different from wrapping from purl? To continue
Tuteate let say im loose focus cailuse member or door knock and miss a peg kept going How would goes back. Knotting how i would know the different from wrapping from purl? To continue
Matt Parsons hi! Thank you! :) For the moment, here we have a tutorial for a sack bag: How to Loom Knit a Sack Bag (DIY Tutorial) :) We'll try to make other bags in future tutorials
Your videos are wonderful. Question on the cloche hat ... I live in America, and am trying to ascertain what size yarn to use for this hat. It looks bulky from the video, but not THAT bulky. Do you know the American size for the yarn, i.e., worsted, bulky, chunky, #4, #5, etc.? Thanks so much.
Sara Grossman hi! Thank you so much :) Here we used a yarn called Katia Canada: www.katia.com/lana.php?idLana=canada&lng=EN I think that is size #5, but I'm not sure...
Hi Tuteate! I love your videos, but I do have a question about this cloche hat tutorial.. I finished my hat according to the video, but my cast on loops joined with the last loops of the hat have way bigger holes than the rest of the hat. it's so noticeable that I wont be able to wear it or gift it. Is there a way to fix this issue? Thank you
+Megan Ward hi! Maybe you could try this: at the beginning, just after casting on the pegs, you could use a contrasting color thread and pass it through all these loops (the first row of loops) and then, at the end of the project, use this contrasting thread to set these loops back on the pegs (instead of how we do it on the video, where we put back on the pegs the space between loops instead of the first loops). I think the result will be more neat in this way.
+debbiemack02 hi there again :) If you want it shorter, you just need to use less pegs. If you want it narrower, you just need to work less decreases (for example, you could work the "horizontal decreases" until peg #9 instead of #10).
+Tammy Dorris hi! Here we have some written directions given in Spanish: www.tuteate.com/2014/11/19/hazte-un-gorro-cloche-en-telar/ (maybe you could use Google Chrome to directly get them translated into English)
Hi and happy new year! I have a couple of questions please... How long is the hat in the video? And, compared to a hat done in the round, is this as large as a hat done on a 36-peg loom or a hat done on a 41? I'm asking so that I know if I have to cast on 20pegs or more and if I have to add any decrease. Thanks
I have a problem with this hat :( when I close as per tutorial it leaves a line of wholes, I tried knitting back one more time, but you can still notice it. Could you advice me what can I do please?
ppyli hi! We recommend you to take your work off the loom and pull the yarn after that (the closing part will look different than the other rows, but it shouldn't be too holey. If that doesn't work, you could try binding off the last row (check this video if you need some advice on that: ruclips.net/video/8xXkFoEbYKY/видео.html ) and sewing the last row and the first row together at the end, out of the loom.
Okay so I was wrong she wants it longer I guess it doesn't cover her ears all the way and she wants it to. And I got a thicker yarn that I am going to double up on as far as making the holes "smaller", but she wants the hat to be longer. How would I do that??
Litfromwithin hi! Thank you :) (and sorry for this late reply). This hat is worked horizontally, so the number of pegs determine the height of your hat. Maybe you could just use 4 pegs less... On the other hand, to make it narrower you just need to work fewer "decreases", so maybe you could work the "horizontal decreases" until peg #9 instead of #10. Hope this helps!
I love this pattern! Thanks so much for this. I feel I work faster this way. I do have a question, Tuteate, do you know of any other loom knit hats that do not use the gather/drawstring bind off method? I've been looking, but no such luck. If so, would you possibly make a tutorial? I'm a visual learner, and patterns confuse me lol.
How many pegs would you use for a child? I finally made one, and it loose on my head. I will try it on 18 pegs. Will the decrease be the same or should I use 8 instead of 10?
I was loving this hat- until I finished it!! The seam is very noticeable and is very loose where it comes together at the brim. What did I do wrong? (I'd love to send you a pick so you can see what I mean). Thanks for all the great tutorials:)
casweitzer1 hi! You could try using less pegs (you could work on 18 pegs instead of 20), and then working decreases until peg number 9 instead of number 10).
hi, i wanted to ask, whats the difference between plain knitting (Wrapping and knitting ) and purl knitting?? Why can't we just use one of those two for all of it ? does it help the cloche from binding like a regular Bennie ? Thank you, and i love your tutorials BTW
In the video and pictures this type of hat is for a female it seems like. Would this be a good pattern to use for guys as well?? My step dad wants me to make him a hat after seeing another one a made over Thanksgiving, but the catch is he doesn't want a brim on it. Your video is the only one I've found to make a hat with no brim and easy to follow. Please can you help me
LeeLu1113 hi! Yes, this pattern is for guys too :) We recommend you to cast on 22 pegs (instead of 20) and work the "horizontal decreases" until peg #11 insted of #10). We did this using a darker grey yarn and it looks great on males.
SABarnao hi! You could work in each direction in the same way (using the same stitch, for example, always wrapping-knitting). However, the "ribbed pattern" makes this hat more elastic and adjustable.
Hello, this is my go to channel for looming!! Your tutorials are outstanding! I went to your website and it looks awesome as well but it's not in English, is there a version by chance? Thank you for all your hard work!!! Lori 😃
I have made two of these and the seam on both of them is very noticeable. How do I make it smaller/tighter? I love your videos by the way and have made several things off of them. Do you have an infinity loom that you do tutorials on? I've searched on here and haven't really found one that is helpful.
Jennifer Murray hi! Maybe you could try this: once you have casted on the 20 pegs, thread a yarn needle with a contrasting color yarn and pass it through each of the loops. At the end of the project, use this contrasting color thread to help you put each loop back on the loom, and the close the hat. Maybe the seam will be less noticeable in this way. BTW, Santa brought as an infinity loom, so we expect to share tutorials on this soon! :)
There is an IMPROVED version of this hat available here: ruclips.net/video/E6ibEpq4KlU/видео.html

this was a really great tutorial .I love your work. I can't wait to see what's next
I made this hat in about an hour. I used a coral chunky yarn and it turned out beautiful!
Great! So glad to know that! Are you on Instagram? I'm @tuteate there, I'd love to see your result :)
Thank you so much. For making your videos. I find them very helpful.

Lori Lynette :) you are always super positive!
BEAUTIFUL WORK AS ALWAYS.
1992jason2 thank you so so muuuch! ^_^
Thank you do much for meeting these. May I ask why you work the string different then the rest?
Hola Rosa Amelia! +Daranii Asoba it might look a little strange, but you can just put that side at the back! It just means your hat will be unique :)
Ok thanks

Super awesome way to loom a beanie!Thx for sharing imma try this! Love ur videos also!
MrsGoth211 :) thank you! So glad to know you liked it!
This is an awesome video and cloche cant wait to make it.
Is there a difference between the 41 peg loom and the 36 and 31 looms are you still able to use the smaller ones
I really like this hat, the simplicity of it but I'm wondering if theres a way to take the brim of the beret hat and put it to this one? Any suggestions? Or maybe a new tutorial? I have made just about all of your hats! So I would really love if you could help me with this. Thanks!
CheyBaabe hi! Ok, we'll try to make a cloché hat with a brim, let's see how it goes :)
Would it fit over ear?
I 💘 it style for gift...
Hi Evelyn! Yes, it should fit over ear :)
Hi, if I wanted a bigger size hat for example for a male would I use more pegs instead of 20? How do I work out if the size will fit?
Hi! I was wondering if you knew how I could make the hat smaller for someone with a smaller head. Would I just not go as far on the knitting loom as you did?
Luv it! Can't wait to get started. Thank you!!
TwiggyLee1 ^_^ we'll love to see your result!
Tuteate we can't send you photos here! Where do we send you pics???
Can I turn this into a beret by adding more triangles and decrease more and going to peg 12 instead of ten
jemetrisecar hi! Yes, it could work.. :)
Hi, how many to cast on for babies and toddlers. Thx
I like how the top looks but would like to add a visor, any suggestions? Should the visor be made before the panels or after the panels are made? I'm all ears! Or better still why not another youtube tutorial...
How can I make this for a 5 year old? any help would be appreciated Thank you so much for this video
If I'm following along with the comments correctly, if I need to make it bigger, would I just do more decreases?
+Nicci C hi! If you want a longer hat, you just need to use more pegs. If you want it wider, you just need to work more decreases (for example, you could work the "horizontal decreases" until peg #11 instead of #10).
Can you add a brim to this hat? I've seen it in crochet patterns but not on the loom?
Shannon Faith hi! You could add a brim :) (however it's difficult to explain how to do it in a reply). We will try to show that on a future project with this type of hat (you will see we have shared other video tutorials on hats with brims, but not for this type of hat).
Do you have the written pattern for this hat?
Thank you so much for one more time!!!
I made it but it's too short. If I'll try it with more pegs at which peg should I stop the decrease? for example If I use 36 pegs I'll decrease 18?

Thank you for your instructions!!!!
Can u do this ?? But just doing purl stitching
Damaris Kee hi! If you just do rows of purls, your hat will be less elastic and I think that it will curl up at the open side... But please tell us if you try that, ok? :)
Is there any way to make this hate smaller and tighter?? I guess by tighter I mean with smaller holes.
LeeLu1113 hi! Try using thicker yarn or doubling up your yarn (you could try using 2 strands of your yarn at the same time, as if you had 1 single double-thick strand).
How would I add different colors and have them line up..also, could this be cut in half for a child's size? I love your tutorials!! Thanks!
Hi, I have a 41 peg loom circle, and I was just wondering if it could be done on it
Jessica Garrett hi! Sure, we are using a 41 peg loom on this video :)
Thanks
How many triangles do I need to do?? Just 2?
Hello! This is a great video! I was wondering how would I make this hat in a smaller child or baby size?
Vanessa Barnes hi! You maybe could try using the half number of everything (for example 10 pegs instead of 20, and working decreases to peg #5 instead of #10).

Emily Lotarski thank you! By "the other loom" you mean the one with the "S" shape?
The Strait one.
could i do this with a different weave ?
+Jamal Bascombe hi! We haven't tried that out, but yes, you could try :) why not?
Hello. Help me please. Write to the thickness of your yarn In grams per meter

OK this. I just weaved in more yarn to cover the gaps and it is less noticeable. I really like your tutorial videos. Thanks
Could you tell me when to stop to make this hat for children, I'm not very good at sizing. Thank you :)
I love this hat except for the seam. It is just way to noticeable. Any thoughts on how to make it better?
Linda Dressler hi! You could try this: At the beginning, just after casting on the pegs, you could use a contrasting color thread and pass it through all these loops (the first row of loops) and then, at the end of the project, use this contrasting thread to set these loops back on the pegs (instead of how we do it on the video, where we put back on the pegs the space between loops instead of the first loops). Thanks, I think I was putting back on the first loop, instead of the space between. Maybe that was my problem. I will try again as I love the look of the hat.

and miss a peg kept going
How would goes back. Knotting how i would know the different from wrapping from purl? To continue
I only have a 36 peg one,how can I do it with this one? Instead of the 41.
Diana Figueroa hi! Yes, you can use a 36 peg loom :) You will see we just used 20 pegs to make this project.
I want to make this hat, but I want to use my 18 inch straight loom, because it has a smaller gauge. Would I still cast on 20 for an adult hat?
Jonnita Stubbs hi! If it has a smaller gauge maybe you will need some more pegs... But not sure about how many, sorry..
What gauge was the loom you used
hola tuteare como puedo mandar foto de mis hat.
On the number ten thing,do u mean we do it ten times or to the tenth peg,im just asking because so far it's going good but I don't want to mess up
+debbiemack02 hi! The #10 refers to peg number 10 :)
+Tuteate thank you you are very helpful,(btw, love your videos :-))
Love the videos! Could you show us how to knit a bag or something like that like a tote bag if possible :)
Matt Parsons hi! Thank you! :) For the moment, here we have a tutorial for a sack bag: How to Loom Knit a Sack Bag (DIY Tutorial) :) We'll try to make other bags in future tutorials
My boss' 4 year old daughter wants me to make her a hat now. How many pegs should I use or is there even a way to do it that small??
Hi there. I was curious about the brand of circular looms you are using. Who makes them and sells them?
Hello I’m a newbie at looming. I’ve made a beanie with a brim. I really like this style here. My question is my loom has 31 pegs!! How do I continue?
Hi Josie! You can perfectly work this hat on a 31-peg loom :) (you'll see I only used 20 pegs of my 41-peg loom)
What is wrapping and knitting? E wrap and U wrap? One of each in the same row??? I'm confused.
Another great video ....thank you !
Irene Arabatzoglou thank you so much :) You always cheering us up!
Hey tuteate,is this sizeble, cause im a kid and I don't want it to be big,
+debbiemack02 hi there again :) If you want it shorter, you just need to use less pegs. If you want it narrower, you just need to work less decreases (for example, you could work the "horizontal decreases" until peg #9 instead of #10).
+Tuteate thank you so much!!!!!!
What kind of yarn do u use???
Can I do this on a 36 peg loom? Thanks for the videos!
Reneesfun hi! Yes, you can follow this video directions on a 36 peg loom :)
are there written instructions for this somewhere? my computer hates to play videos it keeps stopping & starting & buffering etc
+Tammy Dorris hi! Here we have some written directions given in Spanish: www.tuteate.com/2014/11/19/hazte-un-gorro-cloche-en-telar/ (maybe you could use Google Chrome to directly get them translated into English)
thanks
Hi and happy new year! I have a couple of questions please... How long is the hat in the video? And, compared to a hat done in the round, is this as large as a hat done on a 36-peg loom or a hat done on a 41? I'm asking so that I know if I have to cast on 20pegs or more and if I have to add any decrease. Thanks
Fantastic idea thank you.
Tuteate Thanks! I will try this with the one I'm making right now. (✿◠‿◠)
Okay so I was wrong she wants it longer I guess it doesn't cover her ears all the way and she wants it to. And I got a thicker yarn that I am going to double up on as far as making the holes "smaller", but she wants the hat to be longer. How would I do that??
LeeLu1113 hi! If you want your hat longer, then you just need to cast on more pegs at the beginning (instead of 20, maybe 22 or so).
Tuteate how would I do the decreasing then??
hi im daisy and I was wondering if there was a certain brand of yarn that you recommend to make these arts and crafts?
The TQ12 hi Daisy! We recommend to use thick yarn, for at least knitting needles of 5mm or more. Here for example we used a yarn called Katia Canada.
I love this design. If I wanted to make one for a teenager or a younger child, would I just use half the pegs?

Hi. What brand and kind of yarn is that? It looks thick and stretchy.
Awesomesun1 hi! Here we used a yarn called Katia Canada.
How many pegs would you use for a child? I finally made one, and it loose on my head. I will try it on 18 pegs. Will the decrease be the same or should I use 8 instead of 10?
thank you so much, you are great! !!!
I was loving this hat- until I finished it!! The seam is very noticeable and is very loose where it comes together at the brim. What did I do wrong? (I'd love to send you a pick so you can see what I mean). Thanks for all the great tutorials:)
D Jascot hi! You can send us a picture to info@tuteate.com :) Let's see if we can help
This is a cool hat, and I would like to make one for my 6 year old niece. Can you provide any help for that? Thanks!
casweitzer1 hi!
Thank you, and i love your tutorials BTW
you make look so nice thank for share
Tuteate Thank you very much :)
How long did this take you to make? I am going to make it for a gift, and want to plan accordingly. Thanks!
If I wanted to follow this technique, but instead make it a ribbed pattern, how would I do that?
SABarnao hi! You could work in each direction in the same way (using the same stitch, for example, always wrapping-knitting). However, the "ribbed pattern" makes this hat more elastic and adjustable.
Hello, this is my go to channel for looming!! Your tutorials are outstanding! I went to your website and it looks awesome as well but it's not in English, is there a version by chance? Thank you for all your hard work!!! Lori 😃
If you open it on your computer you can translate it into English. That's what I do.
Lori Crafter hello! We don't have an English version for the moment, sorry...
