Great idea for using text for pockets. I have to admit I have never "finished" a journal. Why you ask? I don't decorate every page because I use my journals, as well, well, journals so I am always working in them. I have one for writing down ideas or something new to try; one I use like a daily diary... and so on. My writing isn't that good anymore but that's alright because it's mine and I Own it. It also shows my life's journey of my 74 trips around the sun. Have a great day and keep the inspiration coming!
I am in love with Sunny! I think you should do a video with Sunny and Holly. I love hearing him in the background all the time. Oh yeah, and I love your projects too! Thank you!!
Hello from Denmark. Your videos are such a delight. I have so much paper and prints etc. and thanks to you I am now making junk journals and sewing in papers in existing books, printning, dabbing and coffee dying away. All while enjoying myself, relaxing and being creative. Thank you😊
Good morning! You made me so curious that I just had to know what the chief said, so I looked it up on Google books. He was grieved because he had travelled a long distance on a mission from his tribe, to find a Bible so they could learn the way to Heaven. He couldn't obtain one among the settlers, and returned with many other things, but not the one Book his tribe sent him to find. It made me feel rich to think of how many pages (Scripture and otherwise) we have at our fingertips every day.
Thanks and good morning Pam, this series is so informative, even for us seasoned crafters. Having said that, I'm just about to finish, if that's even a thing 😂 My very first junk journal, yep, never got around to it before, there are a few of us still 😂😂 have done most crafts on the planet including cards, painting, mixed media et el. Anyway, I have got the ubiquitous stash of everything, so sure have sufficient supplies, now it is time to use some up. My sister has seen my journal too and of course, doesn't want to be left out, meaning will I make her one 😳 Oh well perhaps she will buy some for her mates lol. Anyway, many thanks again for being so easy to follow and so laid back which takes the fear factor out of creating. Luv n hugs from Victoria in England 👍👏🏼👍👏🏼😘🇬🇧😘
Hi Pam. Happy Valentine's Day to you and your hubby. Love the pockets . They will go great in any journal. Hi Sonny and Holly. Did I hear the love birds sing out once. Have a good day.
These pockets are exactly what I was looking for! PERFECT! I love to sew around them and possibly rubber stamp them! Sunny you make me smile! Thank you for sharing!❤️
Hey Pam, how are you? I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. I am new to junk journaling. It is fun but if I try to keep up with the ‘pros’ of junk journaling it can become overwhelming. I have learned that junk journaling is personal and there is no wrong or right when it comes to making these journals. Thank you for sharing your experiences and expertise with us😊💜
Hello, and Happy Valentine's Day, Pam Much love 💗 to you and the menagerie of fur 🐾 and feathers 🪶 You brighten many of my days, with foo foo-ness, finger smooshing, going around the corners, loopy loos, inke-rooning...and so much more! The journal is coming along nicely...with all the well- known bits 'n bobs 😊 hello from Denmark 🌸❄
I’m going to have to go back to the beginning but, going to watch this because I’m out of control excited. I’ve unfortunately been out of the “loop” due to poor health BUT by the grace of God I’m BACK !!! And so excited .. I’m cheryl from Florida I watched you daily a year ago and excited because you were as well. So hi again Pam !! Thank you thank you !!! I’m very very excited !! Hugs n heart ❤️ today Valentine’s Day 💕
Thanks so much for letting us follow along. I am working on a book that is 95 years old. I wanted to include the title page and some other significant pages. Your ideas are right on time. Hey and hugs to little Sunny Bunny and handsome Holly. Thank you, Pam! Happy Crafting !
I have so many books with signatures (one from the author with a gift note to the recipient), children's drawings, annotations, and other writings and it adds SO much mystery and beauty to these crumbling books that I'm turning into journal pages and decor.
Good morning and happy Valentine's day! You have given me such inspiration to create and try something new! I'm in the process of making all the ladies in my family junk journals. So far they all love them! As far as the "Speech of the Flat-Head Chief," my brother-in-law and his family live in Montana on Flathead lake. It was named for the Flat-Head native American tribe that lived in the area! Now I have something to research (I like researching things)! Thank you for all your wonderful videos!❤❤❤
Ouch…your tongue talk was hilarious! I used to have a yellow napped Amazon…his name was thief because he liked jewelry 😂 Oh I have never put a corner tuck in the middle of a page! Hmmmm I intriguing! Happy Valentines Day💗♥️💗
Monday Greetings! So many times we use the book pages for the bases for tags, pockets, etc. Then we go to work covering them up so you can’t see them. You have inspired me to make the bases but then just decorate them but not cover them up. I think that would be cool looking. Hi Sunny, you sweet thing you! 👍🥰❤️
thanks Pam for everything you post here, you are my favorite channel ever on youtube... I enjoy watching your videos and I am glad to tell you that you inspired me to start my journal journey. You are so lovely and funny. I enjoy your videos and wait them!
Hey there from St. Augustine Florida! (North East) I’m sitting here watching you while I work on my own junk journal. I enjoy your channel and appreciate all the great ideas. ❤️Have a happy Valentines Day!❤️
Another great video! I have to put in a word for the monthly newsletter! It’s filled with great info and ideas and I love getting it every month. And how can you go wrong with FREE!!!
I have just found your videos and you are so much fun. I have made art journals but only made one junk journal but that was in a class where everything was provided. Am learning so much from you about making my own 😊
Awesome as usual Pam! You’re right. Sewing adds so much to a journal. My machine was pricey years ago when I bought it but it will not sew paper! So annoying lol.
Hello, Pam! This is such an interesting series! I’m in Florida, also. I’m close to Ocala, and I’m not sure if that is anywhere close to you. I love watching you and Sunshine. Have a blessed week!
Thank you for the “no punch needed” thumb hole idea!! I haven’t made any pockets since I wanted to put a thumb hole, now I’m off to the craft room to make some!
Happy Monday Pam! I am following along but I'm a little behind, I have some custom order to handle then I will be back at it. My dad lives in Florida and he said it was going down to 30 last night he had the heat on. 🙄 When I got up at 4:30 am this morning it was negative 10 ❄ Hope you have a good day and hello to Sunny & Holly ! 💜
I've gained new respect for my tongue today 😜 lmao! Do you read these books first? This is my biggest drawback, I want to read it first so then I never get to using book pages. I bought a few oldies but I haven't used them because each time I go to them I get stuck reading...lol. any suggestions? Oh! Maybe I need to do the blindfold crazy challenge! 🤣 Hi Sunny, Chico goes crazy for those frisky little squirrels too.
I get nervous if I don't decorate first. It's like...😳 what if I mess it up and it's already glued in! Disaster pants! 😁 Regards to the menagerie and Papa too. 🌞
I hear you Donna :) This is a common concern. Remember you can always cover it, tear it out or off, paint it, add or subtract from it..."re-invention" is the mother of necessity as a crafter ;) lol
@@ThePaperOutpost oh, I've been down those dead-ends a few times 😁 (but I can REALLY mess things up sometimes 😜) I am getting better at hiding the boo boos though 😊
This book and your pages are absolutely stunning love the handwriting!! What a fabulous book!! I have collected lots of books fussy cut lots of flowers butterflies words made magazine covered pockets and have a very almost completely unpacked organized craft room. I even started a RUclips but got to learn how to do them right - like edit 😂😂😂😂!! But on my way !!
Hi Pam, just love the tucks and pockets sewn zigzag effect..wanted to ask what type of sewing machine you have? I'm not a sewer and your machine looks kinda easy to use....???
Pam, you are talking so fast, you say things you don’t catch.😂 You said Hollywood was an Amazon.🤣All of your birds are species from Africa; Holly from the Kenya area and the Lovies from South Africa. I’m so very glad to see you working through a whole journal again. I really missed that. The book you chose has such a great premise. 💝
LOL - Love your stories - you are so funny! I wonder if you have any tips about glue. My Fabri-Tac gets really thick all the time and won't come out as nice and easy as yours does. Any tips on what to do when that sort of thing happens?
Add some pure acetone. It thins it. The longer you've had the glue and the less there is, the thicker it tends to get. You can find acetone by the nail polish remover in pharmacies and bigger box stores. Make sure you get 100% acetone though, and NOT nail polish remover. Just add a little at a time until it seems the right consistency. You can also add it when it gets stringy (from the project to the bottle, like hot glue does).
I like to use dollar tree books for crafting and they’re usually pretty current and sometimes trying to be trendy and I have to watch out for offensive things there too. Like if I’m making like a flowery journal that’s heavy on the pink I don’t want be a book page with a visible F word, or last night I at the last second put a butterfly over the word murderer on a tag. I hadn’t noticed it until the end, and idk if someone else would but sometimes I just don’t want to chance spoiling the vibe. But hey, some of those might be right at home in like a spooky clue themed book.
I’m so happy you popped up because all I could remember was Pam. Oh dear ok I’ll stop 🤐🤫🤐🤫chatting !! You do have others here!!! Just a wee excited can you tell ??
Mama Pam, I was texting with Holly and he shared something with me. He regrets retiring from his construction job so young. Says he's beginning to have way to much free time on his hands lately and he is bored. I thought you might have some papers to shred, dye, paint, etc., just to help pass the time.
