This song gives many emotions for me coming from a family of addicts and seeing the damage to does to people. I love the instrumentals and lyrics. Listening to it and thinking of how horrific that actual drug is disturbs me, yet the lyrics are just saddening and applies to the topic of addiction. "Lying never felt so fulfilling/displeasing, I think that tomorrow will be a new day to start fresh, repeat what's been done a hundred times again." This couldn't be more accurate. Unless you've experienced it first hand, having a loved one suffering from addiction is horrific to see. Reasoning and meaning of life no longer registers in their voice, but it's there.
This is a perfect example of thought over mastering; cepheid was not yet a master of vocaloid, or of music production; and yet, for any of it's faults, this song is still a masterpiece of it's own. The ideas, the subject, the haunting, the composition, etc. Even more so for *anyone* who's been addicted to *anything* this video should speak to your soul.

Great song. Really love thats its heavier than most other vocaloid songs and uses instruments rather than just beats and stuff (dont get me wrong, i do like those songs, but this is refreshing). Most vocaloid songs I come across I just think "Oh, another /Vocaloid/ song." But this song and your other songs are more "real" to me, its not /just/ the fact that its vocaloid that makes it special. Like I could easily imagine a band performing this live, something like that. Good work.
Concept for a music video if this were ever covered by another band. It’s a single continuous shot of the singer. As the song goes on, the setting changes from the streets, to an abandoned building with a concrete floor, etc. In some parts, the environment gets more and more distorted to represent the high from the drugs. As it goes on, the singer who’s playing the role of the addict, seems to get worse and worse looking. They start out with a few scars and bruises, but gradually develop more of them along with open wounds, a bleeding eye, and maybe even some rough skin (but none of the awful deterioration that Krokodil is known for, that would be a little too graphic. But show enough damage to get the message across.) The final scene is of the addict getting up and going somewhere. In the last few seconds of the video, some of the wounds start to heal, but the very last part is of her lying down in what could be either a bed, or a casket. The ending as to whether she lives or dies is left up to speculation.

Heroin is extremely popular in a certain part of the Russian border, and when offered Krokodil, many addicts will take it. The effect is stronger and the drug is cheaper, which I guess is why. Some people just place little to no value on their life so if its cheaper, they don't fear the dangerous side effects. I hope that explains why, or at least kind of does.
I didn't know about this drug, and only after a research I found out that not only it did arrive in my country, but also near my town. Its effects are fucking terrifying.

This is really great. Fantastic use of vocaloid as well as very good lyric video. I have struggled with addiction myself and the lyrics really got to me. I am lucky that I never got in contact with drugs like this. Given how vulnerable I am to anything addictive, I might not be alive right now if I had.
*MESSAGE OF DRUG AWARENESS:* Desomorphine (krokodil- the name of the drug the song is about) has been nick-named "flesh-eating drug" and "zombie drug" and it's not for nothing. It causes the skin to become decrepit, thicker, and eventually decay, looking moldy. The skin disease it causes is called Necrotizing Fasciitis, and as the name suggests, this is due to a bacterial infection when one consums d=this drug, causing skin damage within a few weeks. There is no cure to this aside from limb amputation, as the blood will be filled with gasoline and paint thinner, substances that are still present in illicitly produced desomorphine, because of excessive synthesis. This is why only hospitals and clinics possess this, as it is a derivative of morphine, which eases pain, and causes a feeling of euphoria, only for the person to fall down the rabbit hole and easily become addicted. In some way, in a legal context, when there is a company helping producing the desomorphine and searching to make morphine, they have less trouble "purifying" it (we'll say it like that). Now a final little note: I strongly disadvice searching the name of the skin diseases, especially if you are sensitive and easily shocked. Even I haven't searched images of this skin disease in a long time as it is very gory. Remember that those do not come from horror movies, and are actually pictures of people who have the symptoms and took the drug... VIEW IT AT YOUR OWN RISK! On those pictures, for those who wanna know but not actually see it, read more for the gory details. You were warned. On top of this comment, it isn't just skin. It also can rot your muscles and flesh from the inside out, and seemingly bone. Looking the disease up, I saw not only skin being taken off down to the tendons across the entire tops of feet and amputated toes, along the entire arm and into the chest, but multiple pictures of holes in peoples' faces. Like, half the upper jaw gone, no seperation from that hole and the eye socket, in fact there was no eye socket, and it went up to the forehead. All of it decayed and rotted. And the worst part is some of them looked not like it was an autopsy or they were dead, but like it was just surgery to remove. Like they were still alive through that. Editing this to add. Sorry for your inevitable disgust. What I said about the upper jaw to the forehead? I just came across pics of people with the whole side of their heads gone. So I believe that she lived, hell, even a part of a song said that she'd stop. "lying never felt so displeasing" and so on from there.
i think what i like most about this song (aside from the everything else about it) is the fact that it's incredibly dark and sad, but it has a hopeful ending. the lines "the sensation subsides / and never crawls back up my skin" give me the feeling that she was eventually able to overcome her addiction and finally stop using krokodil. the song's really good at illustrating how fucked up and destructive this drug is, but how there's light at the end of the tunnel, and it _can_ be beaten.

Might be a late comment, but thank you for making this. Despite it being a different production overall, I do put this song up there with Metallica's "Master of Puppets" and "Sad but True," as well as Silva Hound's "Addict," (yes, the Hazbin Hotel song,) as perfect addiction songs. I've been fortunate enough to not be an "addict," but I do have an addictive personality, and these kinds of songs kind of fuck me up, but in a good way. Makes me want to stop short of going too far, even if I kind of do, every once in a while. Of the above songs mentioned, though, this one is the only one I'd describe as desperate. This is the soundtrack to someone who KNOWS what they're doing, but can't stop. They want to, but their body can't, and that's heartbreaking, if for no other reason than that's the kind of thing that stole my mother from me. Again, thank you, Cepheid. Great song. Really love thats its heavier than most other vocaloid songs and uses instruments rather than just beats and stuff (dont get me wrong, i do like those songs, but this is refreshing). Most vocaloid songs I come across I just think "Oh, another /Vocaloid/ song." But this song and your other songs are more "real" to me, its not /just/ the fact that its vocaloid that makes it special. Concept for a music video if this were ever covered by another band.
It’s a single continuous shot of the singer. As the song goes on, the setting changes from the streets, to an abandoned building with a concrete floor, etc.
In some parts, the environment gets more and more distorted to represent the high from the drugs.
As it goes on, the singer who’s playing the role of the addict, seems to get worse and worse looking. They start out with a few scars and bruises, but gradually develop more of them along with open wounds, a bleeding eye, and maybe even some rough skin (but none of the awful deterioration that Krokodil is known for, that would be a little too graphic. But show enough damage to get the message across.)
The final scene is of the addict getting up and going somewhere. In the last few seconds of the video, some of the wounds start to heal, but the very last part is of her lying down in what could be either a bed, or a casket. The ending as to whether she lives or dies is left up to speculation.

Heroin is extremely popular in a certain part of the Russian border, and when offered Krokodil, many addicts will take it. The effect is stronger and the drug is cheaper, which I guess is why. Some people just place little to no value on their life so if its cheaper, they don't fear the dangerous side effects. I hope that explains why, or at least kind of does.

This is really great. Fantastic use of vocaloid as well as very good lyric video. I have struggled with addiction myself and the lyrics really got to me. I am lucky that I never got in contact with drugs like this. Given how vulnerable I am to anything addictive, I might not be alive right now if I had.

Desomorphine (krokodil- the name of the drug the song is about) has been nick-named "flesh-eating drug" and "zombie drug" and it's not for nothing. It causes the skin to become decrepit, thicker, and eventually decay, looking moldy. The skin disease it causes is called Necrotizing Fasciitis, and as the name suggests, this is due to a bacterial infection when one consums d=this drug, causing skin damage within a few weeks. There is no cure to this aside from limb amputation, as the blood will be filled with gasoline and paint thinner, substances that are still present in illicitly produced desomorphine, because of excessive synthesis. This is why only hospitals and clinics possess this, as it is a derivative of morphine, which eases pain, and causes a feeling of euphoria, only for the person to fall down the rabbit hole and easily become addicted. In some way, in a legal context, when there is a company helping producing the desomorphine and searching to make morphine, they have less trouble "purifying" it (we'll say it like that).
Now a final little note: I strongly disadvice searching the name of the skin diseases, especially if you are sensitive and easily shocked. Even I haven't searched images of this skin disease in a long time as it is very gory. Remember that those do not come from horror movies, and are actually pictures of people who have the symptoms and took the drug... VIEW IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!
I hope I was not too annoying with this, but awareness is vital. I also do not intend to scare anyone. I mean that it is understandable to want to challenge your guts, but there are some things better off unseen.

On top of this comment, it isn't just skin. It also can rot your muscles and flesh from the inside out, and seemingly bone.
Looking the disease up, I saw not only skin being taken off down to the tendons across the entire tops of feet and amputated toes, along the entire arm and into the chest, but multiple pictures of holes in peoples' faces. Like, half the upper jaw gone, no seperation from that hole and the eye socket, in fact there was no eye socket, and it went up to the forehead. All of it decayed and rotted. And the worst part is some of them looked not like it was an autopsy or they were dead, but like it was just surgery to remove. Like they were still alive through that.

Yeah as someone fighting addiction myself (painkillers), I can relate a ton to this song. From making up excuses to lying to myself over and over just for the sweet little moment of feeling dizzy and not sad.
The music gives me an Okame-P vibe while the lyrics alone (rather than the notes they're hitting, they're still Okame-esque to my ears) give me something of an Utsu-P vibe in terms of addressing something life-ruining.

i think what i like most about this song (aside from the everything else about it) is the fact that it's incredibly dark and sad, but it has a hopeful ending. the lines "the sensation subsides / and never crawls back up my skin" give me the feeling that she was eventually able to overcome her addiction and finally stop using krokodil. the song's really good at illustrating how fucked up and destructive this drug is, but how there's light at the end of the tunnel, and it _can_ be beaten.

Might be a late comment, but thank you for making this. Despite it being a different production overall, I do put this song up there with Metallica's "Master of Puppets" and "Sad but True," as well as Silva Hound's "Addict," (yes, the Hazbin Hotel song,) as perfect addiction songs. I've been fortunate enough to not be an "addict," but I do have an addictive personality, and these kinds of songs kind of fuck me up, but in a good way. Makes me want to stop short of going too far, even if I kind of do, every once in a while.
Of the above songs mentioned, though, this one is the only one I'd describe as desperate. This is the soundtrack to someone who KNOWS what they're doing, but can't stop. They want to, but their body can't, and that's heartbreaking, if for no other reason than that's the kind of thing that stole my mother from me.

Venemous Syrin One of my personal favorites is Mind Brand by Maretu sung by Miku. The English cover of Mind Brand sung by Katerinu2 also plays amazing on the ears. If you are looking for some songs with amazing plot lines like this, go to kikuo's channel. He produces some amazing music and adds grotesque lyrics and images and it just plays out well. One of my favorite teams of people who create English vocaloid songs ( they do use gumi a lot but mostly oliver ) is Morbid Morsel and Steampianist, which is found on steampianist's channel.
