Personally I see the connection as Synchro's being the last major addition he made before he retired/passed away. In duel monsters he made the holographic technology and in battle city he made the revised rules. I can easily see Kaiba after a few years of going back and forth with the fusion cards in the gx era that he will feel the game has gotten stale and decided to make a new innovation, Turbo dueling and Synchros. Considering that Synchros is also the final magic-era of yugioh before it starts going way more into sci fi. I think its fitting that Kaiba as the man who can represent both uses the mechanic thats basically focused in the series that bridges the old with the new.
i would love for atem to change into a more egyptian theme with the dm and have it work with king's sarcophagus too, it would be epic! The futuristic light vs the golden darkness of the past...!
@@tatsuyashiba5911they basically only did that to fix the fact they really screwed up the verbiage on the eye of timaeus so I don’t think we’ll see hermos and critias in monster form
Dark Magician is also likely going to pivot towards Xyz if the new Kaiba support is anytjing to do by. As the entire point of the original waves of support was that DM and BE got the summoning mechanic that kind of matched the theme of the deck in card type colour and ace.
His entire deck focused on the blue eyes, Kaiser Sea Horse got retrained to more closely work with the deck as a whole. As did Lord of D. Nor has it shifted focus away from summon Ultimate Dragon as ace. If anything the new cards make that easier and end on an even bigger Fusion as a result.
What if Kisara's clan comes looking for her and the Master with Eyes of Blue goes all "Overprotective Dad" mode and shows Seto what Blue-Eyes can really do? Then Seto officially marries into the Blue-Eyed Clan and that's how he can use the Blue-Eyes synchros.
@jonathanprince707 That's a cool idea. Hopefully, we will get all the lore when the new anime comes out for Blue eyes. konami did a little spoiler not too long ago.
I don't think the new Blue-Eyes support would be cards Seto Kaiba would use outside of Neo Kaiser Seahorse. I think Seto would definitely run the new XYZ remake cards. One of those cards, Union Activation, even explicitly supports Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Obelisk the Tormentor. They also have lax restrictions in allowing any light monster from the extra deck, which does include Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon.
That's a fair point of view. If you're looking at the anime in chronological order, kaiba would be long dead by the time Xyz's came into existence. The union activation is a call back to the manga where he used the xyz dragon cannon archetype to summon obelisk.
I'm confused by this video because Blue Eyes has been using Synchro and XYZ monsters since 2009. It's not like it's new or just came out. Just what has come out is a revamp of the Blue Eyes strategy.
This video was my theory explaining the yugioh anime/manga (head) cannon reason why kaiba might have used these card's (blue-eyes ultimate spirit dragon). Trying to build upon the lore of the show and manga for my pleasure and other people who wish to watch the content. Because kaiba did, in fact, not use any other summoning method other than fusions in the extra deck on the show or in the manga. So yes, they have been around for a long time synchro's and xyz's blue-eyes support, but there's never an explanation given as to why they made this support for blue-eyes. The reason for the current spike in interest is the new blue-eyes structure deck coming out in February, which made me want to make the video. I hope this helps you better understand.

I love this explanation and couldn't agree more. Thanks for the comment.

Cool idea 💡
The white color of the synchro cards fit his motif
Fit very well. I can imagine a very old kaiba using a blue-eyes d-wheel and summoning all his synchros.
I wish seto got a fang of critias deck. All the legendary dragons should get more support.
Both Critias and Hermos at least need a Tiameus monster version.

It would be nice if they created a critias support card that made the fusions more accessible

Dang that thumbnail. I could totally see kaiba rocking facial hair 😍
@@LunaNightZz definitely 🧔
I totally see older version kaiba with facial hair. Especially with a horseshoe mustache
Its also a popular theory that Kaiba created Synchro summoning
I wish they would just do an anime for this it would be class
Makes sense
It was always my head cannon, and I always wanted to make a video to see if anyone felt the same 😊

You should be surprised there is a DM in the Gold Sarc deck. Yugi straight up did not use it in the deck.
He became a weeb and plays only waifus now
Absolutely right
Like everyone else today does
The answer is simple bcs its sucks in modern yugioh lol, till the new support comes
@@CrimsonDemon311 the simple answer is no fun
