I'm re-binging this series for the third time in a month. I love everything about it. And Robin is brilliant as Jane. Such a great series, wish it had more seasons.
holy shit i had no idea she'd only had one film/tv role prior to Deadwood, that's absolutely insane to me given her performance on that series. obviously she'd been doing stage work as well, but to go from basically a side character on one episode of Law & Order, to playing one of the greatest tv characters i've ever seen... absolutely incredible. Calamity Jane is such a huge part of my love for that show.
Robin and Molly are both Cancers as am I. Both are very emotional and real! Very impressive acting the writing... omg! bravo cast, crew and writers! Deadwood is the classic masterpiece of our time. So bummed the way that season 3 was the end? So many holes that needed to be filled. The movie was excellent but the gaps are still prevalent. Deadwood rules!!!
She should’ve won an Oscar for playing Clamity Jane. I mean I was just blown away by her acting in the show. I also believe that the costume designer’s make up also deserve an award because the first time I saw what Robin really look like, and I need all that make up as Clamity Jane, blew my mind. It just blew my mind. They did such an amazing job. Then you go look at the real pictures of Clamity Jane I mean I just use the casting the make up the acting was all perfect. I can’t see it being much better.
Just got through a rewatch of Deadwood and it's so damned good. I can't stand her character Jane, such a drunken lout, lol, but Robin kills it in the role and has such great moments of humanity that really shine because of her performance as opposed to what I imagine was just on the page.
this interviewer kind of sucks. she stuck too much to her prepared questions, in the order in which she prepared them. she killed the conversation after every question had been answered.
She was great no one could ever do better l could watch her performance over and over again and enjoy it like the first time
I absolutely love her as Calamity Jane. She was incredible.
She portrayed Calamity Jane with such heart and passion❤
I’m currently re-binging the whole Deadwood series and yes Robin is 1st class 🙌🏼
She was next level as Jane in Deadwood. It was a masterclass in the craft.
She should be an A list actor. But she seems very modest and humble. Thats rare in Hollywood.

I saw her in Big Little lies and she is my most favourite actress now ❤️❤️ LOVE FROM PAKISTAN 🇵🇰
"Maybe I will have a fuckin' drink, for sociability's sake and 'cause I'm a fuckin' drunk." :-)
🤩🤪🤣🤣🤣👍🏼Amen!!
competent actor, wonderful understanding of the character and very good insight into an alcoholic.

Very intelligent discussion of her artistry and how you build and portray a character. Thanks for posting.
Once you've been a Main character on Deadwood,,nothing is the same..I can totally see that
Big fan and admirer of Robin Weigert’s work. Have now seen her in several films (including Deadwood, obviously…). Her range seems without limit.
She's so cute and beautiful. Has that natural beauty I can't help but fall for if I saw her somewhere.
Viewers wondering "Who's that? That's JANE?!?"

Emmy, not Oscar, since Deadwood was a tv show. And yes, she was utterly brilliant at Calamity Jane and should have won a shelf full of awards.
She was Cate Blanchette's roommate in the Good German.
She is SO beautiful, i love her!
Jane certainly cleans up amazingly well. Beautiful woman and great actor
She is gorgeous.
yes, not at all like on Deadwood
She’s yummy
stunning.
She was amazing as calamity Jane ❤
At first I hated Jane. But I grew to love her. Weigert's performance was actually pretty damned good.

Talented smart and attractive
Even all dressed up and dirty looking as hell you could tell she was a pretty woman, yep! She is very attractive and has a calming, great energy!
Jane kinda made the show.
