Racists are people who took power through violent means and keep that power from people with different skin colors via a police force.
Prejudice is people who don't have power and don't like the people in power of a different group.
The difference is one trainer is asking people to talk to each other and the other trainer is telling people to train yourself to feel good about killing someone.

Id rather be in the trainer's class who is teaching listening skills than killing skills.

You must deny the existence of definitions as they exist in the dictionary to adhere to this dogma. Neuro's comment is exactly right. I am speaking here in generalities that get to the crux of the issue, don't take anything personally.
So, You are saying diversity training is destructive?
      To who?
Sure it is destructive the continuing abusive behavior. People who prefer to behave badly while living in denial would rather not talk about it. That is the point.
If you are someone who wants to treat a group of people as if they are less than you, don't even want to look at your bad behavior and then you start calling a conversation about it destructive then I must ask destructive to what? To who?
Anyone who is being abused wants the abuse to stop.
The violence; physical, economic and otherwise is incontrovertible. What is so obviously being done and has been being done for the past 400+ years in America and for thousands of years on the planet is a conversation human civilization badly needs.
Making the assertion that a conversation is destructive is a thinly veiled excuse to try to stop awareness workshops.
We finally have the technology to communicate with everyone, everywhere. We finally have the technology to actually get along with each other without violence and people who got used to having power over others will argue for us to not get together, not talk, not work out solutions.
It is denial of what is so obvious and making up excuses for what is really just the fear of the unknown.
People who are happy to abuse others cannot comprehend that someone would not want to abuse them in return. So they get violent because they fear being violated in retaliation.
But the cause of their violence is not fighting against someone attacking them. The cause is what they are making up their their minds about what they don't know. The fear of the unknown makes them continue to abuse people.
But there is nothing to fear.
Nobody is abusing you, they are just asking, kindly, in words to not be abused.
However, your own escalated false revenge narrative has you not even be willing to just talk.
White people in affluent segregated schools have been brainwashed to believe that white hegemony is the pinnacle of civilization.
So they ignore black inventors, scientists, educators, musicians, leaders, books, movies, shows and anything that is not wholly filled with white people, white narrative, white culture, white leaders, etc.
The government separated out black people, denied them home loans while they helped white families get started, that wealth accumulation fortified the myth of white superiority.
But nobody loses anything but a stupid ego story if we treat each other fairly. As a matter of fact, we are all better off when we stop being destructive and work together.
Making up false negative stories about a whole group of people is just a waste of time, energy and resources.
We fear talking to each other but then we will storm the capital on false pretenses.
You will not lose anything, regardless of what you have been brain-soaked in by a white school education.
Everyone will gain when we actually learn how to treat each other as equally valuable.
All this making up frightening narratives about what will happen if we get together and talk just causes chaos, disruption, prolonged mistrust, fear, more wasted energy and a lower quality of life for everyone.
Self evident truths, that all people are created equal may have just been seen as pretty words when the people who first coined them held slaves and were committing genocide.
Those people knew that future generations would continue to grow in their ability to see what actual justice, freedom and liberty is.
      As M.L.K. said
"The arc of the moral universe is long and bends toward justice."
This is not about a reversal of some kind to take revenge on abusers. It's about balance in the present moment. Not putting some down and others up.
But working together to locate that sweet spot that produces calm, understanding and cooperation now, today.
White people fear that black people want to do to white people what white people did to them. You have to let that false idea go.
Because if white people keep fighting to abuse people from a superior position, not listening to the experience of the "other" over time white people( or whoever is in power with the old guard) will create a self fulfilling prophecy.
You say "we cannot listen to you because then we will lose our hegemonic priviledge." What you are overlokking is that hegemonic priviledge was gained through violence and force.
To continue to deny equality is a message that says " the only way you will ever be treated as equal is if you take it by force." Thus teaching others to act as you have thereby justifying your continued use of force against them.
Then anyone being mistreated just wants to talk to be given what the constition already promises, equal treatment under the law, the more you ignore, justify and keep abusing people, that moral arc will bend and grow and more good, kind, just and civilized people will understand what is really going on.
In the past power was violently seized through force whether people liked it or not.
Whenever people said no more, the forces of power cracked down on them without equal justice.
Whenever they did more and more people were waking up to seeing the tragic unecessary injustice, misery, suffering and violence.
Until we learn to be kind to each other regardless of any mentally made up separations, whoever is doing the abusing will be seen as wrong.
Today technology is changing the way we communicate. Technology is filming who is doing what to who right before our eyes.
All anyone is asking for is to be treated fairly, no less, no more.
To say yes, listen and create solutions that include everyone equally bypasses the need for further resistance, begging, insisting, yelling, protesting or other desperate, escalated ways of getting the point across.
Diversity workshops are the fastest, most effective way we have to give people an experiential taste of what it means to be in relationship with someone who denies your humanity.
Once you see what you are doing to someone else, that you thought denying was the best route, you get it and then you no longer fear the unknown. That is the beginning of possibility to want to work together.
Or you won't and you will keep arguing for the same old exclusionary ignore-ance of others who you allude to as not as good as you.
But you will no longer be able to pretend that the truth is on your side. Your soul will be sold and your life force will be weakened. It is just how it works and the people that look to observe what is actually going on will leave you behind as they glide along the moral arc.
We will either learn from each other or keep wasting our lifetimes.
It takes listening to the experience of another. If you argue for denial of creating a space for voices to be heard. You are denying a part of our shared humanity and creating further polarity.
More wasted time on the journey to human balance of quality of life for everyone.
Then we continue to laugh at the joke of all the miss universe contestants saying they want world peace when so many people are arguing against what will help us get along with each other.
A shared space and an open ear.

There is a problem with people filling in the blanks with suppositions of what is "likely."
All we know is what someone did. If you look all over RUclips you will see stories where white people are filling in the blanks about black people, making arguments about what " probably" happened or what " likely" happened, most of the time painting pictures that would lead someone to believe in the criminality of the black person even when there is absutely no evidence of it. Why? Why would someone write that someone probably did something criminal?
Why would someone take the time to make something up, take the time to type in words that move minds against someone with absolutely no evidence?
Because it happens all the time, no exaggeration.
Then especially white people do this against black people and I have two major reasons why that happens that I will share but if I wasn't so tired and about to go to sleep right now I would write many more.
      1. White people are used to living in affluent neighborhoods where their innocence is assumed ahead of time. ( not all white people but the ones who would take the time to make a no evidence argument against black people because they know nothing about what it's like living in a low resource neighborhood policed by cops who dont live there and don't have personal relationships with people in the community so they don't give people the benefit of the doubt.)
Because affluent white people are used to being assumed innocent they make the assumption that cops serve and protect black people equally.
      2. Many affluent white people live separated from black people so they subconsciously see a black person from a media infected paradigm.
Then they think arguing against a black person from the same paradigm they are living in makes sense.
If you don't know don't add negative assumptions. It just goes to prove the experience of black people that white people will make stuff up and act as if what they make up actually has any merit.
What is " likely" for you in your neighborhood is not likely for black people. So if you don't know and you werent there but you are really dying to type something and add your two cents simply say " I wasnt there, so I don't know but I wish the best outcome for everyone involved."
Otherwise you are painting a false picture. Whether for or against, if you don't know you don't know. What good does that do anybody?
Why are people so mean? Why so willing to tjriw someone under the bus who they never met, dont know, werent there yet will still day , probably this happened. If it didn't happen so freakin often it wouldn't be so annoying but it is definitely prevalent.
How would you feel if you belonged to a group that people pervasively make up negative assumptions about? Every addition is another brick in the wall.
Then you say be dispassionate. Ha. You have no idea whether I am dispassionate. You are not here with me and don't know me.
So just take a class, just watch a youtube video on the difference between fact and fiction.
Then maybe you will observe more, make up less and just add your point of view when you have something real to add instead of making arguments about the wrongness of what someone else is doing or probably doing.
I am not making you wrong, I am pointing out how you are choosing to make another person look bad because you are assuming that everything that makes sense to the way you see the world is right and true.
That is totally fine if you are not making people wrong but if you are unaware of the choices you are making to fill in the blanks and believe your mental creations, if you don't get that that is what you are doing, you could be the cause of an unjust punitive decision that has tragic consequences one day for someones life and walk away thinking that your negative constructs actually helped somebody.
What if you were the one soneone did that to without being aware that they were filling in blanks they knew nothing about and you had to suffer the consequences to your life. Of course you would see that as a tragic injustice. So just think before you throw someone you don't
know under the bus when you weren't there so don't and can't know.
      Thanks💝

If you’re a government worker or a veteran that has applied for a government job your qualifications are based upon KSA = Knowledge, Skills, Ability.
DIE = Diversity, Inclusion, Equity (Equity is not the same as Equality) does nothing to prove an individual’s Knowledge, Skills and Ability to do the job.
If a company feels compelled to add a DIE hiring manager or change their company logo to rainbow colors to pander to the LGBTQ group or DIE group, it’s perceived as patronizing and thus that company may have had prior discriminatory hiring practices.
Bottom line…any public or private company that discriminates against a person’s race, religion, sexual orientation, political affiliation, economic status, veteran status or disability is in violation of State and Federal employment laws. KSA or DIE. Teach your children well.
