SORTED Food it's not annoying at all, I mean it helps you guys being able to make videos and they're absolutely fantastic and you're all always in a great mood which makes your videos even better!
Seems good so far! But a question on this recipe: I see several protein bars with some kind of fruit on it. Is it possible to add fruits to this withouth loosing their proprieties or would it be better to add dehidrated fruits?
I love my Dad's Osso Bucco. We're not Italian, but he learned to cook from his best friend's Dad, who is. His Osso Bucco is the best I've ever had, and my favourite way to warm up in winter.
I love the Made Personal series! I hope you guys continue it for a while! For my most personal dish, I would say that it is Linguine and Clams...yum. :)
Yay! I'm excited to see them. I wish I could make these, but living in a dorm without access to a stove or room to store lots of ingredients is difficult. Have you guys thought of doing like a microwave/no bake recipe series?
Add some dates, coconut shreds, chia/ hemp seeds next time! Great for carbs and protein! And use raw cacao powder with some coconut oil and vanilla extract for your own homemade fudge :)
My very Personal food is Tabbouleh which is a Levantine Arabic salad made of bulgur, tomatoes, finely chopped parsley, and mint ,and seasoned with olive oil, lemon juice, and salt ..
SORTED Food Faster than a six-speed hand mixer, more powerful than a London tube train, able to stop Jaime/Mike/Barry from tasting food before its ready with a single smack with a wooden spoon: it's SUPER-BEN! (Ben tears off a regular pair of shorts/trousers he's wearing to reveal the magical RED SHORTS!)
Everyone gives Ben so much shit but hes a great teacher, flows through the content efficiently and effectively... he gets to the point and is thoughtful and cares about food. 👌🏽
Portabello mushrooms stuffed with ricotta and pancetta filling served on a salad with asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and then grilled. Served with a dijon/olive oil/honey/pink peppercorn dressing. That's what I like and that's what I'd love to see you guys make :)
Completely agree but with a bit low on calorie count. These bars are high on calorie side due to the quantity of some ingredients used. Otherwise the recipe sounds quite nice ;)
We, if you want sth low calorie you should probably eat a cucumber. In my opinion this protein bar is a healthy option for any store bought protein bars, or any chocolate bar for that matter. For me it has too many carbs, I believe fats are the better option, I wuld go all almond flour instead of oats. But to each his own. This is still a great option for all looking for healthier alternatives!
Great video as always guys and a very nice, healthy snack/breakfast idea that is easily customizable too. Definitely want to try it out soon! I started making my own protein bars because of the expense and to control the sugar that goes into them- the store bought ones have a ton.
When I was a kid my mum used to make a courgette cake which is similar to a carrot cake. We got the recipe from my great-grandmother and this just reminds me of my childhood
My most personal dish is a good pan of cheesy pasta with veg. I like to boil the noodles, create the cheese sauce with a roux, mix in a bit of butter with the pasta and a wee bit extra milk, then mix it all together with some frozen peas. If I have fresh hot dogs about I'll chop them up kid style and add them in too. Very delicious and definitely the basis of my childhood.
I don't know if you have it in the UK, but here in the US the Peter Pan peanut butter company sells peanut butter with honey in it, and it's absolutely DIVINE on a piece of whole grain bread. Don't tell Mike! :P
Me and my dad made a protein bar the other day but it was a little different. We got sticky rice (we live in Thailand so it was an easy thing to get) and some bacon, peanut butter, nuts and apricots (optional). you wouldn't think that it is a very good combination but actually it is pretty delicious. :) you should try it out it was really goooooood
my favourite personal food, that brings back a lot of memories, is ambrosia. almost every Christmas or birthday my dad would always make about 2-3 litres of it. oh and another two were sultana buns, my nana (R.I.P) used to always have a huge batch at her house whenever we came to visit, and passion fruit fudge cake that my grandma (R.I.P) used to make that is so addictive (nana = my father's mother, grandma = mother's mother)
oh i love it when you guys make healthy recipes! my eyes just go wider when i hear oatmeal, coconut oil! you can add wheat germ too, to amp up the fibre content! YES TO HEALTH!
Any chance you guys could do some post workout meals to get ready for the summer that aren't just boring old chicken and rice? And ones that are cheap as i'm an exeter uni student! Been subscribed to you guys from day 1 and glad to see you're getting the recognition you deserve! :)
My most personal meal would have to be porridge! You can add any fruits/flavorings you want to it and its a perfect filling breakfast to keep me energized for the entire day. I eat it everyday and I would love to see your version of it!
As a vegetarian I always try and eat foods that are high in protein but I don't always succeed and I hate protein bars and shakes. This recipe looks yummy and diet beneficial. I will certainly be trying these. Thank you guys.
Going to make these as a every day snack for work. As a vegetarian I often struggle with getting enough protein, and with a very busy and strenuous job I need to have more. So definitely going to make these, and may add dried cranberries and raspberries to it!
the most personal food for me are probably my vegan, gluten free breakfast cookies. I'm a big baker and I started making them for a friend because she is allergic to basically everything (nuts, certain types of gluten, dairy, eggs) and I felt awful that every time I baked she was left out. They ended up tasting so good and I had so much fun getting creative figuring out how to make them that I've just kept making variations of them ever since. They usually involve some combination of oats, tons of vanilla, bananas, apples, cinnamon, olive oil, dried fruit, honey, and chocolate.
My most personal food has to be Zwetschekuchen (took several liberties with spelling), which is a German plum crumble/pie my dad and I make at least once during the very short (Italian) Prune Plum season here in America. We always raid the stands at the supermarket at the first sight of them during the late summer/early fall.
My most personal food....probably Japanese-style Croquettes, full of ground beef, potato, onion, and garlic. It's delicious, inexpensive, and crunchy finger food that can stand as a single meal when I'm busy with either writing or my studies, and it's also fun to make and share with friends!
Fun fact about coconut, coconut milk was successfully used to replace blood plasma by nurses during the war (don't ask me which one). ALSO I reckon chopped dried apricot would go really well in these. It is added sugar, but I looove the dried apricot/dark chocolate combo
Guys you are amazing! Quick question.... can I ad another type of milk instead of regular milk? (say almond or rice milk) ? Thanks a lot, great video and lots of love from México!
The caloric breakdown for this is around 4445 calories a batch. I cut them into 16, so that's around 280 calories a portion. In the video, their portions are around 560 calories, which is definitely a good, hearty breakfast. To note, these are high in fat given the high nut content (approx. 60% of the macros are made up by fat). Depending upon your goals, you may want to reduce some of the nut content and add more, say, protein powder.
I absolutely love fruits Mainly the berries! I also love yogurt and cake! So I would say my personal food is probably parfaits! My favorite parfait that I like to make is some plain vanilla cake on the bottom of a bowl then some fruit berries, a scoop of yogurt, more berries and some granola :)
You guys should make Poha. :D It's probably the only food that EVER makes me so happy that I could fly and sing from the rooftops. It's an Indian breakfast dish and is without a doubt absolutely magnificent.
I'd say kofte is my most personal dish. It has helped me win many a food competition and my family has had its own recipe passed down generation to generation. P.S it's not pronounced 'Cough-ta' it's more 'Coof-deh'
Hi guys. Great video and very informative. Just wondered how much you reckon you save making your own protein bars? Obviously hard to say but if you could give an approximate number in comparison to store bought products then would be much appreciated. Thanks.
I really like having some quiche (courtesy of Sorted), or some Thai curry that I've personalised to my own taste (I live in Thailand so its fairly easily to come across the authentic ingredients for a traditional recipe) that I eat with a Thai style omelette! :) Love the video, by the way. Those protein bars look absolutely delicious.
Love the protein bars. They sure are expensive, so maybe I'll make some for my brother (and myself of course hehe). Maybe you could show us more healthy recepies like this one? I would love some healthy and fast lunch ideas. Something to bring to school/work. Keep up the good work, guys!
Two things I think agree with me: Sushi with butterfish in it (maki, nigiri, even sashimi if I lack rice) Carbonara-like dish where I use mascarpone cheese instead of normal sauce from eggs etc, and bacon accompanied with salmon Yesss. :)

The website is back up and running for us… Can you get on it? sortedfood.com
it works!
Yes, it's working again for me. Thank you so much, Sorted Crew! :)
Yep.
Working for me as well. :)

mmm gonna have to try these!
Mike doesn't need muscles, just look at that face.
I love my Dad's Osso Bucco. We're not Italian, but he learned to cook from his best friend's Dad, who is. His Osso Bucco is the best I've ever had, and my favourite way to warm up in winter.

this is by far my favourite sorted series
good job, boys.
I love the Made Personal series! I hope you guys continue it for a while! For my most personal dish, I would say that it is Linguine and Clams...yum. :)
We hope to do a few from each kitchen... we all have a couple of favourites that are personal to us!
Yay! I'm excited to see them. I wish I could make these, but living in a dorm without access to a stove or room to store lots of ingredients is difficult. Have you guys thought of doing like a microwave/no bake recipe series?
i made this with my friend! our first sorted recipe, and it was absolute genius. love you guys!
Add some dates, coconut shreds, chia/ hemp seeds next time! Great for carbs and protein! And use raw cacao powder with some coconut oil and vanilla extract for your own homemade fudge :)
Ooo that sounds good, will have to remember that one!
Chia seeds are fantastic! I like to throw them in smoothies and add them to granola.
My very Personal food is Tabbouleh
which is a Levantine Arabic salad made of bulgur, tomatoes, finely chopped parsley, and mint ,and seasoned with olive oil, lemon juice, and salt ..
Ben's forehead curl makes him look like Clark Kent. I wonder: if he takes off his glasses, does he become Super-Ben?
yes he does.
Umm… No one needs to see that...

I really want to make these protein bars! They look and sound great! Great work guys!
most personal to me is an egg mayonnaise sandwich because i had it when i went on holiday with my sister and my dad...it makes me really happy
Its so simple! Thanks for the inspiration.
I did this and I've added some dried fruits to the mix: apricots, raisins and prunes. AWESOME!

I think you can, the milk just binds the dry ingredients together.
Cool! Thanks... I'll give it a try :D

I was wondering if i was the only person who noticed that XD

I would add chia seeds for LOADS of energy, they keep you full, great fiber source, and full of trace elements.

it recalled my memory of the shortbread recipeXD So yummy!
Thanks for sharing!

For extra flavor, toast the nuts, seeds, and oats before preparing.
