  • Although Luke promised to return to Dagobah and complete his training with Master Yoda, he didn't do so until one year later in "Return of the Jedi." Interestingly enough, there is a VERY deep reason for why Luke chose not to return for so long...

I feel like the jedi still didn't learn after order 66. Yes, they accepted their flaws, but it wasn't until Luke that they fully accepted the error of their ways.

In Legends yes, but in Disney canon, Luke repeated their mistakes.

After the way he left Dagobah to save Han and Leia in ESB and how he went wild as he was beating Vader to the ground in ROTJ, Luke understood why the Jedi forbid attachments in the first place. He also knew that Anakin went through the same thing with Luke's mother, Padme and that's why he became Darth Vader.

@@kiefferz5556what even is your point here? Is your point that Luke would be just looking for han the whole time then you clearly haven’t seen the fact that Luke has grown between his first fight with Vader and the raid on Jabba’s palace. So much about him changed between those movies and he obviously grew between them. Lando and Chewie probably were mostly focused on finding Han but Luke had more important things to do, this is what we see in this comic.

@@Deadman7600. This is exactly what happened in the Marvel Star Wars comics before Disney acquired the rights to Star Wars. Lando, Leia, and Chewie, disguised as bounty hunters, searched the galaxy for any sign of Han. Luke spent the entire time on his own.

Clone wars era jedi gained their wisdom from books and philosophy lukes knowledge comes from that and personal experience luke was the jedi only one willing to admit that neither side of the force is perfect it just comes down to the person using it and it completely unbelievable that he gives up in the last jedi if he can see the faults in people like vader obi wan and yoda and still forgive them then theres no way he couldn't do the same for his grandson it just show that they were just trying to shake his character up for the sake of shaking it

In the book ‘Darth Plagueis’ it explains why the Jedi have lost the ability to see the Sith and that they were no longer serving the ‘light’ of the force.
The book reasons that the Jedi no longer serve the ‘force’ exclusively but do the will of the Senate and the Senate had become extremely corrupt.

Obi-Wan wanted to kill Vader because Obi-Wan was a firm believer that Anakin Skywalker was gone beyond return, but it was only Luke and Leia who were able to bring back Anakin Skywalker from the depths of Vader. No other character in the entire Star Wars saga could ever destroy Vader and bring back Anakin except Luke and Leia.

  • @GuardianOwl

I don't know, given what we know of Luke's personality type, I feel he would have rushed back to confront Yoda about the lie, particularly if he thought they were avoiding him. At the end of ESB, Chewie and Han were spearheading the search for Han so it's not like he wouldn't of had time in the interim to fly over to Dagobah while waiting for their signal. The only reason he doesn't is Lucas wanted us to be able to see that moment in RotJ, so Luke stays away for no reason.
You stating him returning since he knew he would have to face his father also doesn't square with the dialogue of ESB in which Luke believes he is now a Jedi Knight once Yoda says he needs no more training. It's only then that Yoda reveals that he has to face Vader.

Canon really took over the originalities of what the stories are supposed to be like created by their original authors. Cant believe these changes occurred, TMNT, Star Warrs and now some of the Batman and DC stories and Marvel as well. George Lucas said that Anakin was and will always be the chosen and bring balance to the force which he did but all of a sudden, Luke was killed off, Leya was killed of and the emperor came back. This is not original stuff. Y’all should give at least 30% to George Lucas making money off him by these canon make believe ideas not even created by the original authors 🤦🏻‍♂️

Compassion is powerful, but the Jedi misunderstood its use. They see it as pity mostly. Compassion is to be able to understand and feel anothers pain, anger, etc. The Indigo Tribe use it to its full potential. The only Jedi who came close to true Compassion was Mace Windu with his Vapaad style of fighting. But it still fell a little short.

I was surprised that Luke didn’t return until a full year after ESB. But you know what, I’m glad because Yoda is like the old ways of the Jedi order.
