I can take it out. Ironically, the insert that is in those right now is a Wesco. 😂 Last determines toe, so that is the same question. This pair is on the 4811 last. Thank you, I absolutely love them 🖤
very nice.. you went all out! leather lined.. full sock liner.. ( how much more did those add ons cost? ) I just got some White's MP stitchdowns in Black Double Shot.. it is very nice for sure.. but this is my 2nd pair of new White's and they are so rough around the edges hah,, still my favorite PNW brand though.. I have some 2030 Viberg coming in tomorrow in Black CXL.. can't wait to compare it to the black Seidel.. I'm really liking the idea of getting Monkey Boots.. i've had all the brands expect Frank's n JKs so far.. so Frank trademarked the name Monkey Boot.. but where did they actually originate?? im curious which brand was the first to do it.. thanks for your presentation
Leather liner was a 30 option at the time I think? The leather insert maybe 10? I'm sorry, I don't remember. I hope you'll never buy a pair of JK, the odds of being happy are not in your favor. Monkey boot is a popular nickname for a Roofer boot. Roofers are always monkeying around up on roofs. So it is a heritage style, but one largely passed by. Chippewa made them. Danner and/or Thorogood might still? Doc Martens & Solovair still make a Monkey. It was also a style worn by a European army, but I can't remember which one.
@@cloveroak5492 thanks for you reply Jeff..,, youtube never notifies me of the responses for some reason.. yes, I looked into it.. it was a Czech military thing apparently.., I just mean, Frank's literally trademarked or RR the labeling.., the same way Viberg owns the name 'Service Boot' .., I found that interesting.. that Frank's got ahold of the name.. The tall toe box looks great with the monkey boot style. 👏 I have two different boots with the Dr.Sole Supergrip half soles, and they are pretty dang nice IMO. Great choice with the white contrast stitching!
Thank you Mark, I wouldn't change a thing. 🖤 Question though...Do you think the Dr. Soles are on the loud side when walking? Have they quieted down with wear? Granted, I'm still breaking them in but I was a bit surprised
@@cloveroak5492 they aren't loud for me, but everyone has a slightly different walking gait so that might explain the difference. Wonderful boots, hope you enjoy them!
They DO still have the arch support, and it is an excellent question... The arch support does require a certain amount of heel HEIGHT, and accordingly a regular short block heel is only for a low arch. I told them I needed the high arch, but for asthetics of the Monkey Boot, I wanted the shortest heel possible, with that arch, that they were able to make. I had no idea what height heel I would receive, and was as shocked as you likely are. It IS taller than a regular block, it does not distribute weight as perfectly as a higher heel would, but I love them and wouldn't change a thing.
I've been considering the Commander in blk R/O with natural midsole, full white stitching, a 4 row 2+2 spaced toe cap, and silver hardware. Sort of like what Frank's had posted on IG a bit back. Your boots might of just helped me make up my mind, lol. What do you find the difference in a 4811 last vs a 55?
The 4811 last is not a normal last for them at all, on any of their builds. The 4811 is a White's last that they really just have for rebuilding White's as they were. So the lasts you would be looking at are their #3 (55) or their #4 (1977 or 77 for short) The difference is toe box height. The 55 is a decent height. It is the height steel toes are made in. The 77 is a fair amount taller to give your feet extra room. My work boots are 77's. They would be happy to make you a boot on the 4811 if you ask. It's toe box height is sorta between the 55 & the 77. I choose it on these because it is a special design (Monkey Boot) that more closely resembles a sturdy shoe than a work boot. I also choose it on my green build because the green color commands so much attention I thought the 77 wouldn't look right. The Type 1 Commander is normally a 77, and that is what I would recommend to you. If you look at my 2 Bison videos they are both the 77. (one is smooth and one is roughout. Check'em out....
Man you've got quite the whiskey collection behind you. I see some BTAC back there as well. I don't think I'll ever get my hands on any for a price I can afford, but boy would I love to try some Stagg. Ever think about making bourbon videos?
I thought the BTAC was off camera. 😂 There is a shelf to your left that has most of the rare & expensive stuff that I tried to keep off camera. I have considered Whiskey videos, and do so at some point. I've done some in a group I Admin, maybe I could find'em & post'em GTS has always been a phenomenonal pour, I hope you find a bottle some day. 🥂
Like cooked food - very nice.
Bravo.....super classy, and super classic. Cheers....🥃

Thanks Thomas
Beautiful boots Jeff!
Thank you sir
nice boot! is your full lenght leather insole fixed or can you take it out like WESCO does? which last? which toe?
I can take it out. Ironically, the insert that is in those right now is a Wesco. 😂
