Everything you recommended for Juki TL series. of machine is spot on. The thread, the extra bobbin case for different thread thickness and that pin point machine oiler have made my sewing experiences very easy and enjoyable. The needle does make a huge impact on that happy free sewing day. Customer service on your part is above and beyond. Thank you.
Now I know! Thank you for putting together this video! I think I finally understand how important needles are and what I need to get the most pleasurable sewing experience instead of frustrating skipped stitches and broken needles and blaming my machine when it was simply the wrong needle.
BOKI! You are a life saver! I have been trying to FMQ some lace appliqués to my daughter’s prom dress. It is a white stretch knit, I’m using clear thread, and I was having NO LUCK. I was not getting skipped stitches. I was getting NO stitches. I had resigned myself to the LONG task of hand stitching 🤦🏼♀️ Then I saw your video. OMGEEEEEEE! I was using a ball point needle because it’s knit fabric. I just tried a top stitch needle and SUCCESS! Thank you so much for this video and all your amazing tips.
I have a new TL 2010Q and super excited! I have learned SO MUCH from your channel and have joined the FB group too. Thank you so much for all of your education content. It's especially helpful for people like me that have learned to sew on my own. This is helping me connect (much later) with my grandmother's who sewed a lot but my mom did not. I think of my grandmother's a lot when I sew🥰
So glad I found your channel. I have a Juki HZL-F400. Ive had this machine for about 3 years but never had anyone to ask questions or help with troubleshooting. After watching quite a few of your episodes, I feel more confident. I definitely did not understand the needle choices and numbers. You made it a lot clearer. Will always refer back to your channel if I have a question.
Hello! I hope you are having a happy day! I was working and filming in my sewing room all day and now I get to sit and watch you while I repair my blue jeans. I hope you have a great and creative week ahead. Thanks for sharing this video and your talent.
Super informative and helpful. I’ve bought needles and just guessed at what I needed because I could never figure it out. Now I have a much better idea what I need. Thank you!!
Well......I learned I've been using the wrong needle to do my piecing! Which would explain my frustration! 🤣 I've saved this video for reference on which needles to use, so much great info! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks, Boki, for the overview of the needles … I am saving this video to my “Juki Junkies” video file. So helpful, as are all the other videos you do.
I was so intrigued by the video of the different needles. I didn't even know about the top stitch or the vinyl needles for use with webbing! Definitely going to purchase these for sure... the needle book is super awesome!!! Thank you for such a very informative video!
Thank you so much Boki! This was much needed information for me as I continue to explore the possibilities of my new Haruka ❤️ Your explanation was very concise!
I had no idea about sizes and types of needles. Now I understand. Well, I understand more anyway. I will be getting an assortment of needles now AND I will know what to do with them! YAY!!
Thank you so much! That was very informative. One of the several things I learned is which needles I need to consider for an upcoming project on my new Juki Junkies TL18 using cork and waxed canvas. You guys are the best, in front of the camera and behind the scenes, thanks
Wealth of information, Boki, I always learn something new each week by watching JukiJunkies video. Thank you Boki, David for these great videos , I look forward to it each week!
I am new to Juki Junkies as I just bought at TL2010. I learned that I can experiment with other needles as I've stuck to the size 12 needle. But in bag making I really should move to the size 14. Thank you for all you very informative videos
Mahalo for such great instruction! I learned so much I especially loved how you directed about each needle and it’s use. Before this video I didn’t understand what the two numbers mean and what needle to use. Now at work i see why the needle keept breaking with canvas!!! Thank you thank you
The Schmetz brochure is fantastic. I bought bulk needles (100 qty #80 microtex my fav for quilt piecing) from them, and they shipped the brochure. Understanding the metrics of the needle (all the parts) and its marriage with thread/fabric will help a sewist ensure that the needle, thread and fabric are working harmoniously. Too often folks want to avoid learning the objective attributes, and then complain that the machine is at fault. Often it is user error (and I have raised my hand on this, too). Take the time to learn the attributes so that you can make informed decisions for your project. More importantly, when things go wrong, you know which variables to control to get the results you want. Also, most thread manufacturers will provide needle guidance for the thread you are purchasing. There are also many online guides showing same.
Thank you for this thorough video! I have learned so much from your videos to help me get more out of my DX7 and TL-18. I’m excited to try a 90/14 or 100/16 topstitch needle in my next bag project to help avoid skipped stitches. Although I may continue to use a 90/14 or 80/12 sharp needle for the construction of the bag. Please keep the tips coming!

Thank you so much for all your wonderful videos! I have learned so much from them! Question for you -- what needle would you recommend using when stitching t-shirt quilts together (t-shirts with ironed-on interfacing) ?
I need to buy some needles for quilt piecing and binding and quilting (free motion and walking foot). Still a bit overwhelming but exciting too (just got the TL18)! Bye bye Janome plastic bobbin case issues!!!

For the JUKI TL 2010 Q it states to use only needle types HAx1 or HLx5 on the machine itself, and these are hard to find, do you carry these types in the sizes you stated?
I believe that is HAx1 is the Organ needle brand designation for the same type of needles Boki is showing, the 130/795 H that SCHMETZ uses. I use all SCHMETZ all the time with my 2010. The HLx5 is also an Organ designation, that is a slightly different needle design for higher speed machines like the 2010. I would imagine if you are running it at really high speeds they might be a better choice. You can find them online, I’ve seen them on Amazon, sewing machine parts online, those kinds of places.

Try this pack which holds a variety of needles jukijunkies.com/product/schmetz-costume-pack-10-pack/ I would test sew on some normal cotton and see the results. Informative video..Suggestion.. you talk super fast and in run on sentences...slowing down a bit would help those viewers who may have auditory processing issues..
Ohhh yes!! I am 1 of those people . I have to run the CC when I watch and even then I have to stop and replay bc she talks very quickly and therefor the CC is also moving real quick
You can also click on the settings gear icon and slow the playback speed down that will even include the audio as well It is usually on the top right corner of the video screen
@@dcwatashi it's not a playback issue.. changing the playback settings can distort the cadence of natural speech ..so if you know anything about auditory processing issues that's not something you want to do.
Totally agree, just slow down a little bit
You can also click on the settings gear icon and slow the playback speed down that will even include the audio as well
It is usually on the top right corner of the video screen
@@dcwatashi it's not a playback issue.. changing the playback settings can distort the cadence of natural speech ..so if you know anything about auditory processing issues that's not something you want to do. They just simply need to Slow Down and Adjust their narration as if their audience has no idea what they are talking about
@@UsernameUnkwn21 Yes I’m very well-versed in audio and video but even slowing the playback speed just a little bit would help especially if they cannot turn on close caption.
Also I have noticed that some of these videos offer a transcript but I can’t remember if this one provided that in the description box
Do all these types and sizes work with the automatic needle threader?
correct
