We take our extra cucumbers and skin them then purée them and put them in ice cube trays and store them frozen in one gallon bags. Then we make limeade with it. I take 16 cubes and put in a half gallon jar add 1/2 cup sugar and 1/3 cup line juice. After the cubes melt stir real good. It is so refreshing
Love the flowers you have in the fabric pots! And look at those really tall sunflowers! I also love how you and Gary co-operate to bring great information to us and to support efforts to teach those who would otherwise not have any hands-on experience, which is so much different than only watching it on a screen! Love these cucumber growing tips! Got to have sweet refreshing cucumbers!

I ordered the 70% sunlight and 30% shade cover..black from Amazon. Cucumbers seem to be going good. Also using worm tea.. I have had 100 degree weather for two weeks…
Here in South Florida my cukes& squash are destroyed by pickle worms. Do you have any suggestions? I tried growing a parthenogenic variety, inside my screened lanai. It seems to be working, but this isn't really a final solution for me. Thanks so much, I love your upbeat style and your gorgeous garden!

CaliKim, your videos are most informative and your presentation most professional, although entertaining:) Last night I watched the 2018 video on making cold compost in one of your fabric grow pots. I'm wondering how I would keep it protected from rodents and wild animals if they come into my yard. Tks for response :)
I added vermicompost to my raised beds last year. Used 3 round irrigation valve boxes per 4x8 bed. Seem to be working well so far. One of my raised beds is a sub irrigation or a wicking bed and the 3 others are normal raised beds (which need more frequent watering). No issues with animals.
This year, I will be growing 3 different types of cucumber from my usual. The dragon suhyo, the Armenian, and the lemon. I am looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
I will be growing my cucumbers in Rubbermaid containers. I want to be able to plant 2 in the same container. What size container should I use? I have a few different sizes totes/containers from Rubbermaid. I want to plant 3 or 4 cucumbers plants in total. Thanks
I'm growing Armenian cucumbers in a container pot in Southern California (highest temp has been 82 degrees) - after two months, I have beautiful, healthy leaves and LOADS of male flowers, but no female. Has anyone else encountered this and know how to troubleshoot?

I just planted some pickling cucumbers today and plan on putting up some jars of dill pickles with them.

Tip 6: Right after harvest dip them in ice water to cool the interior temperature quickly. Makes them stay fresh longer.

My problem too. Happened to me last year. I found out there is a self pollinating of sort like tomatoes. Cucumbers & zucchini always do that.
Sometimes it happens when they are stressed. Make sure you see watering consistently especially with this heat
