Correct me if im wrong but im sure Kenpachi's new power he got from Unohana replenishing blood or something played a part in this battle, we forgot about that during this reaction but it hit me after the fact. So Unohanas goal was to restore Kenny back to full power. When they first fought, Kenpachi was stronger than Unohana as a kid, this made him put heavy shackles on his power, but each time he came close to death in a battle (Ichigo V Kenny, Nnoitra V Kenny, etc) - Unohana realized he unconsciously removed his shackles bit by bit. So she kept killing him and reviving him to speed up the process. Now current kenny is at full power without any shackles thanks to his fight against Unohana, and because of than, hes finally able to hear his sword talk to him. Now he learned his Shikai, Nozarashi, the big butchers knife.
theres more to the whole explanation but this is just the barebones of it
Kenpachi was always strong
He never listened to his own heart
He thought relying on his blade was weakness but it is not if the blade is part of you
The Unohana fight was simply to help Kenpachi learn his Shikai
Then here he finally activated his Shikai. Unohana didnt give Kenpachi anything besides officially giving him the title of Kenpachi
Wanna know what I just realized? Kenpachi was still wearing his eye patch throughout this entire Fight😅

He just wears it for the drip he isn’t sealing himself anymore. That was the whole point of the fight with unohana
@@2010Failbridsno, the eyepatch is like a tool and it's gonna work as long as it's on. Him sealing himself was like a mind thing. He had the eyepatch made to further weaken himself so it still works. He just isn't subconsciously holding himself back anymore like he did before
@@2010Failbrids where did you get the idea that eyepatch is now needed for "drip"? This is the new eyepatch that Kenpachi received during the Fullbringer arc. It is 10 times more effective at holding back reiatsu than the previous eyepatch (fact from novel and databook). Kenpachi has just stopped mentally restraining himself, but eyepatch has nothing to do with it - it still does its job

So it seems the flashback flew over everybody's heads. Think about this: Kenpachi released his shikai for the 1st time calling it's NAME. Followed by a flashback of him asking a little girl where she came from and she touches the sword *hint *hint. Then asks the girl what is her NAME...cuts back to the reveal of Zaraki's shikai Nozarashi. Hmmm...put 2 and 2 together. Btw did anyone notice Maki Maki from season 3 in the squad 11 crowd?
[Tidbits & Clarifications]
- Yachiru's ability is quite strong, It strikes before she attacks, when she attacks and after she attacks. Also as Isane noted no Shinigami has a Shikai that doesn't change form once released.
- In regards to Gremmy's power of imagination many fans fail to understand that it has many drawbacks. The 1st being that what one can imagine is based on experience and Gremmy has lived a very confined life because it's alluded to in the manga that he's kept locked away somewhere. The 2nd is that as we saw a person's imagination can do it's own thing, so if you have unvoluntarry negative thoughts they will affect you like how gremmy began to lose. 3rd is that it's limited to the speed of his thoughts. Lastly it's not limitless as some claim, if he can just make anything a reality Yhwach would have told him to imagine that every soul reaper was dead, but clearly that's not the case.
- In regards to Gremmy killing the Captains, we saw 1st hand the the affects of his imagination can be reverted if he's not focused so it's possible that those captains deaths are not permanent.
- The anime cuts the reaction of both Shinigami and Quincy, which showed just how unhinged Gremmy is.
- Many fans claim that Gremmy is idiotic, however he's more so sheltered, this is why he began to feel ecstatic by fighting for the 1st time. The idea is that despite being able to imagine nearly anything he's likely experienced very little in life from actions to even feelings.
- The scene with Kenpachi calling out his swords name mixed with the Flashback of Yachiru not having a name is a huge in your face hint here which some people somehow miss.

That episode was really something. Anything you use against Kenpachi cannot kill him, even space void. Gremmy had his fight and it was excellent.

So many dialogues that were cut in this episode just like askin eating with a snack box while watching in the telescope , him and pepe conversation about Gremmy, bazz b saw the meteor and say Gremmy is an idiot, jugram also panicking and commands the Quincy to protect Juha and the seiretei people panicking when they saw the falling The meteor crush the shakonmaku
Kubo doesn’t believe in that no more that scene makes no sense in context of what we know happens later on. So he removed it for that reason. Same way he removed the part with not being able to feel zaraki Reiatsu. It makes sense because he probably has plans for more Quincy’s than just Gerard to be stronger than gremmy. Kubo is the personally removing and changing certain things.
Sad it was cut, doesnt take away from the fact that this episode was beautifully done
if they would cut the fucking intro maybe they would’ve fit all of that with those extra 2 minutes

also he needs to keep that imaginatione effect active in his mind otherwise it will deactivate like with Yachiru or the old man Visionary QUincy who died.
I think it’s explained that Kenpachi Reitsu is so overwhelming and ridiculously dense that Gremmy can’t affect kenpachi with his imagination

the issue with gremmy power is that if you have emotions is becomes a power that can fight back against you because imagination is not something a being with emotions can control.
in battle no matter how experience you are there will be a chance you start thinking of something bad which will manifest via imagination which can end up killing you.
the best suited for this power are creatures with no emotions like a Computer or Ulquiorra
We haven't seen Yachiru fight because she spends most of her time around Kenpachi, and who is going to be stupid enough to attack his adopted daughter in front of him? Also, you didn't catch it, but, when he activates his shikai, it flashes to her, and then their meeting--he asks where she came from, and she touches his zanpakuto in response; then he asks her name and she can't answer. She is a manifestation of his Zanpakuto spirit, and he is so absurdly powerful that she has been physically manifested for hundreds of years.
And NO they do NOT need to experiment on that brain. In one of the novels somebody has exactly that idea and it doesn't end well. They might actually touch on that in the TYBW, as some stuff from that novel has made it into the anime.
Kenpachi's best fights are always a physical combat type like the fights with Unohana or Nnoitra.
Funfact that was only his shikai , wait until his bankai that will surely wipe everything!!☠🔥
He didn't even have to take off the eye-patch. There are laws that govern everything in the universe of Bleach... and then there's Kenpachi Zaraki.

Kenpachi is not hte strongest tho there are multiple quincies who are far superior to him and many other characters as well

The pacing is too much bro they didn't include the reaction of the people on the meteor + many more scenes they've cut. Gremmy vs Kenpachi is 9 chapters in the manga. This fight should split into 2 episodes.

You do realize kubo is personally re doing things the reaction was removed because they didn’t want to make it seem jugram, askin and others were potentially weaker than gremmy as those line pose scaling inconsistencies later down the line. Remember kubo is removing the stuff he doesn’t feel is accurate anymore like the top tier sternritter shitting their pants over this. It clearly means he making those others stronger. They didn’t miss much in this fight tbh almost all the scenes were adapted as this fight had very little dialogue and was straight combat.
I don't know how they can cut such important and famous fight 😢

1.) Yamamoto....old man was insane
2.) Kenpachi .....Aizen could not imagine his strength, and the prove is here.....a being whose power his imagination could not even imagine Kennys power
Aizen didn’t fear them before the Hogyoku transformation he only admitted he probably wouldn’t win in a straight up fight with Yamamoto. And he was weary of zarakis true potential. He wasn’t scared in the slightest of them.
I mean in all fairness it seems more like Gremmy was unintentionally giving him a power boost by imagining him to be stronger than he actually was.
No, he was very careful around Urahara (for having superior intelligence) and Yamamoto (for having superior raw power), because either of them could have killed him before his transformation. Kenpachi would have been much easier for him to deal with back then, as he was still limiting himself.

Is the pacing extremely fast or am I just tripping. We all know toward the end bleach manga was rushed to be finished. but I'm noticing the anime is actually feeling more rushed and there are parts of the manga that are being cut out. It's throwing me off cause certain key moments in the anime just aren't hitting like they should
Yh this one was particularly egregious. Almost ALL character interactions/reactions were cut. This made Gremmy seem like just another villain than THE villain of this part of the arc. The meteor was meant to be a HOLY FUCK moment not a … oh that’s cool moment. Episode just kind of came and went but I don’t think anime onlys would appreciate just HOW INSANE it was that Kenny smoked him

Absolutely not insane. Bleach fan, let's be honest, it was a fucking disappointment! Episode very quickly dispatched, without flavor, the scene of the meteorite which was the most impactful in the manga because even Ywach and Jugram shat on fear before the power and madness of Gremmy who could destroy everything, it was skipped and it's a fucking malpractice because it took away the drama of the episode! Next to that, it's clearly not the best animation we've had, and the OSTs were badly placed.
Rukia vs As nodt remains by far the best episode of season 2 and even Renji vs Mask had more impact. In short, this episode was a disgrace.
Ywach wasn’t scared but haschwalth was. But I agree, this needed to be 2 episodes. The meteor NEEDED to have more impact, but it just came and went which would make people think it was just a decent feat😊
