Indeed. This is straight up stated by Kokushibo (Upper 1) during their demon meeting in season 3 episode 1.
Correction : Gyomei was not on his way, he was there the whhole time as a part of the plan. You can see Yushiro's talismans (Tamayo's boy) disappearing around his neck - he was invisible because of them. Just like Tamayo, that's how she sneaked a shot on Muzan
Yeah, they were just outside of the explosion range. That's why they also didn't attack him before he could regenerate. They needed time to find/get to him after the explosion.

Regarding the smoke coming off Muzan at the start, this was actually Muzan burning from the wisteria surrounding the masters mansion. But he has incredibly fast regeneration, so we see the smoke but no damage. It’s why it stops once he’s fully in the mansion.
The fact that every single reactor instantly just assumes Muzan blew up the mansion is exactly why Muzan didn't expect it at all. Ubuyashiki has BALLS.
Just to clarify, the one who pulled them all in is Nakime, aka the Biwa woman. Has long has one of her eyes is near you, she can teleport you from anywhere into the infinity castle, Its her power, this entire castle is controlled by her. This episode was fire and nice reaction! :)

I think ubuyashiki decided to blow up his whole family not because he doesn’t care but because he care so much. Muzan is a cold blooded demon he would kill anyone who’s involve with the corps. And I think ubuyashiki is scared that his family would be either killed by Muzan or used as a tool against the slayers. and for me I think the latter would be the worst for him. I believe the wife and kids also wouldn’t want that so they are on this together. It is sad bad I think it’s the best choice there is 😣
