For those unaware ,this is one of Prince's best friends in Minneapolis when he first started playing in bands. He toured with Prince as his lead guitarist on Prince's early tours. He we ent solo in 1982ish I believe? With the song A Love Electric among others. He also produced some of Jody Whatley's biggest hits in the late 80s Andre Cymone is THE MAN. A supreme musician . So when he plays a Prince song , it's not just another guy covering a Prince song. This cat was in deep with Prince from day one. * RESPECT *
but remember, Prince was in Andre Cymone band 1st called Grand Central & Champagne, Andre gave Prince his start as far as giving him a place 2 stay & play since grade school & Prince said he looked up 2 Andre bcuz he was tall, cool, had all the gals, & a great musician, they were best friends but bcame like brothers.
Prince’s childhood buddy and his bassist through the Dirty Mind era. Andre Cymone then produced a couple of mildly successful albums, Living In The New Wave , Surviving in the 80’s. However, it was the A.C. Album that made folks take notice. The Prince penned track The Dance Electric was straight fire. Prince was so bad he gave away two of the best songs he’s ever composed, The Dance Electric and 777-9311
Andre always been the musical truth and him and Prince were best friends and brought out the best in one another and Andre is one of the most important producers over the past 40years respect
School Friends : and Yes Brothers : Prince emancipated himself from his parents At age 12 yrs. and decided to live with Andre and his brothers and sisters.. Andre Cymone Legendary👑👑
Love U Andre! I hope you will read this comment. :) You and Prince gave me a VERY SPECIAL birthday autograph for my 10th birthday back in 1980 and I just want to say THANK YOU!!!!! :D Someone stole them from me in the mid-late 80's :'( but I STILL CHERISH that memory sooo very much!!!! My mom worked with your aunt Lil at the answering service (Able-1) in St. Paul MN back then. You and Prince were touring (I believe) with Rick James at the time as well as recording Dirty Mind so were having trouble finding time to meet up with Lil to do the autographs. It wasn't looking like you would be able to meet up with her before my birthday in March due to your schedules, but Lil reassured me I'd still get my autographs, just not til after my birthday. Well...about 3 days BEFORE my bday my mom came home from work with one evening with the BEST SURPRISE! She pulled a light green slip of paper out of her purse and said LOOK WHAT I GOT TODAY! :D It was you and P's autographs and you each wrote me a special happy birthday greeting!!! I freaked out!!! Lil said she attended a big family birthday party in Minneapolis(?) that previous the weekend; you and Prince were there and that's when she got the autographs. I can't tell you how THRILLED i was!!! It was the BEST, COOLEST birthday present I EVER received!! Took my autographs to school for show and tell the very next day, lol! All the kids thought it was super cool and my teacher was in AWE!!! :) Thanks again Andre, Prince, Lil, and MOM!! :))))

Yes, it is one of Prince's song. Cyndi Lauper only did a cover of it back in the day. Prince wrote this song back in 1980 when he was in his 20's and it is on his "Dirty Mind" album also dated 1980 on Warner Bros. record label. Someone had posted this song on youtube as a tribute to him, but it is Prince's original version from the DM album: ruclips.net/video/4drKlxfgpdw/видео.html. You can also check out his discography because he produced "39" albums. His Music is awesome.
