I’ve been watching Randy’s top level fish catching tip videos for decades and decades. I’ve learned so much about Randy’s seasonal patterns and movements that if you were to put me in any man cave or vehicle on this planet I can promise you that I’ll catch 50% more fish than any other pro tournament anglers out there on a 1 1/2 oz spinner blades bait, 110 jerk jerk pause, hell bender and a quarter inch Ned rigger guaranteed.
I threw those things when I was a kid just starting out. My Dad would set us up to troll them in Milford Lake in Kansas. I never caught a fish on one. When the Big-O came out, I started catching Bass. I branched out to spinnerbaits, other crankbaits and plastic worms from there.
Great memories Randy! Love the white fiberglass spinning rod with the Mitchell 300 and Blue fluorescent Stren. Casting and trolling Hellbenders and Bombers.
Hey Randy, You should check out Roland Martin's youtube channel. He is learning how to use the jig and minner from his son Scott, and he ends up catching an 8lbs bass. Leave it to Roland to be ahead of the crowd like always. Instead of complaining about FFS, he is learning how to use it!
What's old becomes new again! Years back, my TX partner asked me to dig up my old Mepps #2 spinners. We won the tournament on the Rappahanic River on them-all 3 and 4 Lbrs!
Not a good lure -- too weak at the connection for the lip at the nose. It bends too easily and breaks just the same. Now, you want a really tough old lure that is virtually indestructible and made with pretty much the same body shape ? Go with the '' mudbug ''.

You did several videos talkin about how you wouldn’t catch a bass in a week on a hellbender cause the bass have evolved

I have some old Hellbenders and Bombers. Need to give them a try, the old becomes new.
My first big bass was caught in 1971 on a Hell bender. I still have it.

My Dad fileted bass in the 60s and 70s that would be trophies today
Either this is a prank, or Randy is having a senior moment. He even refers to it as a whopper plopper at one point.
Randy, do you recall if the lips they caught them bubba's on was unpainted/shinny lips or colored lips or both? Thanks!
I thought they had evolved past the hellbender?
Let us know if you see success with that thing in a few months!
Ya,,an on the water demo😂
i have alot of hellbenders that my dad gave me might sell um
Randy? Are you serious? For seven years you have been talking me out of fishing a Hellbender. Have you changed your thoughts or is this a joke?
Good for using as a downrigger, take a hook off, tie a liter and big jig, troll for whatever.
Air brush that thang 🤗
I still catch hogs on the hellbenders.
